I can't believe I didn't buy this game earlier.

As a realtively late-comer to the Xbox 360, MW2 was my first CoD. I thought that was the most fun online multiplayer experience but it's now tainted with utter frustration due to all the exploitable flaws (OMA Noobtubes). Then Black Ops came, with its fascinating storyline and less fun but much more balanced multiplayer. As the community members complained more and more and picked apart every flaw of each new CoD, I repeatedly heard about CoD4 being the "best CoD ever", a "flawless game". So, I finally decided to buy it, and I was NOT disappointed.
Let's start woth the campaign. While CoD4's storyline is superb, it's not quite as intriguing as Black Ops'. Like any other CoD, it's filled with cinematic sequences, dramatic moments, and plenty of bad guys to fight off. Where this campaign comes out on top, however, is in it's gameplay. The missions are just more FUN to play, and often more difficult, too. If you completed the Black Ops campaign on veteran and expect to do the same on CoD4 without any tutorials, you're mistaken. Some parts of this campaign are impossibly difficult on veteran. But although I was frequently frustrated, the end result of finally completing some of these missions felt unbelievably rewarding. By the end of the campaign, you'll be begging for more.
The multiplayer is the real highlight of every CoD game, and CoD4's is no exception. Although you probably won't find the same experience today as you would have a couple of years ago (there are probably around 1000 people online at any given time), I was surprised to find it still just as addicting, less frustrating, and more enjoyable than the multiplayers of both Black Ops and MW2. The lack of ultimate customizablilty that's found in the more recent CoDs provides much more simple gameplay that always feels fun and rarely feels annoying. Of course, modders and hackers are commonly found in the lobbies nowadays, but I didn't find them too much of a hindrance to the gameplay overall.
All and all, I can say with confidence that this IS truly the BEST Call of Duty game I have yet played. So if you haven't experienced it yet, go buy it now!

Noisy, RROD-Prone, Price Update Needed.

from California
I bought this Refurbished Xbox 360 60 GB Pro model in November 2009.
All hardware and accessories I received were functional (HDMI cable included). The fan is VERY loud compared to non-refurbished 360s. No problems with disc tray or any of that. Encountered my first Red Ring of Death only two months after buying. Refurbishing company includes 90-day warranty that'll get a RROD fixed in three weeks or less. Plus, warranty renews with every repair (I've had to have it repaired twice). I'm convinced it's RROD immune after my second repair (9 months ago) as I've had no problems with it since. $199 was a GREAT price at the time, but today is a rip-off considering the refurbished elite AND brand new 4GB console are available for the same price, and brand new 250GB console is only $50 more. The one thing that perhaps increases the value of this is the fact that it comes with HDMI and component cables for all of your HD needs, while the new consoles today only come with composite.
A year ago I would tell you to buy this. Today, however, just invest in the newer one. You'll probably have to buy a separate (pricey) HD cable, but the quietness of the newer 360s is pretty much invaluable.
What's great about it: Working Xbox 360 w/ 60GB HDD, HDMI and component cable included, good warranty service.
What's not so great: Out-dated price, loud fan, may need to repair several times.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
