Love Dylan?- buy this. If not, buy the 2cd set
on September 16, 2013

I'm a big fan of Dylan and The Bootleg Series. I especially love the stuff that goes waaaay back (this volume focuses on the late 60's early 70's). The draw with this deluxe set is the complete Isle of Wight recording of the show from '69 and the artwork/packaging. I understand where folks are coming from when they say this is/may be overpriced, but to most Dylan heads it just won't matter. The regular version (discs 1 and 2) are solid and around $20. Some of the extras may be available in a few weeks/ months separately, but for my money and my appreciation of Dylan, it was worth the drive to San Carlos after BB cancelled my backorder.
My Best Buy number: 162256673
What's great about it: Isle of Wight Bonus Disc and, of course, discs 1 and 2
What's not so great: Price might scare off fairweathers. Fourth CD is just Remaster. Backordered (everywhere)
I would recommend this to a friend!

Dylan heads - save your money

A semi-decent intro for those unfamiliar with Dylan. Folks who own the legit Dylan movies and documentaries might be a little dissapointed. I hit "yes" as a recommendation to a friend, only because i MIGHT recommend it to a new Dylan head.

What's not so great: Poorly produced, not as much footage of and words from Dylan as you'd expect

good for newbies to Dylan

Always nice to have a Dylan collection. Great for someone who wants to get into Dylan or for those of us who want to have every release. If you're sort of into Dylan save your money as you might already have a lot of the stuff on here. Great 3 CD set either way.
