Now, I'm as much of a fan of hot (animated) chicks as the next guy. And I know for a fact that they will not just fall from out of your dreams and into your lap (which is what the anime industry wants you to believe).
I thought this show was awesome because, unlike Xebec's Negima, it featured all of the girls and their habits. And it made use of creator Ken Akamatsu's stories. They're at the beach. They're visiting a bath house...
But one of the traits I hated the most about the anime industry is when they tag their works with stuff that didn't need to be there in the first place. For this show; it's the green frog-looking thing, the trademark "long cat," that "Chupacabra." What's up with that?
What's great about it: Hot young girls in swimsuits or less.
What's not so great: SHAFT's inability to exclude their personal baggage.
As of now the hardliner anime fandom seems to have this issue against young guys. They either must be punching bags or wimps, cross-dressers, or voiced by women. Else: "It's Shounen Jump garbage," "he's an obstacle to the hot girls who hover around him," and "he needs to be dealt with."
Not everybody understood that the reason why Geneon fell of the US anime market's map was because of the catering to said hardliners.
With that being said; the Negima series atleast tries to get on the good side of the anime fandom. 31+ cute girls, one cute and determined young guy, a whole lot of zaniness based on the ongoing manga. And this is all despite the choppiness of the animation done by Xebec.
Peace and "what's up" to Greg Ayers (Negi Springfield's English VA), and the rest of the crew at FUNimation for doing the best they can with this title and its sequal.
What's great about it: Nice direction with the storyline, great work from the voice acting people
What's not so great: It tries to be the movie "Bring It On"
There's some hatred going on from anime fans toward GONZO, the company that created this show. It did poorly in Japan despite how EPIC this show is.
Which is a shame since GONZO can prove that a great show can be made without emphasizing on the idea of beating up on the weak.
No. This epic series is about the strength of humanity and the consequences of their actions. It can do without the lame computer-generated ships and their battles. But hey; nobody's perfect.
What's great about it: The characters, the swordplay, the voice-acting.
What's not so great: The lame computer-generated space ships.
This series contains an "eternal victim" known as Youhet Sunohara; a character whose sole purpose is to get beaten up, no matter what he does, merely for the sake of laughs.
He, and the companies who created the "visual novel" before another company animated it, are the sole reason why a lot of the anime from Japan are not worth your hard earned money. And the only people who would enjoy a title like this are those who enjoy seeing people get their rear ends handed to them without fighting back.
