One of my favorite movies of 2012!

ARGO was one of my favorite movies of 2012. I viewed it without reading too much about the plot, so it was fun to be surprised. I was in 8th grade when this historical event happened, so I certainly remember what 1979 was like. I believe that Ben Affleck and company did a SUPERB job portraying the era of the late 1970s...and the political environs that surrounded Jimmy Carter...and then Ronald Reagan.
Ben Affleck SHOULD have been nominated for Best Director for an Academy Award....as demonstrated by his many WINS in that category in OTHER awards shows this season. The Academy MESSED UP that one. Still, I'm hoping ARGO does well at the Academy Awards in other categories.
The cast as an ensemble is a VERY believable bunch....portraying the perfect mix of angst, terror, heroism, and even nervous humor. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time.
Enjoy ARGO! It's a wonderful depiction of a true story...and it's a perfect political suspense thriller!
What's great about it: Everything!
I would recommend this to a friend!
