The last remaining westside gangsta rapper story!
on August 23, 2011

From the documentary to his hundreds of beef starter songs, from 300 bars to the doctors advocate, from lax to the red album, it still holds true, that Game Is the truth, spittn real lyrics, hard hittn honesty from a Man that's living what he preaches! if Lax wasn't your red cup a Hennessy, lemme tell you, This is the documentary reborn! tight lyrics woven across some of Dre, Pharell, and other varied artists beats.
With a high emphasis on bass and light treb like Early 2000's gangsta rap, its easy to get wrapped up in the anger and beast feel you get through the first third of the album. the Middle third emphasizes the more easy listening/mainstream'd side of game, that despite some odd decisions, still shine with quality. Most of this portion shines with exceptional lyrics, however some lines in this portion (not from the Game) feel corny or out of place, such as Rick Ross's intro, E40's verse, and some lines from Jeezy but that's it. The last 3rd is a very welcomed classic side of hip hop that spity nuttin but Truth and Passion! Honestly, as a whole, there's nothin to complain about here. The music has enough variety in every song that nearly every song can stand alone, but the best way to listen through, hands down is strait through.
If your looking for the next chapter in Games rap story, there's tons of little hints and winks at whats going on with him in his life throughout most songs, and its great hearing classic artists like Dre and snoop back with Game! If your hoping for this to be Games Gangsta comeback, sorry but this isn't quite that. Many songs are Hard as hell, and really make you feel his force and emotion, but its not pure hard core. You get songs like The City and Ricky that have that Raw gang sense, but then there's songs like Speakers on Blast, while are by no means bad, feature the lighter party/self-confident side of game that was more present in Doctor's advocate and more underground work on the Black Wall Street Journal vol 1. then there's songs like hello, all the way gone, Pot of Gold, and Good girls gone bad, which show the more humanistic side of the man, with a bit of his west coast feel that add a great change of pace and lets us understand that he isn't a "martian or a goblin" (insert cleaver smile here.) Again, by no means bad, its still excellent music, just not the tupac some of us want to hear out of him.
One thing i really enjoyed in this album was the variety in lyrical pacing that typically isn't in Games albums usually there's one real kind of flow that carries the entire album, and its nice to see him explore multiple styles throughout. Along with that, the next best part of this entire album is that Its just so fluid in strait listening. As said earlier, every song can be standalone, but its just flat out amazing how its just so easy to be hooked into the album, and never feel like anything is out of place. in fact, its almost like a book separated by chapters, and every interlude from dre acts as the chapter spacer. its Just a beautiful think that isnt heard in recent albums surrounded by party music and auto tuning.
With all this said, the only disappointment is from the guest appearances. I was vastly upset When i realized Wayne didn't have a real verse, and E40 did nothing for me what-so-ever. However there are definatly Guests like drake and Kendrick Lamar who Make the album that much better!
if i had to pick highlights, The city, Ricky, All i Know and Martians vs. Goblins stick out the most for me. In terms of quality, Emotion, and the ability to become a classic, this is The Documentary Reborn, enough said. Its not the West coast's savior, but its the hero the west coast needs, and there isnt any other artist more real in the game right not that The Game himself, so Take time and Enjoy the magic!
What's great about it: PERSISTENT QUALITY RAP, WEST COAST REALNESS
What's not so great: E40, LACK OF REAL LIL WAYNE VERSE.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Trivium, minus a little bit of the special stuff.

To start, By no means am i gonna bash on this album what-so-ever! From start to finish this album is filled with polished material, great solos, excellently recorded vocals, great coordination between the new drummer and The dual guitarists, and to boot, adds some excellent acoustic work to break the mood a bit for those not looking for a complete hardcore experience.
Hands down the highlights of this album are "in waves", "a skylines severance", "built to fall", and the previous Gow3 exclusive "shattering the skies above", but all songs are crafted with great quality! In waves sets the tone for the entire album, encompassing rage and disparity, a mood seen in every song, especially when examining the lyrics. A skylines severance shows off the impressive drum work of new drummer nick augusto, and features some of the sickest solo's heard from heafy, Built to fall and dusk dismantled pull off some great breakdowns with the latter Pulling off probably the best harmonic on the album. For anyone who missed shattering the skies above back in 2009, congratulations, it might be your favorite song on the album, assuming you buy the digipak version.
With that said, that's my biggest disappointment with the album. Trivium with there past 2 albums shogun and the crusade, dove into there progressive side with songs such as the crusade, Torn between scylla and charybdis, and shogun, yet that seems to be missing which at least for me, was something i really was looking forward to. true its partially evident in some songs like in waves and Caustic are the ties that bind, but it just doesn't seem like enough for me. another thing that i kind of longing a bit more for, was the eastern philosophy/religious aspects that were so prevalent in past lyrics. it gave them a very unique taste in there previous albums that i was kinda hungry for again.
Aside from that, i dont feel i can knock trivium At all on this album! they pull off quality song after song, and manage to retain there individual essence in a world full of similar artists. That said, if your a fan of Split screamo, Highly technical riffs, Bullet for my valentine, As i lay dying, All that remains, or even newer Coheed n cambria, i guarantee there's something here for you that you'll enjoy. WELCOME TO THE TRIVIUM!
What's great about it: quality riff's, Great emotion, IN WAVES!
What's not so great: not enough progressive aspects, or eastern influence.

what happened to the origional BFMV?
on October 16, 2010

Poison, an album that made punk rockers go metal heads, an album that had a solid mix of emotion, stature, confidence, and fluid riffs to go along with its steady but speedy rythems... Scream Aim Fire, not quite as outstanding as poison, but still a solid enough album to pull off a quality soundtrack and deliver on an agressive ride that made the listener blast through sets of love and hate riffs, wishing the album was even longer than it it was..... and then theres fever...
Were to begin..... thats an extremly difficult question... lets start with the pro's shall we...
PROS.... Bullet brought back there origional americanized accent so it doesnt have that odd feel that scream aim fire had..., 2 songs on the album will have you feeling like your listening to there older music.
Now before you read this, please understand im putting alot of thought into what im saying and out of the sum 15,000 songs i own just in the metal/ rock genre alone... i will back up my opinion if nessesary...
CONS.... there is nothing origional about this cd whatsoever.... it would be really easy to just skim the first 30 seconds of every song and think that every song is different enough from themselves, that they all have there own speed, own flow, and continue the diversity that previous albums obtained.... but you would be sadly mistaken... Every song is completly pop metal, bringing "catchy" yet annoying lyrics that stick with simplistic rhymes you would hear from artists like soulja boy, every song sticks with the standard metal formula, being intro-verse-chorus-verse-chorus-breakdown-chorus.... listen for yourself and you'll get what im saying, and every song seems like they could be a single that lasts 2 weeks on the radio before everyone forgets it. on top of this, outside of the lead's voice, everythings feels like a shallow sellout that had neerly no heart in it at all. now given some of the breakdowns are cool, but the fact is that none of it is origional at all, even for them.
i realize that im gonna get a few thumbs down for what ive said, but if at least one person reads this and listens to this album on youtube or something, and realizes its not even worth the 7.99 price tag bestbuy is charging, then i have done my job and saved someone from wasting there money on absolute garbage.
I closing, there are only 3 cd's i own that i feel i never should ever have bought. these would be Hollywood Undead's Swan Songs, new world orphan (hed) p.e., and Bullet For My Valentine's Fever...
Dont Just Trust me,... check for yourself... save yourself the Fever....
What's great about it: i didnt waste more than 10 dollares...
What's not so great: i wasted 8.76...

When linkin park meets Red

when you initially hear this Group, weather its from there Core Screaming aggressive single "Eyesore", or there later released Passion song "100 Years" your gonna get Initially pulled into this Phenomenal Group. From there well synchronized instrumentally, to the suddle electronic melodies incorporated in about half of there songs, your gonna feel this bands aggression and message all throughout this band's 35 minutes of your time. Sadly, thats the worst part of this Cd, is the fact that Its only 35 minutes... which leave's you wanting so much more! On the bright side though, Every song is Fantastic and You'll probably want to listen to this album countless times!
Although this band is very well rounded in every aspect, the greatest part of every song's Lyrics are Weaved together in short story fashion's, yet have meaningful real life messages and reinforcements that boost every song to a different level depending on your mood or situation.
overall, i recommend this band to anyone who's into bands like Linkin Park, RED and ShineDown, or anyone who's nervous about getting into metal music and feel like they just wanna get there Toes Wet lol.
What's great about it: Everything from the lyrics to Music is Passionate and Well Produced
What's not so great: its only 35 minutes long! =((((((((((((

Outstanding For Avenged, but not for New Comers...
on August 4, 2010

from Seattle Washington
If you've hears any rescent Avenged sevenfold, such as there self titles, or City of Evil. you may think you know what your getting yourself into. the answer to that assumption is you are and your not. what your Gonna hear is a Tribute to Rev, Avenged Sevenfolds past drummer. This Album Is quite frankly there most emotional album yet, taking you through the twists and turns as previous albums, but with more anger, more sorrow, and more Mike Portney.
Im not going to Spoil anything for Fans or Lovers of Avenged, but i will say that you wont be wasting your money at all, and you'll definatly hear 5 of there best songs ever on the latter half of the album, partly because of the roll Mike Portney Played as Lead drummer.
For those that didnt know, Mike is the lead Drummer of Progressive metal band Dream Theater. Avenged invited him to play in rev's place, and he immediatly accepted. Because of this, The 3 progressive Metal songs found on this album Were given some Great Assistance, making there Final song of there album there best crack at the Genre yet!
However, there is one downfall the Nightmare album... If your a new comer to avenged sevenfold, i cannot recomend this album for you until you've checked out previous albums. This album, unless heard after there previous albums, will throw you off and give you a distaste for there Outstanding music. If your New, Do yourself a Favor and check out there older music first.
What's great about it: Avenged is back, More pasionate than ever
What's not so great: Not the right introduction for newer fans of the band

Awesome CD!
By HollowxTree from Douglasville, GA
Ok I personally loved this album. It's different in some ways from Fallen but the band is maturing and so is the sound. The songs on this CD are powerful and emotional.
Sweet Sacrifice:
Rating: 5 Stars
This song is one of my favorites on the Album. If you're
a fan of Evanescence's song "Going Under" Then this is a song you will definitely like.
Call Me When You're Sober:
Rating: 4 Stars
This song is about one of Amy Lee's previous relationships. It's just flat out to the point. The message is obvious in this song unlike the others.
Weight of the World:
Rating: 4 Stars
Heavy guitar sound and moody vocals don't even begin to describe this song. If you are a fan of their songs "Whisper" or "Haunted" Then you will definitely like this song.
Lithium:
Rating: 5 Stars
This song is so dark and emotional. It will blow you away. You can feel the emotions in this song. It really sticks in your head after you listen to it. I would recommend listening to this song if you like My Immortal or Imaginary.
Cloud Nine:
Rating: 4 Stars
Don't let the name deceive you. This song is not all soft and light. This song features heavy guitar sound and dark and emotional vocals. Think the sound as something like "Everybody's Fool" or "Bring me to Life". But this song is unique and one of my favorites.
Snow White Queen:
Rating: 5 Stars
In my opinion, this is one of the most emotional and dark songs on this album. The sound is creepy and the lyrics will leave you feeling like you just walked into a nightmare. The vocals definitely fit the mood of this song.
Lacrymosa:
Rating: 5 Stars
This song is one of my favorites on this album. The guitars are amazing in this song and the vocals are even better. You'll feel like you've stepped into another world when you listen to this song.
Like You:
Rating: 5 Stars
Another wonderful song. It's dark and emotional. It is in my opinion the second most emotional song on this album. You can definitely feel the pain in Amy's voice.
Lose Control:
Rating: 4 Stars
A song that I cannot quite describe. It's creepy and dark in it's own way.
The Only One:
Rating: 5 Stars
My third favorite song on this album. The lyrics are powerful and emotional. This is a song anyone can relate to. If you're looking for a dark and emotional song then this is the song for you. The lyrics are beautiful and like poetry
Your Star:
Rating: 5 Stars
My second favorite song on this album. The vocals are dark and emotional. This song is yet another one that just about anyone can relate to. You can feel the emotions in this song.
All That I'm Living For:
Rating: 4 Stars
There is really no way to describe this song without these three words:
Dark
Beautiful
Haunting
Good Enough:
Rating: 5 Stars
This is definitely my favorite song on the album. It is one of the only happy songs I have ever liked. It's an expression of love and moving on. I haven't found a song that has this kind of emotion in it. It's not exactly a love song. It's more then that. Much more.

I love that you gave an opinion on every song
August 20, 2010
but just to make sure that you understand, the only person who has evolved is amy, because everyone else left the band and created a band called we are the fallen. still, great review!
