Good wireless subwoofer connection
on December 18, 2013

I bought this item with a sub-woofer and I had my A/V receiver auto calibrate the addition of the sub (sub gain at max). The wireless receiver unit is about fifteen feet straight line distance from the wireless sender unit with a clear line of sight between the two (other than an occasional person walking between them). My units were constantly dropping their connection even when nothing has physically changed about the room. After doing some messing around with the speaker settings on my A/V receiver I discovered the signal coming out of the A/V receiver was too weak causing the wireless sender unit to go into standby mode. I maxed out the output level for the sub on my A/V receiver and turned the gain down on the sub and I haven't had a problem since. Rocketfish needs to make these units more sensitive to the audio signal to avoid such problems. Other than the setup issue this is a great product when it's quirk is figured out.
My Best Buy number: 0557439247
What's great about it: Good price, small units
What's not so great: Not sensitive enough
I would recommend this to a friend!

Drops Connection
By Underhill from Rhode Island
I purchased this in August, and initially it seemed to work. Then I started noticing the absence of a subwoofer sound. When I checked the wireless transmitters, the LED's were red instead of blue, which means they had no connection. Because the devices go to sleep if there's no subwoofer traffic, it was difficult to know whether the wireless, subwoofer, or other devices were to blame, the problem took a while to sort out.
After working with a support technician at the Geek Squad call-in number, who showed me how to reboot the device and reconnect, I got the devices to connect for a short period and then disconnect. As a result, I brought the kit back to my local Best Buy, where I was able to exchange my device for another. But the problems persisted.
Of course diagnosing the problem took longer than the 15-day return period Best Buy offers, so I can't even return it.
This product just doesn't work.

Similar Connection Dropping Problem
December 18, 2013
I seem to have the same problem as you described in your review. Did you discover the actual problem to your scenario? My receiver unit is about fifteen feet straight line distance from the transmitter unit with a clear line of sight between the two (other than an occasional person walking between them). My units are constantly dropping their connection even when nothing has physically changed about the room. I have the belief it's signal interference with other wireless devices in the house that's to blame but I'd like to hear what you discovered.

Will this work with a 15 year old Kenwood Sub?

It'll work with any powered sub-woofer with a RCA input.

stopped working please help

it stoppped working and I keep trying to reconnect..Help please
Try turning up the sub-woofers output level on your A/V receiver (I set mine to the max level and lowered the gain on my sub to suit my taste). These units aren't sensitive enough to detect all incoming signals only those of a certain level.
