Besides all the party songs, good album

Animal by Kesha is an amazing debut for a couple of reasons. It's outrageous, mostly dance-able, and a couple songs hold deep meanings to them.
The first track "My love is your drug" is a clever comparison. As the title implies, Kesha is singing about how a certain boy is her "addiction" or obsession. She describes being "high" on this boys love and the lyrics can be associated with either using drugs or being in love. Nothing vulgar, just a nice double meaning in my opinion.
"Tik Tok" is the first single. Not the best song in my opinion, she has others with more meaningful lyrics.
"Take If Off" confuses me. I'm not sure what this song is about. Perhaps she's in a peepshow or a strip club, I'm not sure. Just a song about how she gets turned on when boys "take if off." Not the best song either.
"Kiss and Tell" is probably my favorite song on this album. It talks a boy being sexually promiscuous and how he couldn't keep it to himself.
"Stephen" is an interesting song. I've inferred by the somewhat creepy lyrics that this song was intended to sound like it was written when Kesha was drunk or otherwise mentally impaired. It's her singing about a guy she has a crush on.
"Blah blah blah" i believe is the second single. The beat is amazing, but the lyrics once again, not too meaningful. I believe this song is describing the typical hook up lines that guys use, and Kesha dismisses them in this song comparing them to blah blah blah.
"Hungover" is another favorite track of mine. This is the closest song to a ballad on this album, and it is absolutely amazing. Kesha describes being heart-broken and compares it to a hangover. Good song.
"Party at a rich dudes house" Ehh, another party song. It'll probably be the third single and people will be getting tired of her. I suppose this would be great in "party mix" CD or something, but once again the lyrics lack serious quality.
"Backstabber" is about.. exactly what it sounds like. The beat is good and the lyrics (although slightly cliche and predictable) are acceptable.
"Blind" is another song about a heart-break. A techno-rock, semi ballad. Hard to describe.
"Dinosaur" is probably my least favorite song on the entire album. The lyrics are a little too silly for my taste. The only reason i don't absolutely hate this song is because it's slightly funny and describes an interesting situation. Also i hate to admit this but the song is insanely catchy.
"Dancing with tears in my eyes" makes up for the horrors of Dinosaur. The title of the song (although kind of long) gives an accurate description of it. A song about hiding behind a mask, pretending everything is okay when it's not. This song has a deep meaning for me.
"Boots and Boys" is... a unique song. It's almost overtly sexy. Kesha describes how she loves .... boots and boys. Catchy chorus.
"Animal" is the title track and the closing song for the album. I think this a great way to end the album. This is one of those songs that seems ... infinite.
Going back to what i said in the beginning, Animal is a great debut album for a couple reasons. It is also a mediocre album due to the lyrics in a handful of the songs. There are 14 songs total, so i like to think of that as 2 bonus tracks.
Some of the songs contain profanity, but it's nothing worse than "PG-13." Most of the words are implied or edited, but there are a few instances where they are not. Either way, this does not deserve an "Explicit Content" label in my opinion.
The booklet is 6 pages, with glittery text. No lyrics, and the song information was a little hard to read.
Basically, If you enjoy a mix of party songs and heartbreak songs, or if the party songs don't bother you at all, you should enjoy this album.
What's great about it: Amazing beats, some songs have great lyrics
What's not so great: Some songs have primitive or trashy lyrics
I would recommend this to a friend!

This album is very sensual, sexy and at times, explicit.
It's not "rap" explicit, but the words are sprinkled in here and there.
The songs in the beginning are very sensual and sexy, while the songs towards the end are sweet and romantic.
This makes for good listening, or playing around the house when you have a date over for dinner.
The lyrics were not bad, there were a couple songs that had repetitive lyrics, but it wasn't a big deal for me.
Like i said, a soothing listen all the way through, some of the songs seem to drag on or get boring, but they shouldn't ruin the whole CD for you.
What's great about it: Nice Slow songs
What's not so great: No lyrics
