I am so glad I got this for my girlfriend. She made the best carnitas and shredded beef I've ever had with this thing and it was her first time cooking both. The lid has a rubber gasket and it doesn't seem to fit perfectly, it slides around a little, but I don't think it's a big issue. Just throw some meat in there, water, chili powder etc... let it go for 8 hours, voila. You can cut up the meat if it doesn't fit. The white rubber band is for securing the lid while transporting the unit. Low temp is about 175 f, high is about 280 f. A nice upgrade would be a digital temperature setting.
What's great about it: Carnitas & Shredded Beef!
What's not so great: Lid fits a little wonky
I would recommend this to a friend!
