Gifted with the ability to communicate with Earthbound spirits, Melinda Gordon (Jennifer Love Hewitt) helps ghosts to resolve the issues from their life that have prevented them from crossing over from this world to the next. Despite the initial skepticism of her friends and colleagues, Melinda's uncanny knack for solving mysteries involving departed loved ones eventually speaks for itself. Also stars Aisha Tyler and David Conrad.
This show is for people who want to sit around crying all day. The one funny episode was great and it is unfortunate that more humor wasn't utilized in this show.
This show gets better each season. This season is about getting to know the characters. The plots are great and the actors seem like everyday people just trying to do their jobs in spite of red tape.

What's great about it: the acting and subplots
What's not so great: Less enjoyable than the folowing seasons
I love this show, but only the first three seasons have been released. The show gets better each season and it is frustrating that the best seasons aren't available.
I'm 60 and I've owned close to ten sets of the Tolkien collection since I was 19. That's because friends borrowed them and I knew I'd never see the books again. Like many fans of the books, I noticed everything missing from the trilogy movies in the theater and purchased the extended versions as soon as they came out. I still noticed differences, but P.J. captured the trilogy beautifully. That was quite a feat since it's so difficult to truly bring any great book to the screen. Unfortunately, P.J. did a poor job this time. I find no fault with the actors. The casting of Bilbo couldn't have been any better at trying to portray Bilbo's thoughts. The problem is that most of the Hobbit book centers on Bilbo's thoughts. Out of room.

What's great about it: the last third of the movie
Ever since slipping into Public Domain, The Big Trees has become one of the most accessible and oft-televised of Kirk Douglas' pictures. Douglas plays an unscrupulous lumberjack who covets the land owned by a religious sect. All that's saving him from being the film's main villain is the fact that there's an even nastier contingent out to claim the sect's territory. His greed tempered by the love of pious Eve Miller, Douglas turns out to be a good guy after all in the film's climax. Watch for Alan Hale Jr. as "Tiny," doubling for his own father, who appears in long-shot in the stock footage.

Although Kirk Douglas was a movie star, his acting abilities were often underrated. To really appreciate his skills I recommend watching several films that demonstrate his range. In this Hollywood bad guy turned good by the love of a woman plot, it is easy to get misled about his craft because he slips into this role and others like it so easily which gives the false impression that he is just a nice guy reading lines. As far as this movie is concerned, it is a nice film to unwind to at the end of the day. I call this a psychic plot because the viewer always knows what will happen next, but in this case it doesn't really matter. It is also a good movie to multitask to.
Bark at the moon with this release featuring the entire 22 episode run of She Wolf of London. When an American grad student is attacked by a werewolf during a study trip to the English moors, the curse of the full moon follows her all the way back to L.A.

I give this five stars even if the acting is cheesy and the sets are cheap. That's part of the beauty of it. I have been waiting for this to be released for many years.
What's great about it: satire about intensive PMS
What's not so great: It took so long to be released
