Amp suggestion, 1995 Nissan Maxima factory Bose
My Bose factory installed stereo finally gave out after 15 years. Only had to replace the back speakers a few years ago.
Have purchased an Alpine head unit for about $200 (200W). Am planning on purchasing Pioneer 6 1/2 speakers rated at 240 W each pair (need two pair) when on sale.
I am not wanting to put too much money into this car, and don't have the inclination to hear the stereo outside the car or from in my house/down the block.
What suggestions does anyone have regarding an Amp? Need minimum of how many watts? (280W??) Would also like something low profile to fit under seat if possible.
Also, do I need a subwoofer, and if so, what is a good one that would be a reasonable price and in consideration of above? I am also in my 40's and doubt I can hear all of the nuances of a top notch system...any help is much appreciated.

i would buy something off the rms ratings on the speakers, but thats not passing remamber we want to feed the speakers not blow them up. example. i have two 12" pioneer premires at 1000 Rms and 3500watts max, so i put them in a ported box at 1.2 cubic feet of space [(each) in one box]. hooked put to two a 2500 max mono amp each. this mono block runs around 1250 watts rms at two ohms.(eack). back to your sys. Since theres only two component speakers, ( a pair) i would invest in a 2 channle amp. good brands are kenwood, alpine, fosget and kickers, you get the drift. for higher quality sound i would focus more on alpine and kenwood. Personally. but in the end you get for what you pay for. if you dont want too much bass a single 10" shallow mount would work just fine maybe really fine depending in what you put it in. easy rule of thumb is rock and things in that nature a sealed would be best. and ported for rap and music that the accuracy doesnt matter too much. but be careful some subs dont like being put in sealed boxes and visvera for ported. any more questions write me back. thanks
