Gaming First!

The setup for the WRT32X AC3200 Gaming Router was not complicated. After connecting the router the modem, I plugged an ethernet cable to my PC and followed the instructions provided in the quick-setup guide. The first time, it didn’t pick up internet and my devices weren’t connecting but a quick restart of the router from the setup window itself fixed the issue.
The key feature of this router is that it is specifically for gaming devices with the Killer Network in them. Certain gaming PC’s that have the Killer Network will take advantage of this and automatically prioritize Killer Network connected devices when on. The router gives you the option to turn this feature off if you want to. If, however, you don’t have a PC with the Killer Network, you can still manually move online devices in a priority queue by dragging and dropping the items. They will appear as you named them from the device itself (e.g. Trobadour’s iPhone).
The performance of this router is excellent. Even though in my first time plugging it in I had a minor hitch, a quick one button restart of the router from my PC fixed the issue and I haven’t had any problems with it. I haven’t noticed my online gaming lagging at all, but I did prioritize my gaming PC, my Xbox One, my PS4, and my Nintendo Switch. Phones in the family were moved to middle tier priority while smart TVs in my home and other smaller devices were moved to the lowest priority tier. Creating a second WiFi network was easy and that is for guests in the house. Everything seems pretty straight forward has worked without any major complications thus far. I also tested playing a 100 player online game while have 4 other devices (2 phones, 1 tablet, and one computer) all streaming different media services (Hulu, Amazon Prime, Netflix, and YouTube). I didn’t notice it affecting my gaming at all, and that is good.
The router meets my expectations. Linksys has been making routers easier to set up for people with or without a computer. Testing this for gaming is great, especially for those who don’t understand the complications that come with setting up priorities in routers manually.
The price for the router in terms of value is approachable if you want an easy fix to prioritize your gaming needs over other member’s of the family’s needs.
I highly recommend this product for a household that houses gamers whose gaming habit may be draggin due to your router sending an unequal signal to all devices. Prioritizing gaming needs and other devices is simple enough that you don’t need to spend hours figuring out what to do to give your gaming priority.

Wear 'em like a BOSE

The setup for the Boss Soundwear Companion Speaker was simple. Out of the box, it already has sufficient charge to begin using it. Though it works with bluetooth, a companion app called Boss Connect is recommended to download to adjust settings in the headset. After downloading the app, I was able to access several customizable features of the speakers themselves.
The key feature of this speaker is that it rests on your neck and has a full bass sound. The apparatus does look like it has a quality build and a zipper cover protects the entire speaker. You can connect multiple devices to them and switch at will with a button press. As a new device connects, the speaker will say out loud the name of the new device, such as how I named my phone or my home computer.
The performance of this speaker is amazing. It has full bass sounds and you can hear some of the smaller details of movies and TV shows. I wore them while on my after-work routine. Though they never fell down, the weight of them was constantly noticeable, but not uncomfortable. I tested these speakers with streaming services like HBO NOW and Netflix. The audio was synced properly while watching my movies. I tested it with the latin music genres (bachata and salsa) and the beats were amazing. I also listened to some rock (Spanish and English) and I must say that I am starting to enjoy my music again without having my ears get warm because they are covered. These were also tested with a gaming computer. This seems to be where I will end up using them the most, as when the house is quiet, I can game with surround-like sound without making my ears warm by covering them up but having the audio source close to me so it doesn’t wake anybody who may be sleeping.
The Boss Soundwear Companion Speaker meets my expectations. I have to be clear that these (unlike another similar product I own) do not have retractable earbuds. They are purely a speaker that goes on your neck. The only inconvenience I find is the charging port, which is cumbersome to find the right angle to charge it with. That’s only an inconvenience if you decide to leave the cover on. The cover is removable and other color varieties are sold.
The price for the speaker in terms of value is adequate for the quality of sound that you will get.
I highly recommend this product for people who are audiophiles but need the source closer to their ears. This is perfect for college students in dorm rooms who don’t have the space for a soundbar but want that audio quality. Also, it’s great for family homes where someone wants to listen to a loud sound without covering up their ears but not wake anyone up.

The setup Shark - ION Rocket IR101 Bagless Cordless Pet Stick Vacuum - Fuchsia is easy to set up without reading the manual. Though I recommend you read it for the full features, the manual isn’t necessary to set up because everything snaps on into place and is obvious where things go.
The key feature of this vacuum is that it is cordless yet powerful. The heaviest part of the vacuum is the handle itself, but it weighs approximately 2-3 lbs, so it’s manageable. Also, the vacuum quickly assembles into a portable hand vacuum, great for vehicles or for stairs. One final feature that I enjoy is the ability to charge the battery without the need of the vacuum. You can store the vacuum in a place with no outlet but keep the battery close to an outlet so that you can quickly charge it when you’re ready to use it.
The performance of this vacuum is surprisingly good for being battery operated. At first, I didn’t think it had strong suction, but then I realized that when used to vacuum carpet you need to step on the head once so that it lies flat and press the carpet button. Once in carpet mode, it swivels nicely around edges and corners. It handles and moves forward on its own like a corded vacuum. The lights at the head of the vacuum are powerful making easy to see under furniture.
The vacuum meets my expectations. I didn’t expect for it to be as powerful as it is. Being untethered makes me want to clean other rooms because I don’t have to go back and mess with cables or unplug it and replug it. This makes vacuuming faster. Putting it away also works wonders because it occupies such a small space. The only thing that is slightly disappointing is the dust compartment size, which is small. For that reason, I deduct one star, but that should be the only factor when deciding to buy this vacuum.
The price for the vacuum in terms of value is comfortable and worth it for the suction power.
I highly recommend this product for people who live in small spaces (like dorm rooms or small homes), or for people who find it difficult to carry heavy vacuums around. Also, this is a perfect vacuum to have around if you like doing the details in your vehicle yourself. This vacuum will not disappoint.

A great Keurig Starter Kit

The setup for the Keurig K-Select Single Serve K-Cup Pod Coffee Maker was simple. It has one 3 foot power cord that is not detachable. There are several accessories included, like a water filter, that are optional to install.
The key feature of this Keurig is that it has a button to brew a strong coffee. You can select from three pre-measured sizes and if you want to make any of those sizes stronger, you can by pressing a second button. I appreciated the option, but I tried two different coffees, one with the button pressed and one with the button depressed. I honestly couldn’t tell the difference, but that doesn’t mean that the Keurig doesn’t perform well. For this reason, I deduct one star.
The performance of this Keurig is good for a quick coffee urge. I have several Keurigs around areas that I frequent, like my job and my home. This one functions just as efficiently as the others. The first time you turn it on, if heats the water up for 3 minutes. After that, choose between 6, 8 or 10 ounces, select your favorite K-Cup coffee pod, and brew to your liking. After the initial 3 minute pre-heat of the water reservoir (which can hold 52 oz. of water), making a cup of coffee takes about 1 minute.
The Keurig K-Select meets my expectations. It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles from other models available, like a clock display and a timer, but it does have an automatic shut off, in case you forget to turn it off after use. This is another reason I deducted a Star.

The price for the Keurig in terms of value is comfortable. It’s on par with other machines with similar features (but lacking) features.
I highly recommend this product for people who are just entering into the world of Keurig machines. It’s a good way to ease in and get used to making coffee with a brewer. This unit includes a 6 K-Pod starter cup. Best Buy sells a good selection of K-Cups and often, they are cheaper here per quantity compared to other stores. Pick this up and a variety box, then choose your favorite one.

Great unit, missing major streaming services.

The setup for this 4K player was simple. It includes a remote control that uses 1 AAA battery and it is included. The Blu Ray Player itself has a non-detachable power cord and all you have to do is plug it into a power outlet. Upon turning it on, you have several initial options to go through, like menu language and internet connection. I connected mine via WiFi, and the whole setup took under 5 minutes, including the update.
A unique feature of this player is that is has smart features. Usually, I frown upon these kind of features because they are often laggy after pressing a controller input. However, this unit has surprised me because it’s actually quite responsive. Aside from the expected 4k HDR / Blu Ray / DVD playback, you can watch your own pictures, home made movies, and even stream from Netflix or YouTube. An optical cable port is included in this unit for alternate audio set-ups.
Performance wise, this is by far the most responsive button press to movement interface I’ve ever experienced. On WiFi with 100Mb down, I was able to watch Netflix shows in 4K HDR and they look as stunning as ever. The 4K HDR discs were even more stunning. The quality is even higher when playing something from a disc, but only barely noticeable, which is a good thing. The device isn’t loud and there aren’t any annoying lights that may distract from the experience in a dark room or in a room where you may happen to sleep.
The device meets my expectations but I am disappointed at the limited online features. The only streaming services available are Netflix (which has an easy and fast interface within the player) and YouTube. Sorely absent are HBO Now, Amazon Prime, Hulu, and other online streaming services. For this reason, I will deduct one star.
The price the player in terms of value depends on your expectations. The quick, responsive interface is a big seller for me, but for others, the lack of major streaming services may deter them from buying it. Keep in mind, though, that an update may one day add these services to the unit, but not a guarantee. Currently, other units exist that cost less and offer all the major streaming services, but may not have as quick a responsive interface as this one. For that reason, I deduct a second star.
I highly recommend this product for people who are looking for a good 4K HDR Blu Ray player that has a responsive interface. If you don’t own a video game console, then this can be a great way of watching 4K HDR films via disc or via Netflix.

Fulfill Their Purpose

The setup for the JLab Audio Epic 2 Sport Wireless Earbud headphones was simple enough. Upon turning on the headset you must hold the pair button, which is a square shaped button, and your phone or electronic device will recognize it as Epic 2 BT.
A unique feature of this wireless pair of headphones is that it is meant to be sweat proof. Previous headphones that I had, the kind that hang around the neck, lost functionality because of sweat. These headphones don’t rest on your neck. Instead, a cord will dangle from one ear to the other behind your neck making it less likely to have excessive sweat enter the product and as a result, I didn’t see any damage on it while working out. The battery lasts for 12 hours and comes fully charged out of the package so you can start enjoying them right away.
The headphones’ performance, to my liking, were ok. They didn’t blow me away compared to other bluetooth headphones that I have. The earpiece tip that comes preinstalled was too big and uncomfortable but 7 other sizes were provided.
These wireless headphones meet my expectations but do not exceed them. Since they are meant for working out, I can see these being left in my car for when I go to the gym but they won’t be replacing my day to day headphones. They come in a carrying case which makes it easy to store. In that carry case, you can fit the small rechargeable cable, the headphones, and maybe an extra pair of eartips. The bulkiness of the earpiece, though, means that you have to arrange the headphones in a certain manner for them to fit in the small case.
The price for the wireless headsets in terms of value is acceptable if you want something that will resist sweat. The box claims that they are washable with an IPX5 rating, which means, according to Wikipedia, that it will resist “water projected by a nozzle (6.3 mm) against enclosure from any direction [and] shall have no harmful effects”.
I highly recommend this product for people who work out and sweat excessively to the point where the sweat will drip down your earlobes and behind on your neck. These headphones do a good job of blocking out sound for you to hear you music or TV show while working out. It does have a microphone and works with Siri on Apple Products. The microphone sounds good when using it in conversation with others. Overall, good for its intended purpose, but not to replace other headphones with deeper bass sounds.

The setup for the LG TONE Studio HBS-W120 Wireless In-Ear Headphones was simple. As you turn it on for the first time, it starts looking for a device to pair. If you have your phone or other bluetooth device in pairing mode, you device will find it as LG HBSW120.
A unique feature of this wireless pair of headphones is that it also doubles as speakers. This functionality seems redundant at first, but it’s actually quite useful and you will find yourself using headphones in places you normally wouldn’t. The headset also has an auxiliary port so that you can connect to non-bluetooth electronics. If you plan on using the headphones portion more often, a nice feature on those is that they are retractable and not magnetic. This means that they won’t randomly fall off and dangle while your are doing activities with motion. They are, however, heavier than your average neck-resting headphones.
The headphones’ performance is simply put, superb. The headphones themselves have comfortable round gel ear-tips. The ones that came by default fit me perfectly, but smaller gel ear-tips were included. They block out enough noise for you to hear your audio. I used them as a passenger on a road trip and my driver had the radio full blast and she was signing, yet I could still hear my audio. The performance of the speaker is also good for when you don’t want to block out sound. A good example of this is when you are bike-riding and need to listen for traffic around you. Also, I can see this being a solution for people whose car radio may not work but don’t want to block out all outside noise by wearing headphones.
These wireless headphones meet my expectations. The fact that I can hear them as speakers or headphones is a big plus. The added bonus of an auxiliary port extends the number of electronics I can connect these to.
The price for the wireless headsets in terms of value is acceptable depending on what you intend to use them. If you only plan on using the wireless in-ear headset, then LG sells other less expensive but equally good products. However, if you can see yourself using the speaker option as well, then you should definitely invest in these.
I highly recommend this product for people own multiple bluetooth and none-bluetooth electronics to meet your needs. These quickly became my new favorite wireless headphones for use with everything except exercise. Because of the intended resting location of the speakers, high amounts of moisture can definitely damage the speakers. Also, when you use the auxiliary port, the sound can only come out via the speaker functionality. The two reasons mentioned above are why I am deducting 1 star. It is still an excellent product, but if the auxiliary port had allowed sound to come out from the in-ear headphones as well, I would have given it the full 5 stars. This is now my main headset for when using the Nintendo Switch, as they comfortably rest on my neck and the sound is coming out from the speakers closer to my ears, so I struggle less in hearing what is happening in the game.

Great Upgrade from Entry Level Projectors

The setup for the Samsung - Epson Home Cinema 4000 3LCD Projector with 4K Enhancement and HDR wasn’t challenging. I deal with projectors daily at my workplace but even if I didn’t, everything is clearly labeled and a quick start guide is available to get you up and running fast. This projector needs an external audio source, such as a soudbar, and it doesn’t come with any cables other than the power cord. Cables you may consider getting are an HDMI 4K ready cable (Best Buy’s Insignia brand words great) and an optical cable to connect to your soundbar.
Some of the features of this projector include 3D viewing (requires Epson or Epson compatible active RF 3D glasses), 4K resolution and HDR10, though not the Dolby Vision HDR as per Epson customer support. Another feature that is always great to have is the ability to send your PC/Mac image wirelessly to the projector, if you connect it to your home network.
This projector’s performance is outstanding. The same day it arrived, I was expecting a pull-down white screen. However, the projector arrived first. In my haste, I made a makeshift white screen with a bedsheet and a backdrop support that I use for green screen video edits. On that, it looked amazing. Within an hour, my white screen arrived. I was impressed even more on an actual white screen. The projector itself isn’t loud but does generate quite a bit of heat.
Some of the features of this projector include 3D viewing (requires Epson or Epson compatible active RF 3D glasses), 4K resolution and HDR10, though not the Dolby Vision HDR as per Epson customer support. This Epson Home Cinema 4000 exceeds my expectations. I connected mine to an Xbox One S, which is 4K compatible. I purchased the movie, “Passengers” in 4K. My wife, at first, couldn’t tell the difference between 4K HDR and what we already had. It wasn’t until the movie reached a dark scene with bright colors that my wife literally said, “Wow, I can see the difference.” She sat through the whole movie in awe of the imagery. After the film, I upgraded my Netflix account so that I can watch 4K content, which is 11.99 a month, just two more dollars than your regular plan. Upon opening the Netflix App on my Xbox One S, the app immediately recognized my new plan and I could search for 4K HDR content. Netflix recommends that you have an internet speed of at least 25 Mbps down for you to be able to stream 4K content. At 100 Mbps down, I had no issue watching Daredevil in 4KHDR. The last thing I tried was video gaming. Of course, the Xbox One S doesn’t support 4K gaming, but it does support HDR in a few games. Namely, I tried Forza Horizon Sports 3 and Mass Effect: Andromeda, both of which support HDR. It was an amazing experience seeing the colors come to life on a video game that I thought it couldn’t look any better. I feel it’s more noticeable when your game puts you in dark scenes, like driving your car at night or exploring dimly-lit corridors.
If you are serious about having a home cinema, then the price for the projector in terms of value is high, but worth the investment. Keep in mind that you do need an alternate audio source like a soundbar and provide your own 4K ready HDMI cable and possibly an optical cable.
I highly recommend this product for people who want to replicate a theatre and have the space for it. This projector is not easily portable, as its 7 ½ inches in height and 22 inches in width, so make sure that where you want to put it can fit those dimensions with room for the machine to vent. The setup for the Samsung - POWERbot R7040 App-Controlled Self-Charging Robot Vacuum wasn’t challenging, but I did have to read the manual, since this is my first robot vacuum. There’s an emergency safety switch on the bottom of the robot vacuum that must be flipped, otherwise, the vacuum won’t charge. Everything comes pre-assembled and you only have three components to deal with, the robot vacuum itself (which just requires you to remove stickers and protective plastic), the robot vacuum charging station (which just requires connecting the charging cable), and an included remote control. AAA Batteries are included for the remote.
The three of the key features of this vacuum is the fact that it can connect to your WiFi network with the Samsung Smart Home App, that it can return to it’s charging station on it’s own, and that it can be scheduled to turn on and go on it’s pattern at the same time every day. I honestly didn’t think that it could return to its station, but I was gladly proven wrong. It’s amazing to see the little robot finish it’s job and store itself. Scheduling can be done with the remote control and powerbot. The one thing I counted on working was the App and unfortunately, that was a total let down.
The performance of this robot vacuum was great. The area that I placed it in is the carpeted room that gets the most traffic. The furniture in the area is tall and more than spacious for the robot to go under, which it did. Turned it on and let the vacuum to it’s thing while I got ready for the day. When I came downstairs, it had gotten stuck with an area rug’s fringes. The manual says that, if connected to the WiFi network, the app should tell me that is has gotten stuck with something. The app, though, is what ended up underperforming. After downloading the app, you are given option to add a new device. I went to the robot vacuum section and I was told to press a the clock button to turn the access point on the robot vacuum on (essentially, you are making your robot vacuum into a WiFi connection for your phone to communicate with it). I did that successfully. The next step is for the robot vacuum to identify your WiFi network and for you to enter your password alongside it. The first time, it wouldn’t recognize my home network but would pick up my neighbors. The problem with this is that I wasn’t given an option to choose networks, it automatically wanted me to connect to my neighbor’s WiFi. I had to close down the app and restart the process. The second time, it recognized my own home network. Though I was able to successfully connect the vacuum to my WiFi, on the last step, I got a connection failed message. I tried it again a third time and I got the same message. I couldn’t get it to successfully connect. The process is made more frustrating because it can you can’t go back a step on the app. If you have to retread one step, you have to actually close the app and reopen it and start from the beginning.
This powerbot vacuum meets my expectations but the companion app doesn’t. Since the companion app isn’t necessary for the vacuum to function, I only deducted one star, as most will probably ignore the app. The features that the app claim to provide, though, sound great, as receiving a notification when there’s a problem can have you take care of the situation before letting time pass by thinking everything is ok. The powerbot dust collecting bin isn’t large, so I would suggest that before the first use, run a full sized vacuum through the room. After that, you can schedule it to do little details daily and you won’t have to work about the bigger vacuum unless you have a giant mess to suddenly deal with.
The price for the soundbar in terms of value is slightly high, but worth the investment. I wouldn’t get rid of my stand-up vacuum since I have a two story home with multiple rooms that are carpeted. If I wanted to take advantage of the robot vacuum recharging itself, I would have to unplug the charging dock and install it in every single room one at a time. Nonetheless, if you have an area that receives the most foot traffic, then you would do yourself a favor and invest in this.
I highly recommend this product for people who may not have time to clean a frequented area often. The powerbot has a feature that easily takes care of cornered areas and it works as advertised. Scheduling can be down with the remote or the powerbot itself, so you can schedule the powerbot to clean while you are out. It’s not too loud, but you can hear it working, so I would not advise using this while nearby people are asleep. If you don’t plan on tinkering with the app, you are going to love this.
The setup for the Samsung - POWERbot R7040 App-Controlled Self-Charging Robot Vacuum wasn’t challenging, but I did have to read the manual, since this is my first robot vacuum. There’s an emergency safety switch on the bottom of the robot vacuum that must be flipped, otherwise, the vacuum won’t charge. Everything comes pre-assembled and you only have three components to deal with, the robot vacuum itself (which just requires you to remove stickers and protective plastic), the robot vacuum charging station (which just requires connecting the charging cable), and an included remote control. AAA Batteries are included for the remote.
The three of the key features of this vacuum is the fact that it can connect to your WiFi network with the Samsung Smart Home App, that it can return to it’s charging station on it’s own, and that it can be scheduled to turn on and go on it’s pattern at the same time every day. I honestly didn’t think that it could return to its station, but I was gladly proven wrong. It’s amazing to see the little robot finish it’s job and store itself. Scheduling can be done with the remote control and powerbot. The one thing I counted on working was the App and unfortunately, that was a total let down.

Great Soundbar Upgrade

The setup for the Polk Audio - 2.0-Channel Soundbar System with 6-1/2" Subwoofer and Digital Amplifier was a breeze. There are only two components to handle, the soundbar itself, and the bluetooth subwoofer. The subwoofer just requires the power cable, which is detachable. The soundbar requires the power cable plus your choice of audio source: HDMI (ARC), Optical Cable, or Auxiliary cable, all of which are included in the box.
The key feature of this soundbar is it’s size and available options of entertainment. I connected the soundbar using the included HDMI cable to my 3D TV. Though my 3D TV has 4 HDMI inputs, only one of them was labeled (ARC) like the soundbar. This allowed me to use only the HDMI cable and control everything with one remote. I love this feature because now, I don’t need to be changing inputs on the TV to raise or lower the volume. I can do it all with one remote and without the optical cable, so it reduces clutter. The soundbar itself comes with pre-installed Google Chromecast software. I got it to recognize the test sounds while setting it up but it failed to update the first time. After resetting the wifi on the soundbar, I was able to finalize the update, but none of the apps I have recognized the Google Chromecast as being an option to cast to. My standalone Chromecast was recognizable, so the issue is with the Google Chromecast within the soundbar. Since I already have a Google Chromecast, it didn’t affect me as much, but it’s a feature that the soundbar touts on the box, so be wary of that. Perhaps a future update may fix that.

It gives a really good punch, especially when watching TV shows or movies with action. It has a volume dial for speaking characters on screen. As a hard of hearing person, I decided to raise that volume up and it works! I didn’t even put captions on the screen, as I usually do, to hear what the people on screen are saying. The night mode also does a good job of playing the audio loud enough for you to hear but not too loud so as to not wake up nearby neighbors.

Destiny is the only console game that has held its replay-ability over the last two year AND STILL going strong. Destiny is the flagship games for consoles. It is by far, a MUST HAVE for ANY console player. I'm fixing to buy this as a gift and a few more for starting friends. The game is honestly the best game to come home to every night.
There is so much to do in Destiny, it'll seem overwhelming at first. The economy is booming, so many quests, loot, strikes, raids, bosses, prisons, etc. Bungie is an amazing developing company that is community focused and dedicated to amaze the players. The YouTube and Twitch community is outstanding and never ceases to amaze me. Recently, the Destiny community raised over $500k to St. Judes hospital. The game is thriving like never before. Make memories, make friends, have fun.

Would this system work with online platforms? For example, I am a teacher and have to teach students in person while having students online on Google meet. If I bought this, would my online students be able to hear me and would I be able to hear them?
Hi there. I am a teacher as well. This would allow your students to hear you but you wouldn't be able to hear them. For that scenario, I used the Anker Power conference instead. I had to teach in-person students and virtual students at the same time. The Anker allowed me to speak freely into it's embedded mic and I could hear students from the speaker as well.

I understand that this wouldn’t automatically amplify someone’s voice, but if it is connected to a computer, can the audio be heard through speakers when connected through audio software?
Yes. Using the USB 3.0 receiver and the included extension cable, I was able to use it with Streamlabs OBS and add filters. This allows me to use the mic when streaming content, in Zoom, or even project the voice through speakers that the computer might be paired with.

No mute button, but 22 hour battery life. Great for listening to calls without hearing surrounding noise.

It doesn't come with the sweeper for floors. I was disappointed when I didn't find one. You have to purchase that separately.
