Lenny was Still a Greenhorn

Lenny was still learning his craft when he cut this record. He had developed his chops, which he demonstrates, but not his ear. So you hear a lot of show-off lines that just don't sound good. His later recordings are gems. Buy this one only for its historical merit.
What's great about it: Nothing
What's not so great: Lenny was still "learning"
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Rock out to your favorite tunes with this electric guitar. It comes with an amp, case, strap and extra strings to get you started making music.

Incredible Value

I have a background in classical guitar and I now want to study jazz. I bought this one with a gift certificate to get me started and I'm very pleased with it. It appears to be made very well, has nice action, came already set up (I didn't have to adjust the string height) and it sounds good. The little amp is fine for practicing at home but I"ll want to replace it with a better one eventually.
I still can't believe I got so much guitar for $150. But if you buy one, put a decent set of strings on it right off. The ones that come with the guitar are absolute junk. They sound bad and they won't stay in tune for more than a short while--very frustrating. I replaced the strings with a $5 set. It now sounds twice as good as it did with the originals, and I don't have to tune it every two minutes. At first I thought the amp was bad but it was the strings! Highly recommended.
What's great about it: Action, fit and finish, looks, sound
What's not so great: The strings
I would recommend this to a friend!
