Amazing!

Undoubtedly Sarah Brightman’s best solo release after “Harem” and in close caliber with her original Phantom recording, this CD highlights her amazing range and talent. All of the songs on here are beautiful, relaxing pieces, centered around a lush, “Garden of Eden” theme.
While there is an overwhelming "pop" theme present here, she mixes it up with basically a pop-turned-Italian-aria take on "My Heart Will Go On" from Titanic, a few modern tunes, a few classic opera pieces, and a few she even wrote herself.
Sarah's ethereal, angelic voice, as clear a soprano as I've ever heard, guides the music beautifully and never overpowers nor is lost behind it.
She shows both great strength and tenderness in her performance, and truly sings from her heart.
I highly recommend this album!

Great CD!

"Love Changes Everything" is one of Sarah Brightman's best albums. Alias the Andrew Lloyd Webber Collection: Volume Two, it showcases Sarah's great talent and flexibility as both as singer and and actress.
The 2005 release date is a little misleading, because as far as I can tell, none of these were recorded recently; but they are still a treasure to have, because many of them have been previously unreleased.
The whole album is extremely well peformed, and in contrast to some of her other collections, the songs here are far she gentler and less operatic.
"I Don't Know How To Love Him" is my favorite, and sounds even better than the original recording.
I highly recommend this album to anyone who is a fan of Ms. Brightman.
You won't be disappointed!

Originally broadcast on PBS , The Sarah Brightman Special: Harem - A Desert Fantasy comes to DVD from EMI. Filmed on-location in Morocco, the special is produced in support of her 2003 album Harem on EMI records and Harem World Tour 2004. Inspired by a Middle Eastern aesthetic, theatrical singer Brightman performs her vocal pop music in lavish surroundings. In addition to various desert landscapes, she also travels to the Atlas Mountains and the city of Ait ben Haddou. Brightman is joined by the London Symphony Orchestra and various Middle Eastern pop stars. Contains songs from the Harem album, including "What a Wonderful World," "It's a Beautiful Day," and "The War Is Over." Presented with a standard full frame transfer and Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound. Special features include behind-the-scenes footage and photo galleries.

Not as good as "Harem" World Tour, yet still good.

I am a very big fan of Sarah Brightman. Her "Harem" album and World Tour are probably the best work she has done to date, and I bought this DVD after being very impressed with the original "Harem" CD and the two tie-ins from the World Tour: Live in Las Vegas.
It's true: the locations are stunning, the music is fantastic, and, as always, Ms. Brightman is impeccable in her acting and choreography. The only complaint I have with this special is that it is really just a series of music videos. Perhaps it is just me, but I don't enjoy music videos as much as live performances, and to buy a fairly expensive DVD just for music videos is a little bit of a rip-off.
I did really enjoy the video for the title song "Harem", though the constant cut-backs and long shots of other people besides Sarah was a little trying. Still, it is a rather enjoyable DVD, and a great addition to your musical/video library if you enjoy Sarah Brightman.

A great Barry Manilow CD to add to your collection

I'm not usually a huge fan of Barry Manilow, but this CD is one of his best. Though most of the tracks on here are not your general 'showstoppers', some of them are pretty good songs, and are brought out nicely by Mr. Manilow's smooth vocals.
I don't profess to be an expert authority on musicals. Most of these tracks don't ring a bell for me, though there are a few great ones from some famoous musicals such as "Gypsy", "Babes in Arms", "Guys and Dolls". and "Les Miserables".
The first track, "Overture of Overtures", is a great amalgamation of various showstoppers from musicals throughout history, and is a fitting introduction to an album with nothing but showtunes.
To highlight some of my own personal showstoppers, I would like to start with my favorite track, "Fugue for Tinhorns" from "Guys and Dolls". It's a peppy, often a bit silly, and because he trios with Hinton Battle and Michael Crawford, who is coincidentially my favorite singer in the entire world, makes this stand out above all others for me.
"Real Live Girl" is another nice one. The exuberance Manilow exudes is refreshing, and balances out the slightly lonely nature of some of the other songs.
"Bring Him Home" is my third favorite. Very gently done, it is perhaps the biggest tear-jerker in the album, and puts a nice end to the large and extremely varied selection of broadway songs.
"Showstoppers" is packaged up very nicely, with an image of a lighted billboard, an image that is printed in a metallic relief on the disc itself.
In closing, though not all of the songs are terrific, there are enough standouts that make the $7 price tage completely worth every penny.

Great CD

This is an amazing CD. I am a big fan of "The Phantom of the Opera", and to find the music in an instrumental form is great. The nine songs on here are faithful to the original versions, and take on a complete life of their own when played on piano. The combination of the piano and strings make for an evocative, relaxing listen--it definitely brings back memories of the show!
What's great about it: Good sound quality, great performance, and good value for the money
