I thought I would only be using this lens for shooting extreme close-ups but find it is a great all around lens. It has this great auto focus that somehow figures out things extremely close up or far away. It is an incredibly intuitive lens design and has become my favorite of many lenses.
What's great about it: Solid, well built, incredible sharp images
What's not so great: It's all good!
I would recommend this to a friend!
