Sony XBR-70X850B 4K Ultra HD TV: This TV is perfect for movie night. The Ultra HD screen displays movies, TV shows and more with an unprecedented level of picture clarity — 4x the resolution of Full HD — while the built-in Web features bring a vast world of entertainment into your living room or home theater space.
Got this TV after my faithful Samsung started to die. Looked at the picture quality of the Samsung, LG and Sony. The Sony has the most natural picture and color of all the TV's. Picture quality is great out of the box with the only adjustment needed was to my Directv box not the TV's settings. Blu-Rays look incredible as well as HD channels on Directv look noticeably better.
Only 3 things to be aware of is; 1. To get the best picture quality you will need to get a 4k high quality HDMI cable. Even high quality 1080p cables will lower the picture quality. My tiny 3' HDMI cable from AudioQuest was $69.98 and worth every penny. 2. The Sony unlike the Samsung doesn't have the RVU interface, so if you have the Directv Wireless you will still need a Directv wireless box. The Samsung can access Directv without a Directv wireless box as long as you have the proper equipment. 3. Don't get a 4k TV and expect good sound. They focus on picture quality and not the sound. This TV is no exception. I have the volume at 40 to be able to hear it like my older TV with the volume set at 20. So expect to either add a sound bar or a good stereo receiver and speakers.
To sum it up if you want a great TV (currently at a great deal, I got mine for $2499) with incredible picture and natural color, you can't go wrong with the Sony. From people I have spoke too and reviews I have read, this model is better then the new Sony replacement the 850c. But plan on spending a lot more before its home because of upgraded cables, extended warranty and stereo equipment. I love mine and would buy this TV again.
