These batteries will not hold a charge very long. Their self-discharge rate is absolutely awful. If I fully charge them, then store them for a week or two in a drawer, they are completely drained. Also, they failed to power a remote controlled car even when fully charged.
What's great about it: Rechargeable
What's not so great: Terrible self-discharge rate
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

"Coax) cable jack conectivity to HDMI input on new HDTV - suggestions ?

my cable providor enters my home with only coax and the inputs on my HDTV's don't accept coax, and I would like to use the HDMI on the TV - is there a cable converter, coax to HDMI or a box I could go into with Coax and come out HDMI ? And note I do not want to use the Cable providors box in this location where the TV is, where as I do use the Cable providos box on another TV in different room location - Thanks
You need to get an HD cable box from your cable company, it should have HDMI and component outputs.

What doI need for DVD and Wii to work on the same hookup?

I have a Samsung-46" 1080p 120Hz Flat-Panel LCD HDTV-LN46A650 SKU: 8753645. We've hooked up a DVD to the TV but we had to disconnect it to hook up a Wii console to the TV. What do I need to buy/how do I set up the TV so I can have both the DVD and Wii hooked up at the same time without disconnecting one or the other to use them? Thanks
If you only have a single video input (yellow RCA) for each, then you probably need to get one of them on a component input. If the DVD player doesn't have component ports, Nintendo sells a component adapter cable for the Wii.

What would be best for gaming and blu-ray?

The TV will be used mainly for the Xbox360 and we will add a blu-ray player to watch movies. We are looking at 40" for size and 1080p. What would be the best for gaming?
I just bought the Dynex 40", and it has very good input lag with my PS3. It is even faster than my Sony Bravia XBR4 without game/text mode enabled. If you need something with better sound (the Dynex speakers are pretty bad), either get some external speakers, or find another set.

occasional strange picture

I have a Panasonic Viera 42" 1080p/600hz plasma. It's the first HDTV/Plasma i've ever bought. The pictue quality is fantastic, even on my Low-Def Verizon FiOS TV(upgrading to HD package soon). Every now and then though, and this especially with overhead shots of, say, a body of water next to a city, I notice a strange checkerboard-like pattern in the water. It only seems to show up when the dark area is in the same screenshot as the light area. Also, as the actual picture moves across the screen, the squares get lighter and darker like they cant make up their mind which they want to be. Is this relatively normal for a Plasma, or should I be concerned? I have Geek Squad coming to calibrate it to the room it's in(a somewhat dimly lit basement/man cave in progress)in 2 days. Will it go away after that?
If you're not watching an HD picture, you are probably just seeing the artifacts of a 480i analog signal. Find something that will give you a 720 or 1080p video signal, or wait for your FiOS HD upgrade, and see if you continue to see it.
