Cables are cables (no fail)

When I buy non-HDMI cables, I find there are 2 options for how the cable is: it performs or it fails. This cable is fine, connects your basic audio out jack (headphone jack) to a stereo sound of a tuner and such.

What's great about it: Functional/effective cable

What's not so great: color of the cord? (it's a cable people)

I would recommend this to a friend!

Scrubs Season 2--Need I say more? Commentary with John C. McGinley is great as well.

What's great about it: It's Scrubs, commentary by John C. McGinley

What's not so great: It's before the HD switch so it's fullscreen

Does Best Buy Repair DVD/VCR combo units

If the unit was purchased with a GSBTP protection plan (Geek Squad) then a service repair is possible. If the combo has a manufacturer's warranty that is still valid, you may be able to get a service return from customer service

Trade-in and/or recycling

This is a follow up to my previous question about what kind of VCR/DVD to get to work with my converter boxes. It's definately time to replace my current VCR. The problem is that it still records, but I can't get it to turn on or play back. And since I can't get it to turn on, the eject button doesn't work and the current tape is stuck in the VCR. If I buy a new combo device from Best Buy, can I bring in my current VCR for trade-in and/or recycling and can Geek Squad extract the current tape from my VCR? Any answers would be appreciated. Thank you!

9 times out of 10 the Geek Squad will be able to extract your vhs from your VCR. Additionally, there is no recycling fee on the VCR so you can take care of that right in the store after the tape is removed. As for your previous question about which to buy, DVD combos with tuners built in to them do NOT require any converter box and tend to be easier to use than a non-tuner combo that is connected to a converter box.

We have an Samsung 40" LED TV (model # UN40B6000VFXZA0 and a Samsung Blu-ray DVD Player (model BD-C5500C/XAA).
Problem: We have a very extensive VCR collection and something to play our tapes on. Suggestiond please.

There are several ways to approach this: first off, nearly all VCRs come with a composite cable setup (red-yellow-white) for which nearly all HDTVs additionally have inputs. Unfortunately, your picture and sound quality will be significantly reduced with the VCR/composite cable configuration. The best option is to find a DVD/VCR combo (with or without a tuner) that can upconvert to 1080p. Most of these combos can additionally dub vhs tapes to dvds. This will be probably your best bet.

Do you have DVD/VHS recorders?

I want to transfer old family videos on VHS to DVD's. Do you have a recorder to do that?

LG VHS/DVD Combo unit can 'dub' vhs to dvd and visa versa. It is also a comparable price for the high quality of the product.

Do any of the combo(VHS/DVD)units enable you to record dvd from exsisting vhs tape?

Yes. I know for a fact that the LG DVD/VHS Tuner combo can "dub" between the two, basically meaning that one can record a dvd to a vhs or a vhs to a dvd. I have begun to save my vhs collection to dvds to have a digital copy for them if and when the vhs tapes wear out.
