Lizzygilly's Reviews

Kenny Ortega directs Bette Midler and Sarah Jessica Parker in the supernatural comedy Hocus Pocus, which arrives on DVD with a widescreen transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1. There are no supplemental materials of any consequence, making this a pedestrian release from Disney/Buena Vista that will appeal primarily to Midler enthusiasts.

Great Halloween Movie

I loved this movie when I was a kid, and I bought it when it first came out on dvd. It's a great story about a group of kids, that accidentally awakens Salem's most notorious witches, that had been burned at the stake hundreds of years ago. Of course, the adults don't believe them, and they have to figure out a way to stop them before the night is over. It's funny, it's got action, it's got suspense, and a wonderful number my Bette Midler. Can you ask for anything more?
What's great about it: Not too scary, perfect for the kids
What's not so great: Can be a little cheesy, but in a good way.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I've seen this show live 2xs now, and watched the DVD. Justin Timberlake is one of the best performers I have ever seen. I've now seen him, including with NSYNC, 6 times.
The great thing about this DVD is, when you're at the show, you only get to see one side of the stage, therefore only Justin half of the time. Yeah, he's on the projected screen, but it's not the same. On the DVD though, it's cut and edited so that you see him performing the entire time.
He sings, he dances, he plays the piano, he plays other instruments. He's brilliant. There's just no other way to describe it.
I would highly recommend this to anyone who is a Justin Timberlake fan. And if you're only the casual fan, watch this because this will bring you over the edge into full fledge fan.
What's great about it: The entire show, Justin is brilliant.
What's not so great: You aren't actually there. You can't actually reach out and touch him.
I would recommend this to a friend!
