I bought this around a week ago. I had the older 5 CD Sony, & it was great. BUT, this is AWESOME to the MAX!!
I've wanted this for quite a while now...& I am GLAD I finally have it!!!!
It works perfectly, so far!!
Sound quality is excellent!! As good as my Tascam CD recorder. I have music snob ears too. I'm a musician.
Plays CD's great, & LOVE the USB!!!!!!
I use a flash drive on it A LOT. Plays MP3's, WMA, etc....perfectly. I can't say enough good about it.
I haven't recorded to USB yet. Can't wait.
Thank you to Sony!!! I have a Sony Receiver from 1993 in my rack, and another CD/DVD player. I'm a SONY freak.
Connected to Cerwin Vega 3 way speakers. Music Heaven!!!!
I recommend this to anyone who loves music!

An Excellent Documentary!!

This is an Excellent Documentary / DVD set !! I've been waiting for something like this, from Rush...for years! It is everything I hoped it would be...& more. I would recommend this, to anyone...who is fan of great music. Whether you're a Rush fan, or not...you will enjoy this great DVD set!!

What's great about it: Experiencing the History & Music, of the Legendary Band - RUSH

What's not so great: Nothing!

I would recommend this to a friend!

can i record from one cd prerecorded to a blank cd to make my own custom cd' / david?

No. It only records to a USB. Which is cool in itself.
Good thing I'm on pain meds, or that question would bother me. Lol.
I just had surgery for 2 hernias.

Can you play mp3 files from usb port

I notice that you can record from cd to usb port.
Can you play songs recorded to usb device. If so, what is the maximum songs that can the usb port handle.
I have over 100 songs on usb stick that I can play thru my pc and also thru input device in my car.
It would be nice to be able to play these thru the usb port

YES!! Absolutely.

I have 58 albums (folders) on one of my USB flash drives. No problem.
I think their is a limit of 100 folders per flash drive. But even 58 Albums, is TON of great music. I customized one of my flash drives, on my Dell computer. I deleted the albums that were not my favorite albums or artists.
So, cab listen to that flash drive for hours & hours, & love everything I hear.
You can do that on the unit itself too, but easier to do on a computer.

do programmed tracks stay in the memory

can I program tracks from 5 cds, put into memory, turn off the unit and retrieve that program when I turn it on again?

I doubt it.

Can it play VOB files .. ?

I have VOB files made from my old VHS .. I would like to play them.

I don't think so.
MP3, WMA, & I forget the other filetype.
I played a WMA album on it last night, for the first time...& it sounded beautiful! Ace by Bob Weir.
