I'm thinking about taking it back

I spent 30 mins trying to vacuum 1/2 my staircase last night and ended up using my old vacuum cleaner to finish. The suction on the air vacuum feature is very weak. I bought it because I have cermic, hardwood and carpet in my house and wanted a floor cleaner for all these surfaces. My 11 year old vacuum cleaner works better than the vacuum feature on this bissell deep cleaner. I think I'm going to take it back, I paid too much for it not to work.
What's great about it: The hard floor cleaning features
What's not so great: No suction from the vacuum cleaner
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
