It took me a while to finally decide to purchase this game since I am not a big fan of turn based games. Some of my favorite games are Diablo, Divine Divinity, Divinity 2, Witcher, Sacred, Oblivion etc. For those of you familiar with these, they are real time action games with varying degrees of quests and character dialog and development. I like to be able to wade in to a battle with only one character to manage and have the computer manage any companions.
That said, I am finally getting used to pausing and switching between orders of the group but I still find this much more difficult than single player games as my party is often overwhelmed. I have found a way around this in the use of scouting ahead and then sending a bow forward to target an enemy character and then having my character run back to the group in the hopes of drawing a few enemies. It works most of the time but is much more tedious than just wading in and kicking butt. :-)
See old dogs can learn new tricks. I am pleased with the graphics and the character acting and voice over work. So far about a 10th into the game, I feel it was worth purchasing.
What's great about it: Graphics and character acting
What's not so great: Tough getting used to playing a party based game.
