Rhymesayers tends to never disappoint me, and they have yet to do so. Eyedea is one of the freshest underground MCs right now, in my opinion, and an amazing lyricist. His flow is just as good as it ever was, and he never fails to impress me. The music on this album is a step on the experimenting side as Abilities is now mixing alot of rock elements into it, and adds for an interesting overall experience. While I still enjoy First Born more, I do highly recommend this album for anyone with an open mind that appreciates some good hip-hop.
What's great about it: The lyrics, the experimentation in the music, great wordplay
What's not so great: Way too short, leaves you wanting more. Not as good as previous efforts, but still terrific.
While I havent actually sat down and listened to the actual soundtrack, I did have time to watch the movie. And i do so, prior to finding out who composed it(being a big fan of Patton's other work, it would've been completely obvious). I sat in the dark theatre and in the first five minutes, I found myself realizing that the composition of the film sounded alot like something i wouldve heard in something like Fantomas, or Mr.Bungle. And I found myself very pleased with the soundtrack and how it complimented the scenes in the movie throughout the rest of my watching experience. And it wasnt until the credits rolled that I realized that it was actually Patton, which made me a very happy camper.
What's great about it: Def. has a Patton feel to it.
What's not so great: i havent sat down and actually listened to the C.D.
This album is a waste of money, time, and life. I never in my life thought I would hear something that combines the worst things about rap and the worst things about rock into one genre. I am almost insulted that somebody put this out on best buy shelves. There is nothing smart, intelligent or clever about what they're doing. My stupidity increased with the listening of this band. If I could give this band a negative rating I would. Do not buy this.
