LCD pros
1: Low Energy Consumption
2: LCD also reduces the amount of
glare on the screen
3: LCD screens are less likely to
suffer from image burn. If this
does occur, it’s easier to repair
than other types of TV’s
LCD cons
1: The viewing angle of an LCD TV is
typically not as great as Plasma
2: LCD TV’s can sometimes get dead
pixels
3: Brightness levels aren’t as great as
Plasma and it’s not possible to
display darks quite as dark
Plasma pros
1: Brightness and color are the major
advantages of Plasma
2: A plasma screen has wide viewing
angles which allow more people to
be able to watch TV comfortably
3:T he pixels of a Plasma screen are
lit individually, unlike LCD screens.
Because of this, the pixels can be
completely turned off to display
true black colors
Plasma cons
1: The lifespan of a Plasma TV is
much shorter than other types of
TV’s
2: Plasma screens are far more
susceptible to image burn (where
an image is “burned” onto the
screen when left on the screen too
long such as a network logo in the
bottom right corner of the screen
3: Plasma TV’s require a glass panel
to cover it. This glass can reflect
light and make it difficult to see the
picture
