Nikon and Canon have NOTHING on THIS LENS

I've been the owner of the top gear both Canon and Nikon have offered, along with their top L and Nikkor lenses. I will admit after shelling out for a A7RII recently I swallowed hard to get one of these, but was almost certain it would maximize the results I wanted at the longer end. I was right. This lens is built along the lines of the top larger "L" series lenses Canon is so prized for. This however on a A7RII for example is instant to focus and extremely accurate to say the least. The OSS works wonders at least 4 stops or more. The BEST part of it all is if you are using the A7RII you will get essentially a 400mm lens equivalent when cropping. So it's smaller, lighter but built to those high standards one would be accustomed to with L or Nikkor top lenses, but without the weight or size penalty. Even wide open at f4 it is sharp enough to need no sharpening. I can't say enough wonderful things about this lens. Sure it's a bit pricey but it most certainly DOES deliver the image quality.

The Finest Lens Sony Makes

Sony makes a good number of quality FE lenses now. However of them ALL this one lens is the one that has NO negative characteristics and simply delivers not only the sharpest image a person could possibly ask for on either a A7II or a A7RII. It is a joy to hold as it's build is solid and smooth. Everything on the lens is quality and well executed including the smooth focus ring. The "bokeh" is about the finest one can get from any lens and easy to achieve as well. Focus is nice and quick and accurate. There is nothing but wonderful things to say and experience with this lens. It is in my opinion a MUST HAVE when you have an A series camera.

Having been a professional over the last 18 years while there are many opinions on what lens to walk around with on a vacation or just on the street, most professionals agree a 35mm perspective is the ideal. I fully agree. This lens is so very interesting. It is so small and light on a A7RII it's practically a pocket camera, however this is no question a lens that provides professional results. It is sharp wide open, makes NO noise focusing and is just a gem to use for landscapes, close ups of people with superb bokeh (out of focus area aside from the subject) and simply disappears from letting you know it's there regarding weight, as there is none to note. I consider this a "Must Have" for walk around wider use and indoors it proves it mettle to say the least.

I've been a professional digital photographer since 1999 having owned several Canon pro and half a dozen pro Nikon bodies and their top lenses. Multiple flashes and more along the way. DSLR's still rule regarding fast moving subjects in lower light, BUT this Sony A7RII is the NEW King of the Hill for shear image quality. It has the finest dynamic range, best low noise in higher ISO's and is a pure joy to use ditching the huge and heavy DSLR gear in general. To maximize one's results you are best off going with primes in the 20mm to 90mm range if possible as the resolution on this camera is so tremendous that in order to appreciate and realize it primes are the best lens choice I don't recommend the 24-70 f4 Zeiss as example for it's full of too many compromises. I recommend the 35mm f2.8 Zeiss for walk around and for serious and special results you can NOT beat the 55mm f1.8 being about perhaps their finest overall lens. If you need longer and can swing the price, there is NO question the 70-200G f4 lens is THE lens to own. Sharp wide open from one end to the other and solidly and professionally built. If you need a lens that can do it all don't hesitate to consider the FE 24-240 as it covers it ALL for general use. The HVL-43M is THE best flash for this camera no doubt. The plethora of picture adjustment possibilities are endless. The Jpeg results are by far the finest Sony has ever accomplished. RAW is no longer essential for dramatic results. The Video is industry leading for quality and so easy to use. I was amazed at the quality of the sound just from the built in mics. The screen is plenty large, bright and sharp. The buttons have a quality feel and are NOT mushy by any means. Its a lot of money but this is an ultimate body and deserves great lenses.

Pro Office Quality Build At An Affordable Price

I don't often trust the advice of many of the BestBuy reps, but when confronted with purchasing my first Laser printer the guy I spoke to made good sense. We hunted for just the right one that could be ordered as they don't carry them in store. This one was on sale and highly affordable for it's feature set. I figured I'd take a chance, as I really wasn't sold on the Brother brand.
When it arrived the box was i perfect shape with no dings so I trusted what was inside would also be fine. It was. Highly buttoned down with support tapes at all the critical areas of items that could move. Didn't even have to read a manual, it was so intuitive. The drivers and software and network ALL loaded easily without a hitch in short order. The build quality of this machine is leagues better than ANY Epson or Brother machine as well as any other HP I'd seen in the past. It was much more the build you expect from a Office grade machine to be sure, no cheap flimsy plastic parts and everything works solid like the paper trays and top scan and paper feed areas. It is a bit noise but I'm used to quiet inkjet machines that inhales their inks. This machine is unbelievably frugal and uses next to no toner. It is lighting fast as I typically generate 6-10 pages at a time and it takes seconds. The print is super crisp and defined. Even photos come out far superior to my former Epson inkjet photo printer, and super fast too. The operation overall instills a sense this machine will last a very long time. I've had HP inkjets in the past that were like most inkjet machines, cheap in manufacture quality. This one is a completely different animal. Glad I got the top pro model as it is so much more like the ones you expect in the office for thousands of dollars.

Blazing Accurate Auto Focus

First and foremost this is a sports shooters dream. Aim and fire and you can be assured of a flawless 12fps experience. The focus speed is blinding fast and accurate with more choices than you can count. The Jpeg engine of Sony has FINALLY been improved. You'll be tempted to shoot more in Jpeg than before as details are better retained without the characteristic Sony "smudging". The Viewfinder and LCD are simply "state of the art" good. The build is all magnesium, light but like a brick strong and weather sealed. The shear choices in custom setup assure you of it being just as you want it when you want it with custom memory setting provided as well. It is NOT a high ISO monster however. It's strong suits are without a doubt ISO50-ISO1600, Once you reach ISO3200 if you are viewing 100% on screen, however in print it's just fine. ISO 12800 is pretty bad from there on up, but most cameras are. It is a great professionally qualified tool. I feel it would easily keep up with a Canon 5DMkIII in all aspects other than high ISO. Not bad for an affordable body. Pair it with a 16-50 f2.8 kit lens and a 70-300G lens and you're good to go.
What's great about it: Focus choices and speeds, Viewfinder, LCD, Build Quality, Setup Choices, Low to Mid ISO File Quality
What's not so great: ISO Performance above ISO3200

The Consummate Minimalist Stand

Overall this stand has proved to be wonderful. It was super easy to put together without any tools via their superbly written instructions (which you just about NEVER see). All parts are bubble packed on cardboard plainly marked for ease of assembly. The glass is high quality as is the wood on the sides. The mounting pod for the panel was solid as a rock. The panel mounted easily and adjusted without any drama. It is the perfect height for viewing far across a room. The manner for concealing the wires was a bit more of a challenge as I routed them behind the pod rails with black Gorilla Tape and some black tie wraps so it worked just fine, just surprised they didn't make it easier. The holes in the back panels don't make for ideal routing without seeing the wires, but as I say I got around that so I really don't care. All in all this was a great choice and it looks and fits into the corner of our living room perfectly. The 55" Sony panel looks outstanding as does the home theater unit and satellite receiver on the top shelf. I have my center channel speaker on the 2nd shelf. Highly recommended.
What's great about it: Compact Size, Build Quality, Ease of Assembly, Pod For the TV Panel
What's not so great: Wire Concealment Wasn't as well implemented as I would have liked

This Sony KDL55W900A HDTV supports 3D and 2D images in 1080p resolution. To build a complete 3D home theater system, we recommend you purchase a 3D Blu-ray player, high-speed HDMI cable and an A/V receiver that is compatible with 3D products.

THE TV To Own In It's Price Range

I looked at all of the top flat panel TV's available that were not the 4k models. This one without a doubt had the finest contrast, black levels, accurate colors and best dynamic range of anything out there. The one that came closest was a top Panasonic Plasma and the new Samsung 8000 series, however when comparing them on high resolution photography it revealed that the Sony had the finest dynamic range (ability to discern between light and dark areas) and black levels. The look is pure sexy and the plethora of inputs and online abilities show Sony has stepped up their game. This model by the way has the SAME panel technology as their top line and highly touted 4K model which is 2x the price. The "Trilumonous" display shines with detail and color accuracy. Works in my home theater setup superbly. if you are looking in the $2300-$3000 price range look NO further. THIS is THE tv to own.

I'm sure if the price tag on this lens was $850 like their 70-300G Alpha lens it wouldn't surprise anyone. This is a finely machined metal and rubber lens that fits in your hand like a Italian leather glove. Extension and retraction of the lens is butter smooth. It just speaks quality to you when used. The Optical Image Stabilization is superb offering near 4 stop performance. The contrast and sharpness of this lens will easily remind anyone who has owned a Canon L or Nikkor pro lens of that level of quality and performance. The fact it is at or under $350 is just a bonus. This lens is pretty much a MUST HAVE for a NEX owner. The size surprised me as a fully expected a DSLR sized lens when it's much more like that offered by the Micro 4/3rd camera manufacturers at the 45-200mm range yet even a tad smaller. Having a NEX 5N with a 16mm f2.8 Pancake, kit 18-55 and this 55-210 lens is about all you'll likely ever need for all assignments.

The Clear Choice For Walk Around

if you are shooting with a SLT or other Alpha cropped sensor body this is without a question the highest level of performance you will receive out of a lens compatible with the system. From one end to the other it renders a sharp image across the focal plane even wide open. Color and contrast are simply another level. Some question whether this lens warrants the price above the other offerings. Simply put if you are particular and fussy about your results or are planning on printing above 8x10's there is NO comparison between this lens and others. Only a prime would get you there, and that would indeed be limiting. Build is excellent with tight tolerances. Focus speed is pretty much instant. Optical performance is what it delivers in spades.

Purchased tv on 06-02-13, delivered 06-07-13, on or about 07-08-13 picture started to flicker on bottom part of screen turned it of then back on, problem solved I thought! Every day since then it has gotten progressively worse then on upper left and upper right corners screen developed bright dots and and blurriness, I in turn called Best Buy support since I purchased a 2 yr extended warranty> I talked to Ron in support he diagnosed the problem as a bad display. I was referred to Vizio support and thats where the problems started! End result was since I stated the picture screen was getting hot to the touch where the blurriness is to unplug it and they will get back to me in 24 to 48 hrs. Vizio will NOT send out a tech until they hear back from there Safety support team. I stated to Liz there customer support supervisor this was not acceptable, well now I wait for a phone call from Liz, no tv no support or compassion from Vizio!

I thought when you get the extra protection Best Buy would just flat out replace the TV no questions asked with a brand new one. Why should you have to deal with the manufacturer's customer support....especially after paying for the extended warranty?

Will this lense be good for indoor volleyball?
I'm thinking of pairing this lens with an a6000. Will I be able to stop the action and reduce blurs at the a6000s 11 fps rate? Is the f rating good enough to stop the ball in mid-air with no blurring?
If you keep the shutter speed above 1/250th you should be fine, but you will certainly need good light.
