Had the dryer two weeks. It is already squeaking after it gets hot. A high pitched rubbing type of squeak. Makes me wonder about durability.
Huge capacity.
Best feature is being able to change which side the door hinges are on. Had to change ours from right side to left. Easy enough to do, but should have two people to do it. One to hold door other to screw the hinges in or out. Easy to use controls. Lots of options. Low temp works very well. Doesn't shrink clothes like our old dryer did. Use time dry for Sportswear cycle if you are drying two or three polyester wicking type sports items. (Tee shirt, compression shorts & shorts.) The dampness sensor will stop the machine after only a few minutes and the clothes will sit there damp. Lint screen seems very durable & easy to clean.
Chime to signal end of cycle isn't loud enough. Gas jet is pretty loud. Old dryer it was silent, but this is very noticeable when it is firing. Doesn't really get out the wrinkles in cotton clothes put in by the matching washer. It's a good dryer, but not great.
My Best Buy number: 2273268156
What's great about it: Huge capacity
What's not so great: Squeaks
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is a good washer, but we were expecting great. Best Buy had to replace first one because of excessive shake. (Floor is solid, machine level.) Second machine also shakes a lot, just not as much. Make sure you have at least a clear inch all around the washer with nothing touching otherwise you will have banging and rattling. Can't butt up to matching dryer. Really shakes with small loads. Long cycles, but there is a quick wash function. Cotton clothes get very wrinkled in this machine due to the high spin rate of the drum. This smashes the clothes against the side where many drain holes and agitation bumps add to the wrinkling. Detergent and softener tray is flimsy and I highly doubt it will last 10 years. Chime signal at end of cycle, not loud enough.
Pros: It's reasonably quiet. Gets the clothes clean. Gentler than an agitator. Sanitary & Allergen cycles are nice for medical lab coats and bedding. Controls are pretty intuitive, but I have to look up some. Lots of options. Make sure you use "HE" detergent. Has tub cleaning option.
Not sure if I will recommend this to friends.

Use of bleach in front loading washing machines?

Advice on use of bleach in front loading washing machines. Is it recommended?
Liquid or powdered? What works the best or is it no longer needed with the new features?
According to the instructions, you should use liquid bleach and only in the bleach dispenser. Powders will mess up the washer if put in the dispenser.
Powder bleach you have to add directly in the drum and it can spot the clothes. If you are talking color bleach, or Oxy boosters, I can find no reference. Try Ask.com or similar for recommendations.

Why does Best Buy not sell the matching dryer?

I am looking at purchasing MHWE950WW, but Best Buy does not sell the matching dryer. I would like to purchase the gas version, MGDE500VW. Is there any way Best Buy can order this? Why would Best Buy sell the washer but not the matching dryer?
I entered the number you listed above and did not get a washer. So I can't tell what washer you are referring to. I purchased an LG washer and it took some searching to find the matching gas dryer. (In fact, the rookie sales person told us there was NO matching gas dryer.) Find the matching electric dryer and there will usually be a reference in the related products for the gas model. In our case, the gas model was $100 more than the electric and that may be why it doesn't show. They DO carry matching gas units to almost all of their washers. Be persistent. Call the appliance hot line if the customer service people can't answer your question. (Ask the service rep for the number.)
