Great budget IPS monitor, good enough for gaming

This was not the monitor I was looking for when I went into the store, but I couldn't pass up the deal. It was an open box item that was returned from a Black Friday doorbuster deal, so I got it for around $170. I can't complain about what I got for the price. However, I am not 100% sure the model they sell for the doorbuster is exactly the same as this model. (mine had a -B at the end of the model number). But, so far so good. I like that you can adjust the refresh speed in the settings, but it was confusing which setting I wanted, so I had to play around with it until I got the best results. After I got that figured out, I would say the lag for gaming isn't too bad, but probably a little slower than a non-IPS gaming monitor would be. You wouldn't think you can tell the difference between 1ms and 5ms refresh rates, but you can (or there are some other factors that come into account other than just that measurement). I ordered a gaming monitor today, so I will compare the two when it arrives. I really wanted a monitor with 2 HDMI inputs, which this does NOT have. If that is not important to you, and you want a monitor with excellent picture quality, give this a try - just don't complain of your k/d goes down a little if you're a gamer coming from a faster monitor.
What's great about it: picture quality
What's not so great: confusing menu
I would recommend this to a friend!

Does what it should

It works exactly as expected. It is smaller than I imagined it would be, which is a good thing. I don't have a case on my iPhone, so I had no fit issues. It fits perfectly on the end of the older style usb cable, and on my iHome alarm clock. Other reviewers have unfairly rated this poorly because their case gets in the way and doesn't allow the adapter to plug in. I can see why that would be annoying if you already bought a case, but case manufacturers should take this into account when building the cases. You can't expect Apple to build the adapter around any number of third-party case designs.
What's great about it: easy to connect, sleek and simple design
What's not so great: may not fit with cases, expensive
I would recommend this to a friend!

Warning! Takes getting used to!

Unfortunately, almost all of the benefits of this controller also have a downside. Please note, I just bought this controller and have only used it for a few hours so far. My first impressions using it for Call of Duty Black Ops were not great. If you are an experienced Xbox 360 FPS player, don't plan on switching to this controller and expecting it to immediately improve your gameplay.
In order of importance, these are the problems I've found so far. Some of which MAY become obsolete if I ever use the controller enough to get used to it:
1. As other reviews have said, the triggers are too long. There is too long of a distance to push them in to where they register the shot. I typically prefer the semi-automatic rifles, and I would be tapping the trigger as fast as I can, and it only registered a few shots. I got killed a few times were I was pulling the trigger over and over and nothing happened so I was just staring at the guy and he shot me. Not cool. You almost have to lift your finger off the trigger completely between each shot for it to register the next one, rather than keeping slight pressure on it, like I am used to.
2. The adjustable analog sticks are cool, but they take some getting used to. I think when I find the right settings, this will be a benefit rather than a problem. It does seem like they are harder to click down though, which is a problem in Black Ops when trying to stab.
3. The mappable bumper buttons are kinda out of the way, and also too close together. I used them once or twice, but it didn't seem natural. Again, maybe once I am used to using them, it will be fine.
4. The shape of the bottom of the controller hurt my hand in a relatively short period of time. There is more of a sharp bend in the shape than the stock controller. Holding it a little different helps, but seems unnatural.
5. I wish they didn't relocate the start/back buttons. They are not easily accessible.
All that said, the packaging and look of the controller are nice. The feel The braided cable is cool, though I never sit 15' away from the TV, so they could have left it a little shorter, for my uses.
What's great about it: Look and feel, adjustability/customization
What's not so great: Design flaws

Not so great

This game is frustrating. The menu system is a pain - it should be made more simple so it doesn't take forever to start a game. Once in the game, while it can be fun when it is behaving, much of the time it does not respond the way you want it to, and for some reason if you're playing 2-player, only one of the players works properly. I realize this could be because of my playing space, the amount of light in the room, Kinect calibration, etc, but we don't have much problem with other Kinect games.
What's great about it: exciting, fast paced
What's not so great: too hard to start a game, tracking needs work

I don't believe this for a second. If Best Buy sold diapers, you could return them and say they came with $#!+ in them. If there is any truth to your review, I'll bet its because they know you dented it yourself, or you had a bad customer service rep.
