The 3D Mario We've Been Waiting For

Ever since "Super Mario 64" came out, I'd always wished that Nintendo would make a game like this: a 3D Mario built with the classic 2D elements in mind (e.g., get to the flagpole, lots of '?' Blocks, etc.). Not only am I quite pleased with this title, I would rank it among the best of the series. Add to this the challenging (but not overly-difficult) gameplay, the simple (but helpful) Streetpass features, and the harder "Second Quest", and you're nearing Mario Perfection!
What's great about it: Graphics, gameplay, 3D effects, Streetpass, Saving images to Photo Album, the "Second Quest"
What's not so great: The only thing really missing is a 2-player cooperative mode (a minor gripe)
SynopsisAs you step through the brush, you sense something is off. You creep slowly toward the river that meanders through this small clearing. You peer into the water and only see your reflection staring back at you. Taking a few deep breaths to calm yourself, you turn around to look up and see a massive monster towering over you. Pulling your sword from its sheath and raising your shield — you look skyward and get ready for an epic battle.Embark on Link's greatest adventure yet with The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. Full motion control is supported by the Wii MotionPlus accessory and allows Link's actions to mirror your movements on-screen. Draw a bow and fire it, toss bombs at enemies and use your whip to solve puzzles with clear accuracy. The precision play control links every action of Link's sword to your motions for intuitive gameplay. This new control applies to enemies as well — carefully plot your attacks, for your opponents actively try to defend themselves. New gameplay mechanics, beautifully designed visuals and intuitive controls allow you to begin Link's most exciting quest yet.

One of the best Zelda games - EVER!

I was very pleased with this title. You can really see where 'Skyward Sword' draws from past games in the series, while introducing new game mechanics. I especially enjoyed upgrading equipment, and revisiting areas (which, as the game progresses, reveals so much more than I originally thought!). There's an occasional issue with the MotionPlus controller (e.g., finding a consistent "baseline"), but it's nothing that can't be easily corrected with minimal effort.
What's great about it: Lot's of content, new twists on familiar mechanics
What's not so great: Occasionally, the MotionPlus controller loses its "baseline", but this is easily remedied
I would recommend this to a friend!
