Canon EF-S 17–55mm f/2.8 IS USM Standard Zoom Lens: This Canon EF-S standard zoom lens combines a fast autofocus with image stabilizer technology for consistent image quality throughout the zoom range. A wide-open f/2.8 maximum aperture draws attention to your subject by creating a soft background blur, resulting in professional-quality portraits and scenic images, even in low-light settings.

Amazing lens lots of lights coming in, even in f/9 indoor in Av is still bright picture perfect to my canon body, 77mm filter big difference in my kit lens. Build quality of the 17-55. The lens has a good solid feel.
Nice bokeh at maximum aperture f/2.8. I wanted the Ultrasonic Motor (USM) feature, since this is known to be the fastest and quietest autofocus technology.
The image stabilizer-this feature is definitely worth it. It makes taking sharp pictures in every shot. I would recommend this lens..
What's great about it: f/2.8
What's not so great: nothing
I would recommend this to a friend!

Canon 55–250mm f/4–5.6 IS Telephoto Zoom Lens: A compact, lightweight and versatile lens for general-purpose telephoto photography. Optical image stabilization technology allows you to use slower shutter speeds without image blur. Plus a UD-glass lens element corrects chromatic aberration, for excellent image quality throughout the zoom range.
