One of the Best Tablets available
on February 8, 2014

This is a fantastic tablet. I was waiting to buy a REAL tablet which would allow me to do more than surf the internet, play games and listen to music. It is very powerful and quite capable of running the applications which I need. I am running Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and will be installing an older version of Office. It runs these applications with no problems at all. The minor applications of course run with ease.
I am running Nikon Camera Control Pro 2 and able to tether my Nikon camera and take pictures so this really provides the functionality I was looking for in a portable COMPUTER which I can easily take with me on camera shoots and connect my camera to.
I am easily able to Remote Desktop into other computers and work on them if required.
It is taking a while to get used to the touch screen and using the stylus.
I wish it came with a pressure sensitive stylus. I wish the type cover was less expensive, but it acts as both a keyboard/mouse as well as cover so I guess I should not complain. I wish the memory was user upgradeable.
The iPad is a toy with minimal real life usage for me. The Android tablets are a little better but Android drives me nuts with the upgrades and lack of backward compatibility.
This tablet has a powerful processor and is a major step to the future of what we will all be running. I will be using this for many years to come and feel that the build quality will give me a very long lifespan.
I really like the screen resolution. It provides an excellent screen resolution and the screen quality makes it easy to see and read everything on the screen. Of course there is the zoom capabilities if I need to zoom in on anything.
The recent discounted price is what moved me to buy this tablet and I am very happy with the purchase. The newer Surface Pro 2 is a very nice tablet as well but I am just cheap.

Wonderful remote for the price

This is a wonderful remote overall. I have used this remote as well as the prior model (600) for several years. I am overall very pleased with the ease of use. The programming interface is a little archaic, but workable. Since this was a replacement it was easy to setup this remote with the settings from my prior remote.
One thing which aggravates me about the Logitech remotes is that the buttons will stop functioning over time from use. This takes quite some time for it to occur (1.5 to two years or so), but it always occurs. I have used Logitech remotes for over 8 years now and am really pleased with them, as well as their support. But I wish they would make the switches for their buttons a little more long lasting. The buttons on this newer version of the 650 model appear to be better but only time will tell.
But, since I got this on sale over the holidays, I am very pleased with the price and its performance and look forward to using it for the next two years or longer(probably) with no problems.

I really like the espresso which this machine makes. It is easy to use. Two complaints, I had to remove a loose piece of plastic from the frothing tube which was left over from manufacturing. Once I removed it I was able to froth milk easily. The other issue I have is that it takes two runs to make the two cups of espresso. I have to let it warm up, run the pump, wait after the light goes off and run it again. Even if I make more than one set of shots in sequence I still have to follow this pattern.
These may be significant issues to others but I do not mind, especially for the price. Anything competitive to this in espresso quality is more than double the price.

I was using some other brands of cards in addition to the Sandisk cards. Over time I started observing the performance of the cards. I have a Nikon D800 which creates large files and sometimes I shoot High School sports in continuous shooting mode. This card is faster than the other class 10 cards I have and allows me to take more shots in continuous mode before slowing down like the other cards do. From now on I am going to buy Sandisk cards even through they are a little pricier. Best Buy often has the Sandisk cards on sale and that is when I will purchase them.

Very nice mouse for the money

This is my second M310 mouse. I bought the first one for my business laptop because I do not like using the on board touch pad (I actually like it disabled). When I purchased my personal laptop I bought this second mouse for use with it. The mouse does exactly what I need and the battery life is fantastic. I have had the first mouse for 9 months and have used it at least 5 days a week, all day, and it is still on its first battery.
It is a basic mouse and occasionally I miss the forward and back buttons on other mice I own. But this is a wonderful mouse for use in business and photo editing with a laptop. I did look at the smaller mice for portability but like the full size much better.
What's great about it: It fits well in my hand and is smooth in all of its workings
What's not so great: Nothing which the price would justify

This is a Nikon battery for the D800 camera. Not much to say. It works as it is supposed to and lasts a LONG time before a recharge is required. I bought this to have a second battery available. It is what I expected. From past experiences I will definitely continue to buy Nikon brand products for my camera and not third party.

Fantastic product - Nikon made this well

Note, this is a professional camera. This has a lot of capabilities and functionality. This is not a point and shoot camera and is not for the ordinary consumer.
With that said, this is a fantastic camera. The pictures are amazing and the ease of use if wonderful after you have gotten used to the controls.
As said, this is a professional camera. It is very well built and durable. Along with that comes the fact that it is a rather heavy camera when compared to the consumer and pro-sumer level Nikon cameras (D7000, etc).
It does work very well with DX lenses but it shines when using the FX lenses which allow the full sensor to work. I have had a couple of very minor qualms about usability and information availability but they are easily dismissed when compared to the capabilities of this camera and the quality of the pictures which it takes.
If you are a very experienced and avid hobbyist then this is an excellent camera to step into the FX format from a DX camera. But, if you are not going to invest in FX lenses at the same time then you are wasting your money on the capabilities of this camera, buy a D7000 instead.
The ISO range is amazing and the lack of noise is wonderful at the higher ISOs, even when using DX lenses.
I have not used it for sports yet but I am definitely going to use my monopod with this camera when shooting sports. It gets very heavy after extended use and a monopod will definitely help.
This past weekend the child of our friends had a wedding. I took some 'candid' shots throughout the ceremony and the reception. Everyone who has seen them commented on their quality prior to me even touching them with Photoshop
Nikon has resolved the focus problem with earlier manufactured versions of this camera and all which are being shipped now have no problems with the focus. This problem would probably not be noticed by most users except extremely avid hobbyist and professional photographers.
What's great about it: Great Pictures - excellent camera
What's not so great: Price - it is not free

Great laptop for the price

This is a great laptop once you remove all of the bloatware which HP has installed. There are several services which make this laptop extremely slow until you remove them. First thing, turn off all biometrics security.
Once the bloatware is removed the performance increases to where it should be for an i3 laptop. The monitor is very nice.
This laptop was purchase for my wife and she loves it. It is nice to have the tap to turn off the touchpad. I installed the Adobe Creative Suite for my wife and it runs very nicely.
But, remember, remove all of the bloatware. If you do not remove the bloatware you may not like the performance. The laptop preforms just fine when the bloatware is removed but it runs fairly slow if it is left installed and running.
What's great about it: performance and size
What's not so great: bloatware

Great product, worth the money.

This is a great machine. I owned the model just below this one for years and was very happy with it. After a while it started to break (plastic cracks) and I gave it to a charity which still uses it. I stepped up to this one. Reviewed this and the Bissel and decided to stick with the Hoover from past experiences and liked the brushes better than the rollers. Also, did not like the Bissel with the bladder for the return water in with the clean water.
IMPORTANT - it is plastic. Do not try to force any of the containers or other parts. Just use a little care and nothing will break. The containers all sit in their positions just right and, if you take an extra second or two, they just slide in and snap in place. Forcing plastic will break it, just a fact of life.
I read somewhere else that you do not just clean the floors and put the product away. You must clean out the hair and carpet fibers from the brushes to avoid them drying in place. It is also a good idea to occassionally clean them the hair from the brushes occassionally while you are doing a larger floor if you have animals (of which I have several). This keeps the brushes from failing to turn.
Great product. Just take care of it. It is not made of metal but plastic. Be gentle but firm and it will work for a long time, just like my other Hoover.
What's great about it: Does a great job, easy to use, wash/rinse switch
What's not so great: Could be a little sturdier

Good Image Quality, Great Price, Horrible Handling
By jase1125 from dallas, tx
The D800 offers photographers resolution near what is offered by medium format cameras at an incredible price. The higher pixel density does introduce a little more noise, but it cleans up pretty well with Lightroom, Neat Image, Topaz DeNoise or similar noise reduction applications while maintaining great detail. Ironically, the D800 is worth consideration from wildlife and bird photographers even though it only captures 4 frames per second in FX mode. The ability to crop the image significantly at lower ISO's allows one to save as the need for expensive telephoto lenses is negated somewhat. For the best image quality however, one will still want to use a long telephoto. While the D800 is a great camera, there are many compromises and shortcomings to be aware of:
1. Ergonomics are horrible. After shooting with one for only 20 minutes, my right hand ached. I tried several times to get use to ergonomics and my hand would always start hurting. One might be able to remedy this buy adding a battery grip. I did not attempt that.
2. The higher density sensor has more noise at the pixel level. Downsizing will reduce the noise but will also negate the resolution advantage somewhat.
3. Shooting at 4 FPS is very slow. Many entry level DSLR's match or surpass that speed. This compromises this body from being a great all around camera to being one that is best suited for mainly landscapes and portraiture in my opinion.
4. There are quality control concerns. Autofocus issues and green tinting on the back LCD and images are concerning for many Nikon shooters. I do know of one professional who has switch from Nikon to Canon because of these issues. It isn't something I would recommend however. I'm sure in time Nikon will resolve these problems.
If you are a Nikon shooter, I believe a better option for an all purpose body is the D700 or D7000. If you are only interested in portraits and landscapes, then the D800 is the better choice (once they resolve the QC issues with AF and green tinting).
If you are a Canon shooter, I would not switch to the D800. Users of the 5D Mark II or 5D Mark III can achieve nearly the same detail with a low radius and high amount of USM sharpening at lower ISO's. The Nikon has a bit more dynamic range, but I believe the importance is overstated. Overall I believe the 5D Mark III is the better camera.
If you are not invested in either system, I personally believe the Canon is the better purchase.

Questionable Post
August 12, 2012
I am not sure when this poster bought his camera nor where he is even getting his information. From the post I would almost bet that this poster does not even own this camera but merely posted information which he got from some research on the web and then made it worse.
The tint on the screen was minor and actually renders the colors much better than the D700
The focus issue was resolved some time ago and all cameras which Best Buy have sold in over 1.5 to 2 months do not have the focus issue.
Weight - it is professional camera with a metal body - of course is it going to be heavy. Exaclty the same issue with the professional models.
A professional who shifted from Nikon to Canon over the issues is really a pretty wild and questionable statement.
Overall, this review is really not well written and definitely does not reflect the current state of the manufacturing of this camera.

I have taken some pictures with my new Nikon d800 camera with a 24-70mm lens. I do not like the pictures taken in the auto focus mode. The pictures aren’t that sharp compared to pictures taken in the manual mode. Otherwise, I’m happy with my camera, although I have not used all the camera features yet.

You may need to calibrate the lens with this camera. That is not uncommon, especially with professional level cameras such as this. That would appear to be your problem. Review the manual for how to adjust the lens calibration. It is actually rather easy.

GREAT CAMERA FOR EXPERIENCED SHOOTER
By ANOTHERNIKONLOVER from NORFOLK, VIRGINIA
I have been drooling for over a year for the Nikon D800 camera and I was very excited to purchase it after Christmas. I have been off doing test shooting and just yesterday I sat down to work on a photo in Photoshop CS5.5 that I really liked from last weeks shoot. WELLL!!. I couldn't work my RAW files!!!
I contacted Adobe and found that you must upgrade to Photoshop CS6 to work in the D800 RAW files!!!
How aggravating. I was hoping for a patch at least but no, I had to either go back to my D300 camera or upgrade my Photoshop immediately. SIGH! Well luckily the upgrade was only $199.00 but still...I wasn't prepared to make that expenditure yet. So, heads' up folks. If your plan is to work in D800 RAW files you'll be upgrading your software immediately as well. I didn't find a single word to that effect before I bought the camera so "BUYER BEWARE"

CS 5.5 works just fine with the D800 files. You might need to get the latest update and raw processing files from Adobe. I have used CS 5.5 and CS 6 for images from the D800 and have had no problems.

Best grain and dmax performance out there per DXOmark. And 36mpix is not too shabby. It's a Nikon and performs well. I shoot indoors and use auto iso sometimes up to iso 6400 to keep the shutter at 1/200 to stop the action. So you can buy iso performance.

NO focus issues with any cameras in 9/2012

The focus problem from Nikon was not existent in cameras in Best Buy stores in 9/2012. This was resolved and the cameras were out of the supply chain some time in June or July of 2012 (July if the store was small and unknown).

I'm typing this from my laptop because the Surface is so ridiculously incapable of remaining connected to wifi. Already returned one Surface because I assumed there was something wrong with it. Nope. Second one, same problem, and now I see others have experienced this as well. Why have a tablet if you can't work online? LAME. In addition, I think Windows 8 is a joke. Terrible apps, simply NOT ready for market. Taking this thing back in the morning.

Logitech Software Issue
By TylerFromBestBuy
I work for Best Buy, and I just spent 3 hours attempting to set this up to no avail.
You can run the remote programming on it through your computer, once you follow all the prompts, it synchronizes and imports all the data you just entered. If you have a windows computer it will freeze at 99% every single time.
You can disconnect at this point and it will have memorized the information from initial setup, but when you want to access the more intricate menu to program buttons and what not, you find that you have to had COMPLETED the sync to access this menu.
This is apparently a known problem with logitech remotes and it has not been resolved since 2012.
As a Best Buy employee I will not sell these harmony remotes if they do not have the hub and will never attempt one of these remotes ever again. It's much easier to just have multiple remotes, or really dole it out for the SAVANT remotes.

Fly away with my GoPro

So...after two weeks of owning this drone, it decided to just fly away. I had to chase it down the street where it almost hit a car. I recovered the drone and sent a report to 3dr. The turn around time said expect 48 to 72 hours response time. I waited 2 weeks, getting nothing but apologies for being delayed in a reply. Finally, I decided to return it to Best Buy with the intentions of upgrading to the DJI Phantom 4. I was willing to pay $700 more for the upgrade. I was 4 days outside of the return policy, unfortunately, so they wouldn't do anything about it, and told me to contact 3dr, which I had already done. I've since thrown it in the trash, and will never purchase from Best Buy in the future.

3DR responds well for support. Not sure what you did or were expecting, but you obviously did not do what was requested by 3DR. Ah well, there are always those who do not properly follow instructions or follow through and then they get upset when things do not go their way.

3D Robotics Solo Drone: Using the Solo's smart flying features, you don't have to be on the sidelines to capture memories — you can be a part of them, too. Choose from a variety of autopilot modes, from premapped flight paths, to orbit, lock-on-and-follow, and more. Now you can worry less about keeping the drone in the air, and focus on taking amazing footage to share with your friends and family.Fly Responsibly:The FAA requires operators of unmanned aircraft weighing more than 0.55 pounds (250 grams) on takeoff (including everything on board or attached), and operating outdoors, be registered at www.faa.gov/uas/registration. If you are under age 13, you must have a parent or someone age 13 or older register for you. Additional state or local requirements may apply. Check your local jurisdiction. The following websites may help you make informed decisions about how regulations impact you: www.knowbeforeyoufly.org and www.modelaircraft.org. Some manufacturers recommend minimum age requirements for operating certain models of unmanned aircrafts. See the Specifications tab on this page for the Recommended Minimum Age for this product.

Does not make sense

Sorry, picture and description do not jive. That part would not have been the part which broke if it had 'fallen out of the sky'. It would not have fallen in that manner. Looks more like pilot error by someone attempting to fly in manual or acrobatic mode with little experience in handling a drone of this capabilities in a free flight mode such as manual or acrobatic.

Need better backup strategy

ALWAYS keep more than one backup copy of important electronic files. You cannot expect a single backup to always be available. In fact, you should keep backups in separate locations. Just think if your house burned down. You would lose everything.
Is it sad you lost your memories, yes. But you should keep dual backups at a bare minimum.
By the way, did you attempt to take this to a real computer technician to see if they could recover them from the disk. It might be expensive, but if the pictures and memories are that important then it would be worth it.

On WD Elements the manufacturer's warranty is 2 years and on WD My Passport Ultra it's 3 years. What's the manufacturer's warranty time on WD Easystore drives?.

is there a tablet that has an usb port that I can connect my printer to?

You can do this with the Microsoft Surface Pro and the Microsoft Surface Pro 2. I have the Surface Pro and am very happy with it. They are currently discounted very nicely at Best Buy.

When can I order on line and pick up at my local Best Buy Store?

I am assuming you have already been able to accomplish this since your question is 11 months old. But, you can do it now.
