With the exception of "Highly Suspicious," which frankly seems a bit out of place on the album, I love every track on the CD. The pace picks up a bit toward the end with "Aluminum Park" and "Remnants," but I personally enjoy the slower songs - particularly "Touch Me I'm Going To Scream Pt. 1" and "Sec Walkin."
Jamey Johnson writes from the heart, and with the final track, "Between Jennings and Jones," he describes himself perfectly. I haven't heard country music like this since Waylon Jennings.
While most everyone has heard the single, "In Color," my personal favorites are the title track, "That Lonesome Song," as well as "High Cost of Living" and "Place Out on the Ocean."
Johnson sings about his life - straight from the heart.
Jenny Lewis' voice is outstanding, and this album is solid from start to finish. From the title track, "Acid Tongue," to the "The Next Messiah" and "Godspeed," the album features upbeat, fast tracks and slow melodies as well. I highly recommend this album.
