Upcoming female artists to check out!
on January 5, 2010

Brooke Fraser is an upcoming Australian artist that is now breaking out in the States. Along the likes of A Fine Frenzy and Colbie Caillait, Brooke's voice is one of the silkiest and finest that one can hear in the music scene these days. She sings with angst and emotions, with a whispering rawness that one can grow so easily entangled in. GET THIS CD, IT'S A MUST BUY. Along with her newest one coming out!
What's great about it: All the songs are soothing and calming. Relaxing to listen to all the way through!
What's not so great: Nothing.

Paramore's lyrics have grown and matured
on September 30, 2009

I definitely became a big fan of Paramore the moment I heard Hayley's vocals and the band's music on "All we know is falling," however, when I heard "Brand New Eyes" for the first time, I wasn't fully impressed. I felt as though the heart felt emotions that one could hear and the band's authenticity of reaching out by mixing post-progressive yet indie music was no longer evident on this album. I also felt as though that unique sound that Paramore had started out with was no longer in play either. Although hayley's lyrics are emotional and full of depth, I feel as though her vocal stylings have changed as well to the point where I no longer feel as though they're unique as they were on the first and second album.
However, speaking as a musician, I feel as though as Paramore has dipped into other musical stylings, and have tried different things that they were not able to explore on previous albums. I guess ultimately, it just makes me sad that they'll never be the Paramore they once were when they first debuted with their first album only because that album has changed my life.
What's great about it: Hayley's lyrics reflect a great deal of emotions and experience.
What's not so great: The music has gone a bit more main stream and pop compared to "All we know is falling," and "riot!"

SUCH AN AMAZING R&B SINGER. HIS VOCALS ARE GREAT.

Jonny Craig has an epic voice and has been making an impact within the rock music scene the past few years. Not only is he showcasing his solo r&b side here, but he's really showcasing the fact that the man really can sing and he's not afraid to show his entire range. The only thing I didn't really enjoy was the music and how it was written for him to sing along to. But that's just my personal opinion! Overall, it's an amazing cd and has really great songs where you can really listen to the emotion in Johnny's voice. It's worth it!
What's great about it: It really showcases Johnny's r&b side and his solo side.
What's not so great: The instrumentals/music could've been a bit better.

AMAZING BAND! AMAZING SINGER!

I heard of these guys from Napster and started to listen to their stuff. I've been a fan of Jonny craig for awhile, so when I saw that he was featured on one of their tracks, I listened to it, and not only do the lead singer's vocals soar, but the music is epic. The instrumentals are really intricate.. plus the track with Jonny craig isn't so bad either! Craig owens from chiodos is also featured on the album. If you have the chance, please check BROADWAY out and spread the word!
What's great about it: They need to put out more songs!
What's not so great: Not many people know about them :(

A really great screamo band and album.

I really enjoyed this album. When I first got it, I thought it was going to sound like every other whiney screamo and emo band out there. But the vocals are really great, and the screamer's vox really stand out amongst the others. The hard riffed guitars and breakdowns are also really catchy. Buy this cd, it's worth it.
What's great about it: The screams are amazing, as well as the hard riffed guitars and singing.
What's not so great: Not enough songs!
