I have no idea why Dyson chose to make it so small. Its only a slight inconvenience in the grand scheme of things. The vacuum is pulling up so much fur and dirt that its just the price you pay. Maybe if I vacuumed more than once a week, I wouldn't have this issue, but I would still say the "dirt cup" is about 1/2 to 2/3 the size of other "dirt cup" vacuums.
