Jay4's Reviews

Protect your GPU with this EVGA HYBRID water cooler. Its all-in-one combination of liquid cooling, radiator and fan makes it easy to install and use. The copper base efficiently transfers heat away from electronics for significant temperature control. Nearly silent operation helps keep cabinet noise down with this EVGA HYBRID water cooler.

I will break down this review in 3 easy topics: Installation, Temperature results and Pros/Cons.
1. Installation- I have been building PC’s for a while now so the installation was pretty easy for me. So, if you have any experience in building and modifying PC hardware this will be a walk around the park. That being said, the instructions are useless and very confusing. What you see is what you get and what do I do next. Luckily there are many YouTube videos that can show you step by step how to install, Amen for that.
2. As you know these GPU cards (Nvidia Founders Edition GTX 1080) run superhot and not even overclocked. My temperatures will range between 45c to 81c while playing titles like Battlefield 1, Titanfall 2, and the Witcher 3 on a 4k monitor. As games in the future will become more demanding, you will need to overclock this card and run the risk of frying it. So here are my temps after installing the EVGA Hybrid, 33c to 53c while overclocking it. Keep in mind overclocking is an overkill for the GTX 1080 for now, but I did this for testing purposes. The result were truly amazing, I was able to cut over 20c in temperature.
3. CONS- Horrible instructions, the EVGA fan that it comes with this kit is HORRIBLE, 3pin, come on EVGA you can do better. This fan runs at full speed and super loud, so you need to purchase a PWM (4pin) fan. If you see my picture, it takes up a lot of space in my compact case, since I have 240mm radiator for my cpu. I think the price at $104 is a bit much since now they are selling hybrid/gtx1080 just under $700. PROS- I actually like the case look and the EVGA Hybrid logo that lights up in white not green, so it blends well with my case theme. The temperature results are phenomenal and needed for this card. Purchasing this kit will prolong the life of your GPU.
