According to Google, there is a known issue when installing the Ultra in that if you have an ethernet cable attached, the install will not work. Their workaround is to install with wireless and after setup is complete then attach the ethernet cable. Unfortunately for me that has not worked. It does continue to work great via wifi, but immediately upon attaching an ethernet cable my phone can no longer find the Ultra. Hopefully they fix this issue. If not I'll have to return my purchase to BB.

Overpriced and difficult to learn. Bought this on a recommendation and I will never buy a MAC again! I cannot access my SD card because "I don't have permission". Never had that issue with my PC!

VERY DISAPOINTED WITH THE MAJIC JACK. WHEN SPEAKING TO BEST BUY ASSOCIATE THE SAID THERE WAS A SMALL CHARGE TO KEEP MY CURRENT PHONE NUMBER. WHEN CALLING TO SET UP THE ACCOUNT WITH MAGIC JACK IT WAS $40.00 JUST TO TRANSFER NUMBER AND ANOTHER $140.00 TO HAVE IT FOR 5 YEARS, AND 190.00 TO KEEP IT FOR A LIFE TIME OF THE NUMBER. Very nice looking Tv I mounted it on my wall with a full motion mount. I've had this for about a month now,
I've watched the Redsox blow thief playoffs, clear picture very smooth lines. I've seen Tom Brady make his debut and smoke the Browns and was impressed how smooth that was no blur and could almost see each grain of grass. Also just watched the Bruins play horrible in the first period and comeback to beat the bluejackets and no blur from the puck, that was the hardest test. I do think I need to mess with the picture settings a little more to brighten up some colors, not having a remote besides the tablet does take some getting used to, and overall I would buy this tv again the picture is great and clear for sure . Only downside to this tv is the sound definitely not high quality in that department but if you throw a soundbar on it I imagine it would be perfect

I purchased a Sony X940D($4500) and hockey, my favorite sport, is unwatchable. As the players skate up the ice they leave motion blur behind themselves. I feel like I'm watching 10 players and 10 ghosts on the screen at the same time.
I'm currently waiting on a RMA from Sony.
Good to know that you can watch hockey on the Vizio. I think I'll save some cash and give it a try.

Firstly I would like to say that this Is a fantastic display for the money! 75 inches Is the way to go and if your home theater has the adequate space needed you can't go wrong. I had my Vizio installed on a wall mount it's a very attractive minimalist design that really helps to bring out the decor in my theater room. Now..that being said there are a couple of gripes I must acknowledge about a display of this caliber.
Panel issue and gray scale alignment:
This is my second P-75 mainly due to the infamous dirty screen effect caused primarily by panel bonding in the manufacturing process. I had noticed (especially when playing racing video games) that when driving, scenes that pan from left to right show slight semi transparent veritcal lines on screen. But when you stop or you race in a straight line it's crystal clear, the same with movies.. camera pans left to right or vice versa shows slight vertical lines.

I called Vizio (which has outstanding customer service by the way) decided to send me another P-75 to see if that would fix the issue but unfortunatly it was the same story, after calling again I was finally connected to someone that was familiar with the issue I was surprised to hear that the engineers considered this within the acceptable performance levels given all the other technology cramed into the P-75 display. Which incorporated in other displays would cost at least $2500.00 more to purchase. He also stated that upcoming firmware updates may help with the issue as well..nice guy.
Ok..fair enough but coming from just buying plasmas for years (none of which has ever had this issue) and still using two of them I just couldn't understand with all the competition around..why would Vizio release such a great product with a inherent flaw that most videophiles would see? So, I did some research.. come to find out that most of the manufactures of LCD 4k TV's have this issue with the panels during the manufacturing process including (get ready) OLED! They haven't figured a way to make the bonding process so precise as to elimate all irregularities within the panel. That's when they perform various quality control checks to determine if it meets the acceptable margins of error/ industrial standards, yea or nea. Obviously my P-75 is a yea.
It's just that the average consumer doesn't notice or it isn't enough to warrant an exchange or refund. (I can be a bit picky about these things) I asked my soul mate if she could see what I was seeing and until I actually pointed out the discrepancy she couldn't. I decided not to call Vizio again because from what I read if I've already received two separate dispalys with the same issue it's probably inherent in all the P-75 displays, It's not so bad to warrant the display to be returned again and finding out that even $6000.00 displays can have the same issue I decided to keep it! After all It trully is a awesome display and it's positives really out shine it's negatives.
Facts: (for me anyway)
1.The issue is mosly apparent In racing sims but not so apparent in fighting or first person shooters.

2. Getting a UP CONVERTING 4K CABLE is a MUST! It's a 4K display you WILL get signal compression artifacts! That's a given!! Getting a reliable 4K up converting cable really improves everything you show on this fabulous device even more! Makes your blu rays and games look close to native 4k with a huge amount of signal noise and artifact reduction! (also helped with my dirty line issue.)
3. The overall picture quality beats my Panasonic 65 inch Infinate Black Pro plasma dislpay for contrast and overall black level! WOW!!
4. While I personally think the andriod/display control device Is a great idea that could possibly usher in a new way to control our display devices in the future I find myself using my Harmony remote 98% of the time. The android device is still a bit too slow and sometimes it won't connect to the display properly.

Dirty screen

Can I assume you see this dirty screen effect on white backgrounds such as during a hockey game? I'm not a gamer. I watch sports, and mostly hockey. Many TVs have an issue with action against a white background. Unfortunately this is hard to test in Best Buy as they don't have hockey games in their TV demo loops.

Hello and thanks for the suggestion. I returned my Ultra to BB and tried another one and had the same issue. My post on Google's support site has grown quite a bit, with lots of customers like myself, having the same issue.
My feeling is that a product shouldn't be rolled out the door until it works like it is supposed to.
The good news is that most people will use this device with wifi and will never have the ethernet issue. In my case, I was using it on a TV that sat right next to my router so it just made sense to try and use a direct connection like I have for my TV and DVD player. Ultra HD(4K) requires a solid 25mbps stream and while I can get that wirelessly 95% of the time, I can get it via ethernet 100% of the time.
The only reason I bought the Ultra was to be able to stream NHL Center Ice and Sony Vue, because my TV didn't have those 2 apps built in. I ended up getting a Roku Ultra, with its rudimentary interface, and I'm good to go now.

I've tested it with a number of different Android phones and tablets as well as iOS phones and tablets and it works great on all.

Will it support MLB and NHL?
Works with NHL. I bought it just for that purpose. I would assume it works with the MLB app as well.

Will this stream live TV to my non smart TV, and do I have to use my cell phone as a remote?
You can use any Android or iOS smartphone and/or tablet. You download the Google Home app to make everything work.
As for what you can stream, that depends. First, your TV doesn't have to be Smart, but it must have a HDMI input. Next, whatever you want to "cast" to your tv must have that option available within the app. Apps such as Hulu, Netflix, NHL Center Ice, You Tube, etc, all have a cast option. You simply start watching on your phone, then hit the cast icon and boom, it is on your tv. Your phone/tablet screen can power off and the picture will still cast to your TV. You can even multitask and use your phone/tablet for other things while watching TV.
Pretty cool stuff.
