Bad Choice!
on September 24, 2012

I wrote a review on the graphite steal color way to fast...... After having this washer for 2 months, I have noticed many of my clothes were snagged and have a bad order, especially towels. I have tried to wash them on sanitary and it did not change the meldow - burnt smell. The snagging happens during the spin cycle. What happens is, the spin sucks part of the fabric into the drain holes and when it stops the clothing is released from the spin and the fabric pulls out of the hole which I believe is where the snag takes place. It's like the punctured hole in the drum are not smooth on the inner side. As for the smell, I think there is definitely not enough water used help clean. As a matter of fact, it uses a very minimal amount of water and then uses that same dirty water to spray your clothes. This is what they are calling "turbo wash". What a joke.
I would recommend this to a friend!

good dryer

Doesn't over dry your clothes. When steam is used, it leaks from the nozel but according to the book, this is norrmal. in the beginning of the cycle it does make a banging noice that does go away. Over all... a good dryer. Has more features then you need and priced to high. LG needs to make a basic dryer to match the washer.
What's great about it: It drys the clothes how you set it to.
What's not so great: Makes knocking noise in the beginning of cycle.
I would recommend this to a friend!

A definate upgrade from previous washer

Had this washer for about two weeks. unfortunately, the top sprayer inside the washer continues to leak after the cycle ends. Went to Best Buy and they are exchanging it. Hopeflly, it this will not happen with the new one. I previously owned a LG washer and this one is 10 times better.
It has all the features you can want in a front load and it definately gets the clothes clean. I can't even hear it, when it spins...and if it becomes out of balance, It knows how to slow the spin and re adjust to balance it.
The only complaint i do have is the door is a little flimsy... It could dent very easly.
Over all... Love it!
What's great about it: Has every feature you could want in a front load washer.
What's not so great: Door is a liitle flimsy
I would recommend this to a friend!

Shakes my house, clothes are clean. Trade off.
By mYkLObE from Lehi, UT
Let me preface this review with this: My house is a 2205 sq. ft. rambler with a floating floor, and is 4 years old. It was built by a very reputable, local builder. My wife really, really likes the look of the front loaders and wanted to make these work...
When I had these delivered and installed, they put them together and left. Had they turn them on for me, I would have had them take them out of my house immediately.
Load 1 (again, not balanced or leveled by the installers, just installed). - I put a smaller load of colors in the machine, started it up. BANG, BANG, BANG. OMG what is happening? My washer is broken. I balanced the load and started it up again. BANG, BANG, BANG.
I decided to level the machine. I put a level on the front, back, and sides, and adjusted all the legs. It was perfectly level. I balanced the load (again) and started it up again. BANG, BANG, BANG. I immediately called Geek Squad to come out and fix whatever was going on.
Geek Squad shows up 1 week later and spends over 3 hours (from 11:05 am - 2:40 pm) running the legs on the pedestals up and down trying to balance it. In the end, when it was "running in spec", my entire house was shaking. Not just hey, there's a small vibration, it was more like my wife in the master bedroom (all the way on the other side of the house) could hear / feel the vibration / shaking over the TV with the door closed. My pug didn't like it either. She was freaking out the entire time. I told the Geek Squad member that I was not happy and that I would have never have purchased these if I knew they vibrated so much. He said with my kind of flooring, that's just normal. They will vibrate "some". He said it's "running in spec" and left. Like, he turned around and just walked out of the door.
So, I went to a buddies house that has some other LG Front Loaders, and they shook his house too. Apparently, he's OK with the vibration.
I called my brother in law that has these exact models and he said his first floor shakes, but the upstairs doesn't.
I don't understand how people can justify these machines if your house shakes? My 10 year old Whirlpool washing machine was way quieter than these. I just wanted to "upgrade" to some newer, higher efficient machines.
I assume if you have a concrete floor, you would never have noticed the vibration unless you were in the laundry room watching the machine go.
So, my advice is to watch some YouTube videos on these washing machines. Apparently the vibration is normal. If you can live with the vibration, then these might be for you.
I am returning my LG front loaders and getting the LG High-Efficiency WaveForce Top Loaders. Hopefully, they give me better results for my kind of flooring...

Don't buy top loader
November 10, 2013
I have recently been trying to find the right washer for me. Best buy has been very kind to exchange them if I don't like what I have. DO NOT BUY Lg top loader... you will Be disappointed! Tried it and it was far more worse than any other washer. Waveforce is a joke. It does not work. I was told, you have to have exactly 8 pounds of clothes. I actually even weighed what I put in it and it still only trickled water from the top. If you think soaking clothes with little wave get your clothes clean, this would be the washer for you.
I had the a LG front load and the reason I got rid of it was because it did wear my clothes out. Thought it could use a little more water, loved the turbo jets, did not vibrate or smell. The dryer, always over dried everything....
I currently have a Samsung with speed spray. I thought it sprayed during the wash cycle but it does not and in the beginning of every spin, it thumps like its going to walk away.
If LG would just use a little more water and get the dryer to not over dry, it would be the way to go for me. I might have this Samsung looked at by a technician before swapping it for something else.
