TRUE DETECTIVE is a great series to buy and binge watch. There are 8 episodes that are an hour each. I would suggest watching this over the course of two or three nights. The story centers around two detectives working together on a case involving a serial killer who has been murdering women and children for years but has never been caught. At times the story unfolds slowly, but the great acting by the leads (McCaugnahey and Harrelson) will keep you wanting to watch and see what happens next. One thing I have to point out is that the story is just as much (maybe even more) about the relationship between the two main characters as it is about the serial killings. It's dark at times, intense at times, intriguing at times, and slow build sometimes. Overall I would recommend this to anyone who likes a good serial killer drama with great acting. The video quality is excellent. 5 out of 5 for a perfect picture. Audio is really good as well. 4.5 out of 5 Extras include some On-set interviews, featurettes with the writer and composer, and some other featurettes about making this show. 4 out of 5.
What's great about it: great acting, great cinematography
US Marshal Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) discovers some unsavory secrets from his distant past while attempting to solve a case that went cold 30 years ago as Boy Crowder (Walton Goggins) contends with a manipulative Pentecostal preacher who's determined to break his grip on the Harlan County criminal underworld in this release featuring all 13 episodes of Justified: Season Four.

Another Great Season of Justified!

The fourth season of JUSTIFIED adds a mystery element to the plot which Raylin and the gang hope to solve the before the baddies do. Once again, great acting and an unpredicatable plot make this show a series not to be missed.
This remake of EVIL DEAD is a decent flick in it's own right. It uses a good amount of elements from the original EVIL DEAD but also adds a lot of it's own. Parts of the story come straight from the original (the cabin in the woods, the book of the dead, etc) , but other parts, such as everyone going to the cabin to help one girl kick her drug addiction, are new and welcome. The pacing starts off a little slow, but when the flick finally kicks in, about half way through, the result is a frenzied mix of blood and mayhem sure to satisfy the gorehound in you.
Although not as creepy as the original, this remake does manage to contain a few scenes of it's own creepiness along with a great bunch of make-up and gore effects. The final 20 minutes of the movie are drenched in much welcomed blood and give the flick a great visual climax.
Extras include featurettes on the making of this movie with interviews from the director as well as cast and crew. Overall I would recommend this Blu Ray to anyone looking for a bloody good time.
THE CONJURING is the most effective thriller I've seen in many years. It genuinely leaves the viewer spooked out. It is based (to an extent) on a true case and that only makes it all the more haunting. Great acting from everyone, great cinematography, and a good spooky story make this one of the most memorable horror tales in years. The extras on this great Blu Ray include current conversations with the REAL Lorraine Warren and members of the family who were haunted and terrified for many years as they lived in that house.
