NOT A CREDIBLE FEMALE LOVE INTEREST
on January 25, 2015

Great concept --- barely tolerable execution. Entirely believable boy toy Elgort/Gus deserved a credible love interest --- and --- dialogue to match. The always superlative Willem Dafoe is inexplicably monotone, monochrome and utterly wasted. Laura Dern adds nothing --- as does her on screen husband, whatshisname. Interestingly --- lesser supporting roles are well cast and performed. Viewers who barely survived Old Yeller, Hachi, Bambi or Marley --- will walk away heads up and dry eyed --- finding fault in these stars and writers. See this one to understand how a great concept can be lost in poor casting and writing.

Another GARY SINISE Masterpiece
on July 8, 2012

GARY SINISE is one of the finest actors on-screen and gentlemen off-screen that Hollywood has produced --- ever. IMPOSTOR greatly benefits from his talents --- and --- those of a very solid supporting cast. Viewers are carefully led through a masterfully crafted, photographed and edited script --- never knowing the "punch line" until the film's final moments. Definitely not one to be missed.
What's great about it: Intelligent and superbly acted.
What's not so great: Nothing.

Ford + Craig + Favreau = 0
on May 18, 2012

How could Hollywood giants Jon FAVREAU, Harrison FORD and Daniel CRAIG become party to this cinematic debacle? A big screen loser and a viewer bruiser on virtually every front, back and side --- casting, acting, writing, directing, editing, photography --- 2 hours 15 minutes for masochists. One to be missed.
What's great about it: It ended.
What's not so great: It started.

Perhaps the best motion picture --- EVER
on May 6, 2012

AVATAR may be THE PERFECT motion picture --- and --- from first release to second release to third release it simply gets better and better and better. The script flows seamlessly --- without even the slightest momentary lapse. The cast is nothing less than perfectly suited. Computer animation is absolutely breathtaking. Directing, sound engineering, score and editing combine to create an utterly flawless visual and auditory experience. AVATAR is truly the ultimate motion picture experience for those who are willing to suspend reality for the purpose of being supremely entertained again and again and again. Five stars are not enough.
What's great about it: PERFECTION --- script, cast, animation, photography, directing, editing, score
What's not so great: Nothing
