Great Headset
on October 17, 2014

When looking at this headset I was skeptical of its sound quality primarily because it was not 7.1 Dolby; however, I was completely wrong. The following is included: A40 wired headset, A40 microphone (detachable), MixAmp (puck that plugs into the control), ASTRO speaker tags, 3.3' A40 audio cable (used to connect to other devices) and 1.6' micro USB cable (used to update the control if need be)
Pros: style, sound quality (for being stereo), comfort, ease of use, and overall build quality.
Cons: Price, not 7.1 Dolby, color scheme.
Breaking down the cons: If you know ASTRO, you will know that their build quality and for this price you are definitely getting a great product. If you are interested in 7.1 Dolby, you will have to upgrade to the A50 $300 wireless version. Lastly, while I do not mind the current color scheme, I do wish there were more options as there are with the A50s.
Overall, if your budget is under 200$ then this headset just meets that mark. When looking at other headsets in this relative price point (XO Seven ($160) or Polk’s – 4 Shot ($160)) I would have to say this is the best headset I have tried. The comfort level is amazing, super lightweight does not hurt my head wearing it for hours on end. Sound quality is fantastic for being stereo.

Your favorite Xbox One games may be known for their arresting visuals, but there's also a rich, detailed soundscape that accompanies each virtual world. Good headset for price point
on October 13, 2014

From the way this headset was advertised at E3 and the subsequent months, they seemed to be pushing for the 'wireless' tag when they really are not 'wireless'. I am honestly confused why they labeled the adapter as ‘wireless’. In the box you get the 'wireless xbox adapter', which is essentially the same thing as the stereo adapter you can buy for 25$; you also get a micro-usb to usb cord to connect to your xbox one for the controller update, and of course the headset itself.
Cons: The ear cups are quite shallow, being roughly 1/2" deep, they did not really offer the comfort I was looking for; however, the fit really seems to be preference based as my brother did not mind it as much as I did and might work for those interested in buying the headset.
Pros: Price, sound quality, adjustable game/chat volume controls, retractable boom mic, and styling/color scheme.
When comparing these to Turtle Beaches XO Four headset, as they have similar price points, I would have to say the XO Four pulls ahead simply because the Polk's ear cups are really uncomfortable for me. They really don't come close, in my opinion, to the XO Seven's (160$) or Astro's A40 (Xbox One version released today (10/12) for 200$); then again, these two headsets are in completely different prices points which is why I was hesitant to bring them up when talking about a 90$ headset.
Overall, if your budget is less than 100$ I would suggest trying out this headset as you might not find the ear cups as uncomfortable as I did.
Hope this helps.

SideShowCollectibles.com is Pathetic

from CA
If anyone is planning on going to SildeShowCollectibles.com - DON'T...They are overpriced and not worth it.
The Gift card you get with this set only covers the item that you wish to purchase, it DOES NOT cover the tax or the shipping.....
So no matter what you will have to pay THEIR Outrageous shipping and Tax
Once you open the Gift set, take out the card and cut it up, becuase its pretty much worthless....Everything on the site is extremely over priced and not worth the shipping. Not to mention that they only let you choose from their extremely expensive items...
What's great about it: Blu-Ray DVD and Optimus
What's not so great: The Pathetic $50 Gift Card for SildeShowCollectibles.com
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
