Great Soundbar when used with SRSZR5
on July 26, 2017
Posted by: mrxiro
from Los Angeles, CA
This is my first sound bar but I've been looking into getting one for quite a while. Previously I used a 5.1 receiver the HT-IS100 from Sony which had tiny golf ball sized speakers and a big sub that also output a majority the mids from the. The sound was OK an the speakers were easy to hide but ultimately the sound was very thin when watch movies and voices often got lost. I resorted to lowering the front L/R speakers to as quiet as possible and making the center as loud as possible which made it better but the sound was very thin.
This sound bar has VERY full sound and most importantly it has 4 HDMI ports (1 being ARC) that pass through 4K and HDR. The only thing missing is Dolby Atmos but I live in a smallish apartment so not a huge deal. The sound is fantastic when paired with the SRSZR5; which are a pricey $199 each. I tried without the wireless rear speaker add-ons and didn't love the sound. But considering most other soundbars at the 800-900 price range only have one HDMI in and out this is a best bang for your buck for a full surround sound with all the newest decoders. The vocals are still a little weak for my taste but they have a vocal booster that goes from 0 to 1 to 2. 2 seems like the best for me, as the SFX and mixed audio is very loud and powerful in the fronts. Probably why some people prefer having a center channel but IMO the center channel isn't always needed. I auditioned John Wick in TrueHD, Jurassic Park and 4K disc of Deadpool. All sounded great!
The only knock I have against this system is that you lose other sound fields if you add on the wireless rears. So no Sports or Game modes. Your choices are either Movie or Music after you add the rears and I honestly don't hear any difference between the two. DTS Neo 6 virtualization is really nice too!

So far so good.

My Hoover decided it didn't want to suck anymore after a year and a half so I was left either figuring how to fix it or just getting a new one. Since I know nothing about how to fix vacuums I just got a new one. I previously had a Bissel that lasted 7 or 8 years before it died so I decided to go back. This guy cleaned far more dust and dirt than the Hoover did and seems to do a really good job right now. We'll see how well it does in a year or two.
The only knocks on this vacuum is that the hose is kind of short and doesn't stretch very well (at least while it's new) and the cannister seems to get filled pretty fast, so it's probably smaller than I'm used to.
Definitely get this vacuum if you live in an apartment and just want something simple and cheap to clean up with. It certainly doesn't have the bells and whistles but it has a powered brush and the suction is good.

Unlike traditional, circular earbuds, the design of the EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other earbud-style headphones. The speakers inside the EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio. The EarPods with Lightning Connector also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.

Great pack in earbuds but not worth retail price

These are probably the best Pack In earbuds ever! BUT... they are NOT amazing and definitely not worth the $30 that Apple is asking for.
For roughly $10 more you can get great sounding headphones from Zero Audio that sound like $200 earbuds. There are also plenty of sub $50 options that are better such as Sony. I would suggest getting those and using the Lightning to 3.5mm jack adapter.
Unless you really prefer the Apple Earpods' fit over anything else I wouldn't buy these.

The best Fitbit!

This is by far the best Fitbit tracker built. It's not ugly like the Blaze and finally has texting alerts as well as calls unlike the Charge.
Even was able to convince my wife to join Fitbit after buying mine.
The charger is one of the best I've seen with it's clip. The previous models that plugged into the Fitbit started to fail after a while and wouldn't stay in or charge. Not sure how long this will last though. I had to exchange mine already since it started off with 7 days of battery but was only getting 3 days tops after a month.

Even with its 12.9-inch Retina display, the largest and most capable iPad ever is only 6.9mm thin and weighs just 1.57 pounds. It has a powerful A9X chip with 64-bit desktop-class architecture, four speaker audio, advanced iSight and FaceTime HD cameras, Wi-Fi and LTE connectivity¹, iCloud, the breakthrough Touch ID fingerprint sensor, and up to 10 hours of battery life.² It also includes great apps for productivity and creativity, as well as many more incredible apps available in the App Store. And with powerful new features in iOS 9 like multitasking, iPad Pro can do things no iPad has done before.

Great iPad but too big for my uses

First I have to say is that I love this iPad Pro! But I did end up returning it for the 9.7 inch iPad Pro. While this was a joy to use it was too big for my uses and portability. It's smaller than a laptop but I tend to use my tablets as more of a entertainment device than a work machine.
Drawing on it was really fun and the screen is gorgeous. If I had the money to spare this would be a great coffee table computer/tablet just to have in your living room while you watch TV etc.

I was actually debating buying one of these guys a few months ago just to have. Now I just have one. Thanks Best Buy!

Fun online "arcade-y" type game!!!
on November 27, 2015

If I could i would give this game a 3.5, but I'm rounding up because a 3 would be too low. The game is really pretty. One of the best looking games for the current gen systems! But it feels very unfinished. Like to meet deadlines they cut story minor gameplay details. The upgrade system is a bit too curved to "grinding" meaning you need to play hours and hours and hours of the game to be able to get the good gear for this game.
That said; this is Star Wars!!! From the sound effects of the blasters to the whir of the lightsabers you know what universe you're playing in! I'm hoping there will be some Destiny style support in the future where they add/rework a lot of stuff as the game ages. With the $50 (outrageously priced) DLC they better be supporting this game hard.
Meanwhile, having a blast playing online with friends and I can't really complain too much as this is the type of gameplay I enjoy. 20 on 20 battles are pretty amazing and a heck of a good time!

Perfected design, MUCH more reasonable price, Afte
on March 2, 2014

How Often Used:3-5 times a week
Last year I picked up and reviewed the MDR-1RBT headphones from Sony, this year they released a "budget" model, the MDR-10RBT and will also be releasing the MDR-1RBTmk2; which will have the same design as the 1RBT.
Since one of the issues I had previously was the quality and build of the 1RBT to begin with, the 10RBT has corrected everything I ever disliked about the "flagship" model of the line. The thinner headband (which is metal under the cushion) and more sleek lines are much appreciated for portable use. They picked up a few of the better design cues from the Parrot Zik headphones that were "designed by Stark"; mixing it with the better looking parts of the 1R line, for just a really good looking pair of headphones. These headphones also retail for $150 less than the 1RBTs and weigh a bit less. Some may feel that they used cheaper materials in the 10RBT but I certainly do not feel that way. The materials are on par, with the hinge of the ear cups having a wider turning radius in both directions than ANY of the Sony headphones I've used, besides the "DJ" models that turn all the way around. The ear cups themselves seem to be better stitched and look less "home sewn". The fit of the headphone is pretty loose, but not as loose as the 1RBTs. I prefer that they are a little more snug so I can get a good seal on my head to prevent the headphones from moving. I also have a pretty big head, though not enormous. I am comfortable with the adjustment down about 1 or 2 notches down on each side.
Sound quality is on-par with the 1RBT, I think these are slightly less bass-y and a tinge muddier on the low end but over the first 3 hours I used the 10RBTs they progressively got better and more sounded clear. So a burn-in is definitely necessary on these headphones. They will probably sound even better after a week or so. The sound stage on these headphones are VERY wide. So wide in fact that if the headphones move a little (like when I turn to look behind me) the sound actually changes slightly. I'm not sure if I like or dislike this, but it is a little jarring to hear the music change slightly when you turn your head. Most of my listening was done over Bluetooth while working out and though it was good, plugging in through the 3.5mm jack passthrough is where the top notch quality really is. Audio is definitely more crisp and volume levels are slightly higher when plugged in, not that it is what these headphones are for, but allowing the option for cable pass-though should be mandatory now on all BT headphones.
Going back to the design, which is what I love most about these guys. On the 1RBT all the ports (usb, 3.5mm) were covered, which for when you want to plug in you have to pull the tab off to charge or plug-in to listen. I hate this feature on any device, when you're plugged in to listen, it looks like you (very poorly) hacked your headphones, with the plastic flap kind of hanging down like your headphone had a hangnail. No longer! Both ports are uncovered (much like the Zik) and not only look seamless, they look down right "industrial sexy". The band around the ear cup is now silver painted instead of black and you would easily mistake them as brushed aluminum at first glance. Plugging a micro USB cable in for the first time feels tight. I wasn't sure it was all the way in at first, about 1mm of the metal plug actually sticks out, so don't try to jam it in too hard.
The buttons (VOL UP & DOWN; Power) as well as the toggle for REW,PLAY,FWD are all solid and give a nice throw when you click down on them. Unlike any previous Sony Headphones I've ever owned; the 10R line seems to turn the opposite way when you fold them in. previously my headphones always turned up as I placed them down on my neck. These actually turn down and the ear cup is against my shoulders when I have them around my neck... This is actually preferred by me as debris and dirt could fall into the ear cups while it's around your neck when they're turned up... Cudos to Sony for changing that up.
Everything about the 10RBT works better for me than the 1Rs and I'm happy Sony has made these changes. It's sleeker, sexier and still holds at LEAST 95% of the sound quality of it's more expensive cousin, but at a much more palatable price. I even would recommend getting these over the standard 10Rs, as for the $50 extra, it really is worth it to have the option of both Bluetooth or cabled. You'll need to purchase a cable that has controls (VOL, FF, REW,PLAY) on it if you prefer having those features on the cable though (which are included in the 1R). Sony even has added AAC and Apt-X bluetooth profiles this time around, something the 1R lacked... though most of you probably will never use it as no iPhones and many Android phones don't use Apt-X and generally most people don't encode in AAC unless they purchased their music from iTunes directly.
My one suggestion for headphones like this would be to have passive controls through the headphone controls when plugged in. It would require a specialized cable of course (that has the 3 stripped 3.5mm plug) but it would be great if when plugged in you can use the same controls as when you're using Bluetooth. As it is when you plug your 3.5mm jack into the headphone, the BT turns off and none of your controls can be used to control the phone.

Fantastic product! Can't wait for the next one!

Since this is essentially the first smart watch to get it right one needs to be more a little more lenient on reviewing it... but even when compared with everything else currently on the market this watch tops them all.
What's great about this watch is that it allows you to receive essentially any form of communication your phone receives and discreetly. I get my emails, text messages, IMs from Facebook, twitter messages and of course it alerts me when my phone rings. That is just the core feature out of the box.
Aside from that you can also control the FWD Play/Pause REW for the music app on your phone (I personally have an iPhone 5S) and are able to see the artist and song playing. If it were possible to get a little more in depth like pulling up playlists and such it would be nicer but that's the great thing about smart devices... someone can always write that into the software in the future.
The newly released App Store for Pebble is an amazing start. I've already downloaded clock faces that have all the daily info I am looking for; weather, date, day battery life and if I'm still connected to my phone. The apps so far are pretty good and I hope in time they get even better. Runkeeper surprised me the most as it's not an app on the watch itself but the app on your phone actually activates your watch and begins to keep your time/distance the second you start the app. That means it doesn't take up one of your precious 8 app/watchface slots on your watch!
This is also the first digital watch I've ever owned that is water proof... not that I've owned many watches in my time but the only ones I ever had as a kid were cheap casios and calculator watches that would die when wet. All my "nice" watches were always analog but waterproof and heavy.
The weight of this watch feels as if you're not wearing one at all. I've become so used to heavy watches that were burdensome this was like a breath of fresh air and light as a feather on my wrist.
Battery life is about 10% usage a day so it easily lasts a week and up to even a week and a half. Charging is relatively fast as about 2 hours gives it a full charge from empty.
The Pebble tops everything else on the market right now in terms of price and usability. It's a great little discreet tool that alerts you on events going on with your phone. Be it scheduled meetings, calls or email/messages. I pretty much leave my phone on silent now cause the watch can discreetly tell me what's going on and if it's urgent I get to it right away or if it's just a spam email.
Things they could improve for the next version would be make it better looking (A plastic version of the steel build would be nice), more save slots for apps, built in health monitor, ability to respond to texts (even if they are just generic canned responses like "Call you later") and more in depth music app integration.
But As a first generation product this is fantastic and I can't wait for the next version to come out... or even the next firmware update!

False advertisement: NO HDMI!
By jazzbird from Denver, CO
I just took this monitor home only to find out that I can't use it. Contrary to the specs listed on the Best Buy website, there is NO HDMI input on this monitor, only VGA and DVI (you can see the input ports on the last picture of the overview page if you scroll the pics to the right).
Since my new laptop only has HDMI out (no VGA), I must now decide whether to return the monitor or to shop around for an HDMI to DVI cable adaptor. I am not pleased, Dell/Best Buy.

Bad notes but it's a beautiful screen
October 31, 2012
I checked out this monitor and ultimately decided not to buy it because it did not have HDMI. But that is no reason to give it 1 star. The monitor is actually beautiful and was the best looking of all the monitors I saw displayed at Best Buy. at 169 it is VERY reasonable and quite the buy IMO. Best Buy and/or Dell did screw up in their notes about this monitor though. I got the new ViewSonic IPS monitor VX2370SMH-LED instead. For 10 more dollars at Best Buy it has HDMI and included speakers built in that look nice and have SRS Surround.

Excellent monitor. Purchased for my parents. I have a Dell dual monitor U2412M combo for myself I purchased in August. This panel is on par, however, the Ultrasharp still has a better picture as it should for twice the price. FYI.. this model, the S2340M is identical to the S2340L other than the 2340M has DVI and VGA inputs instead of HDMI and VGA inputs that the S2340L now has. it appears both are 2012 models and that Dell has decided to discontinue the 2340M after coming out with it in July 2012 whereas the 2340L came out in late October 2012.

I'm just curious... is THIS (s2340m) model with the DVI port the discontinued model or the model with the HDMI (s2340l) the discontinued model?
I thought that the (s2340) HDMI model came out first and has been discontinued. Am I mistaken?

Safari crashes when adding tab.

Bought yesterday and will take back. I was unaware of the Safari crash issue with ipad minis and Airs. Just google it and see. Follow the support forums on Apple to see what a problem this is. Very disappointing as I own iPad 2, MacBook Pro and Apple TV. How can an Apple native app not work on their own device?

It's not just adding a tab... I've gotten it to crash just opening up certain pages... I think it has to do with the 64-bit architecture... I'm sure it'll be fixed soon.

Shrug
By TechBugg from Baton Rouge, La
This watch was paired with my iPhone5. If you use your phone a lot, be prepared to charge the pebble because I was not able to go a full day without having to take the watch off to charge it. Off the bat, you can play music from your phone, but cannot control the volume. You are able to accept and decline calls, but only if you have an earbud/bluetooth in, otherwise you'd still have to fish for your phone if you accept the call. You can get weather updates and tinker around in the gigapet-like app store, but it lost my attention 2 days in. I did not feel the urge to go through every single compatible app to see if it can somehow be useful to my life. It's nice to get the updates on your wrist, but I'd rather keep my phone handy so I can speak to text or reply to my messages. Majority of the apps for this watch requires a companion app, which is a minus. The changeable watch straps are so-so. If you aren't allowed to have your phone out but enjoy looking at notifications from your social feed or text messages then this is a good product. It's almost chaos for me to add more to my list of items to charge as well as buy apps to make the watch useful. The watch kinda complicates life for me. I could go without this item. Maybe if they add a mic so that I am able to use voice commands then I would keep this item. It would be nice if it also came with a wireless earbud that attaches to the watch so I can accept calls without broadcasting my phone conversations while in public. Overall this is a good product, but doesn't work for me. It's almost like a boring updated beta product.

Maybe it's the user and not the watch.
February 28, 2014
I've have this watch for a week connected to my iPhone 5S and I can pretty much disprove many of your negative comments.
I'm not sure what apps you put on your watch but My watch dropped at a rate of about 10% a day... simple math dictates that it would last 10 days on a full charge.
Why would you want Pebble to give you a wireless headset? Don't you have one by now? If you're tech-forward enough to have an iPhone and a smart watch why would you not have at least 3 pairs of BT headsets lying around by now? I know I have a drawer full of them... You do know that you can connect a headset and a watch to your phone at the same time...
No you can't control the volume of your music from your watch... but if you had a pair of BT headphones or about 60% of the wired headphones sold (not including the one included with your iPhone) have a volume control on them already... music control is more so you can see what song is playing and skip or go back to it.
I'm not sure what you mean by changeable watch straps are "so-so" you know it's a standard watch strap size, right? There are literally thousands of watch straps you can get for this watch on the aftermarket... the included one is actually pretty nice and very light. Nothing fancy, for sure but it's the most comfortable watch I've bought in a long time. The whole watch is very light weight too... lightest one I've owned in well over a decade.
If you even look at the Pebble app store you'd see that the ratio of apps that don't need companion apps dwarfs needing on 5 to 1. Things like Runkeeper doesn't even need an "app" it just auto-connects when you start your exercise within the app.
The one thing you do have right is that it's missing a mic for replying to texts and such. Though you could easily do that if you were wearing the BT headset that you must not own. A reply button on the watch would be the only other missing thing.
It really sounds to me like you bought this with the sole intentions of disliking it and are completely reaching for reasons to return it. As an extensions device it does exactly what I want it to do. Alert me on things going on, on my phone without having to take my phone out of my pocket. I receive texts/FB messages/ Tweets and emails all on my wrist with a little vibration. When I run I can track my running progress without even touching the watch again after I start runkeeper. This watch is well ahead of its time and the only thing I would personally change is to have a touch screen over the clunky button interface... or have both.

Good, but not there yet.
By AdamG42 from Burbank, Ca
Bought the Pebble with high hopes, and the out of the box experience went smoothly, however, after a little time using it, I found that there is still no reason to really justify the "smartwatch" as a device yet.

What do you mean? This is an extension device... I receive emails and texts on it... if it's not important enough for me to take my phone out of my pocket I ignore it... if it is I answer right away... this thing has been awesome and does everything as advertised.
Please elaborate on what you mean...

Clear Sound, Good Quality
By Jerryspc from PA
Sony quality is great, Very Comfortable to wear . Pairs up with any device with the 3.0 or higher with just by putting the earmuff next to it. example: My windows phone pair in a few seconds, just by waving the phone over the right earmuff, same thing happen with the iPad and the iPhone. Love that feature.

Apple products don't have NFC. So the iPad and iPhone won't pair but touching the left ear cup.

Great value if you're still waiting to pick up an Xbox One. This game has been the only disc sitting in my console since it launched!

Game comes as a download. Not a disc. You may have an Xbox One but you didn't buy this bundle.

Great Smart Watch
By Chesswizard from Scarsdale, NY
I wanted a smart watch and feel in love with the new Steel Pebble watch. It looks great, and works very well, It send me messages and text, and keeps great time. It can add applications but that are not as sophisticated as I would like. Tells me who is calling when I am working and do not have to tai out my mobile phone, and send me text and notifications. I wish it could send me email messages. I love the watch!

You can receive email messages on the Pebble watch... not the full message but just a few lines.

Improve your audio experience with this 2.1-channel Sony sound bar. It lets you enjoy wireless streaming from radio services with its Wi-Fi connectivity, and its S-Force PRO Front Surround technology produces dynamic audio details. This 350W Sony sound bar supports playback of high-definition audio formats from Bluetooth-enabled devices with its LDAC technology.

is this sound bar Dolby atmos enabled?

Nope... The only great feature missing though... BUT Atmos at this point is like 3D movies... you only see it once in a while and only audio nerds will notice the difference. I'd skip ATMOS receivers for the time being to see if the trend grows. Also if you have vaulted ceilings or stucco you might have less of bounce effect from the up firing speakers of the ATMOS soundbars. A full 7 speaker array for ATMOS is really the only way to go otherwise you're kind of wasting your time and money. Also I haven't seen a ATMOS soundbar that also does DTS-HD or any of the other DTS formats which in my opinion is a better sounding experience.

Introducing a brand-new way to stay connected. Samsung Galaxy Gear keeps you updated with glance notifications, so you can keep up with calls, texts and emails.

Is the smart watch compatible with galaxy S2 lte?

I have a year left on my contact so I would like to know all phones it is compatible with?! I have the galaxy S2 lte, will the watch work????
All phone that use Bluetooth LE or Bluetooth 4.0 will work. As long as your S2 is updated past Gingerbread (If you've downloaded an update to your phone in the last year or 2 you're fine) your phone is supported.
