Philips Norelco Shaver 7200 >> I like this head design the best…
Have been using an older Norelco with the same type of 3-blade floating head, and much prefer this style to the “fixed head” and “foil” electric shavers. To each his own and I know of others that prefer the foil – so your experience may be different. It is interesting how a person’s beard “gets used to” a particular type of shaver, and I found this design works best with slow circular motion – as long as I can keep from getting in a hurry the morning shave doesn’t take very long. When I start rubbing the shaver back and forth or go too fast, that’s when I have to go back and keep at it to get the best results. Going slow and circular seems to work the best. Of course there is always the opportunity for a quick “touch up” in the evening before going out, which is another nice thing about a good electric shaver.
The best features on this for me are the wet/dry capability and the sideburn trimmer. Since I don’t have to worry about getting it wet, cleaning is easier by popping off the top, brush out the hairs, and rinse.
Charging is easy and a charge easily lasts me a week – probably longer but the shaver is new and I haven’t had to recharge it yet after a week, so I’ll let you know. Plug in the charger and lay it down by the sink – no worries about getting wet and a few hours on charge and ready for another week (or longer) of cord-free shaving.
I have read some negative reviews on this shaver (and most electric shavers will include some negative experiences) , but don’t understand why folks are having the problems they describe. Go slow, don’t push the shaver into your face, circular motion – I have never had problems with pulling hairs or irritation except when my older shaver’s blades started getting dull. On a brand new shaver – never had a problem. Again, to each his own and for me, this is a good shave.

Looks good, but set aside some time to assemble...

Insignia™ - 3-Drawer File Cabinet – Black
Hey this is a nice cabinet that has a roomy bottom drawer for hanging folders and two upper drawers for odds and ends. I wanted a cabinet with both, and this seemed like the best solution. Nice to have a lock on the top drawer to secure my high-value electronics when stepping away from my desk for a while.
The finish is clean and looks appropriate for office environment. Casters are big enough to roll smoothly and has a “fifth wheel” towards the front which I haven’t seen before but I reckon helps support the weight of a full load in the hanging file drawer.
The top is 15x18 and just a little smaller than the “overhang” of my printer, but everything fits OK. If you have a “long” printer/copier and want to sit it on top, you may want to check your dimensions to be sure it fits. Mine was close but fortunately will be OK.
The cabinet comes in panels and has to be assembled. That is not unusual, but plan to set aside an afternoon to get this put together. Instructions are good, but there are a lot of nuts, bolts, pegs, and hardware involved. My concern was putting the parts in the wrong place because the connecting hardware does not seem to allow too many “in and out” errors. Getting the drawers assembled properly was the big challenge – maybe plan to get some help and double-check what you are doing each step to avoid problems.
Overall once assembled this looks good and seems sturdy enough to last a good long time. A nice change from using those old “hang and bang” sheet metal cabinets, so spending a little more on the wooden cabinet is a good step up in the office.
The world’s first mountable massage ball helps relieve muscle tension, improve blood flow, and contribute to enhanced performance. It can be installed easily and quickly onto any smooth, sturdy surface (painted drywall, plastic, painted wood, and metal) at any height pending requirements - such as chronic back pain, trigger point therapy, and myofascial release. The airlock patented mounting system uses industrial-strength suction technology that can support up to 100lbs of pressure, for user safety and confidence. The rotating ball slides smoothly in all 360 degrees, providing pain relief to sore tight muscles and soft tissue, making it perfect for a back massage. See the results you want with Vertiball massager in just 5 minutes a day.

Good for pin-point massage – especially hard to reach spots on back and shoulders.
Muscle soreness on back and shoulders has always been problematic when trying to get massage or vibrator relief. Simply hard to reach those areas. The Vertiball takes care of this as long as you have a smooth surface to mount the suction cup. I had to try several spots around the house, and found that bathroom tile, plastic (like shower stall), metal door, or refrigerator work very well. Other surfaces sometimes don’t hold the ball very well, or at all. Basically if the surface is smooth or has a couple of coats of paint the ball stays put. This is clearly stated in the product description, so maybe think ahead about where you will mount this ball to be able to “lean back’ against it from waist-high to neck-high also works well for large muscles like thighs, especially back of the thigh and hamstring area where you can “back up” into the ball and move yourself up/down and right/left (small increments) to ease hamstring tension.
Use is very simple – just mount the Vertiball base, then pop in the massage ball section. When you release the suction cup, it will automatically release it’s grip on the ball section. Pull out the ball section and then flip the release lever to remove the suction cup base section. Once you have the Vertiball mounted, just press your body against it (not too hard) and move around a little to roll the ball over the area you are massaging. It just takes a little while to get the feel of how hard you can press against the ball and still keep the ball moving smoothly.
I tried using the Vertiball “hand held” which does work OK, but I would not buy it just for that purpose. Neck, shoulders, and back – those are the best target areas that will get the best use out of the Vertiball.

Insignia - High Back Executive Ergonomic Chair with Adjustable Headrest – Black
Stop the new-chair-every-2-years cycle with this one….
For those looking at a new office chair, there are the “cushion” chairs, which have foam cushions and padding for seat/back, and there are the “support” chairs that have mesh webbing that gives a little, but is intended to “push back” and support your back and bottom. This chair is a “support” chair.
OK I have been going through the cycle of getting a new office chair every couple of years to replace one that the cushions have crushed down to the plywood, or the seat support bearings are starting to wobble, any number of things that make the chair grow more and more uncomfortable over time. I always seemed to settle on the “not the cheapest but not too much” price range, which is OK for a while but weak spots or cushioning issues always seemed to start creeping in.
This time I decided to go up the price ladder and consider the chair as more of an investment in daily comfort and overall health. The Best Buy house brand seemed like a good choice, as Best Buy tries to match the best features of the well-known brands and come in at a lower price.
There are 2 models of the Insignia chair that I could choose from, and although they are both pretty much the same size and weight capacity, I went with the High Back to get the adjustable lumbar support and more adjustments including the arm rest, head rest, rocking, tilt adjustment, and “seat slide” that allows moving the seat forward/backward for just the right bottom position.
I’m glad to have these extra adjustables, as spending about 30 minutes adjusting the lumbar, headrest, and seat position provided the perfect fit – and I have not experienced this perfect fit with the less expensive chairs. Once I got the seat dialed in, it was the “why didn’t I do this a long time ago?” feeling, especially with all the seat-time that has been put in over the past few years.
A few words on the construction >> this chair seems built to last. The load-bearing parts are metal, with metal-to-metal fitted connections when assembling. The chair comes in several parts – securely packaged – and all the needed screws and tools are included and VERY CLEARLY LABELED so you can quickly find the right screw for the right part. Putting the chair together took about 30 minutes and I always take my time and (mostly) read the instructions – which are very clear and easy to follow.
Having gone through a few chairs over the years to get to this one, I feel pretty confident that I won’t need to buy a replacement for a long time, if ever.

No question this is a sturdy and well-built backpack. I like the style, as it is conservative in appearance but has the orange accents and trim that add a little sizzle without going too far (for an older person). It’s kind of a surprise to open up this modestly colored backpack to be greeted by a bright orange interior, but after using it for just a little while I realized that the bright orange color made it exceedingly easy to see what was inside the backpack, and to find items that may have migrated to the bottom.
Plenty of pockets with webbing and pockets-in-pockets to have a place for everything, and everything in it’s place. This is one of those backpacks where from time-to-time you find a pocket that you didn’t know was there… nice surprise and it really does take a while to find all the pockets and pouches on this backpack.
The padding seems ample to protect a large 17” laptop and other electronics. I have put a 17” laptop, iPad, and small tablet in when going on the road, and there is plenty of room for the devices, chargers, and any other technology (cables, testing instruments, etc).
The backpack has a nice “expansion” pleat in the bottom that allows a really really full capacity when, and if, needed. The pleat folds back when there isn’t pressure on it, which keeps the backpack from getting “baggy” like a pillowcase if it has been packed full and then later it has been thinned down.
The shoulder straps are nicely padded, and good mesh in the back to keep it from getting too hot when walking around. Only small small issue I have is the carrying handle at the top (for a quick “grab and go”) does not quite have the amount of padding I would like. That’s not a deal-breaker, as I added a Velcro-strap cushion to the existing handle and it’s good to go!
Overall a nice backpack that seems very rugged and should last a long time.

I rate my headphones by 1 – comfort; 2 – sound; 3 – battery life.
Comfort always comes first. The Q45 have nice ear padding, and stay cool on the ears for extended periods. The headset is light on the head, and with the ear cup swivels and headband adjustment, they can “settle in” for a very good fit. I must add that the padding on the top of the headband is a little thin for me, as I don’t have any hair in that spot available for additional padding. Not a deal-breaker, but I plan to add a little something extra to accommodate the ALL DAY use that the battery life provides.
Sound is clear with good response range, and there are plenty of pre-sets and adjustments using the app that can match my needs.
OK I have to say that the battery life is unbelievable! I dare you to keep going with these until the battery finally runs out. I am in the habit of topping off my headsets after using them for an hour or so, and it took me a while to stop doing that with the Q45s. I can put them on and hear “battery high” and use them for an hour-ish, take them off to walk the dog, and put them back on and STILL hear “battery high” – I honestly haven’t had to worry about re-charging or topping off once I got used to the Q45 battery life! How they do it I don’t know, but I wouldn’t believe it if I didn’t have a pair of my own.
The ANC works well and greatly reduces ambient sounds. It is not perfect, but works very well for this price range. Also a “passthrough” that allows sound through when desired, or “normal” that reverts to vanilla headphones.
Ease of pairing bears mentioning. Sometimes Bluetooth gets a little weird, but the Q45 pair quickly, can be used with multiple-pairing (2 devices same time), and best of all for me will be smart and pair with the closest device, so I don’t keep pairing with the desktop in the office instead of the laptop on the sofa right next to me.
Pretty nice case also comes with the headset. The cups fold in and curl up inside the case, and toss the case in your backpack and you have several full days of use if you are headed for the hills.
All things considered, these meet my needs for good fit, long-term comfort, and extended battery life.

OK these are now my daily drivers. Turtle Beach does well with headphones, and these look nice, are easy to recharge, have excellent wireless connection, and are very comfortable for long sessions.
Use of the RGB programmable lighting is a matter of personal preference, and there are enough variations available to allow individualized lighting. Construction seems very durable, and although this headset is remarkably light, it has plenty of metal (aluminum I think) so I’m not worried about weak spots that might give way. Fit is very nice. The headband fits evenly, with no pressure points, and the ear cups conform well with the memory foam, and more importantly they don’t heat up. The sound is truly “3D” and there is the “superhuman” hearing which can be used when needed and works well. The mic is “flip to mute” and can be detached although I always keep mine connected. Quality of the mic is as good or better than any other headset I have used – mic is 5x5. With all this said, the headset has a the finishing touch of a very very nice charging dock. The battery carries an “all day” (or “all night”) charge, so no problems there, but at the end of a session it is awful handy to pop the headphones into the charging dock to keep them ready to go for the next session. The dock does a “rapid charge” but haven’t needed to do a recharge to keep a gaming session going due to the good battery life.
My priorities for headsets are comfort followed by sound quality. Good wireless performance has improved a lot, and this headset has no issues with connectivity for gaming and they also allow a Bluetooth connection to the phone – which really comes in handy from time to time.

Venom Go >> good for evening relaxation therapy...

This has turned out to be a very nice solution for spot treatments while “putting up my feet” at the end of the day. The adhesive pad was something new to me, but it works well and gives complete coverage to just about any area. Once the pad is in place, it is very easy to pop on the pod with the magnetic buttons. The pod has built-in controls, but using the app to control the pod works best for me since wherever the pad is placed, it is very easy to fully control the pad using the phone app. There are 3 heat levels, and the highest level was a bit too much for me, but it’s there if needed. The heating is almost instant, maybe takes 10 seconds to get up to the set level. Vibration can be set separately, with a steady, pulsing, and “pattern” vibration. The vibration is a nice touch, and seems to help with relaxing a knotty or tight muscle. I guess the main concern with this unit is the pads, which seem pretty sticky and so far it seems they can be reused many times before they have to be replaced. I make sure to put the pad on clean skin and put to cover plastic back on the sticky side when not in use. Would be nice if a carrying case was included, but the packaging this comes in works just fine for keeping everything together – so not a big deal for use at home.
Overall this is a nice device for a little "spot treatment" that can be slapped on quickly and works immediately.
Don’t let the battery of your devices die as you go throughout your day. The Insignia NS-PW3X4AC2W22B 140W 4-Port USB & USB-C Desktop Charger Kit for MacBook Pro 16” and More has a high, 140-watt output to quickly charge your MacBook Pro, smartphone, tablet and more. It has two USB and two USB-C ports so you can connect your cables (not included) and charge up to four devices simultaneously. Its desktop design easily lets you stack up to 4 chargers on top of one another, granting you more charging options. A simple white design pairs well with your other accessories. Keep your desktop devices working as hard as you do with this 4-port charger.

Insignia 140W Dual USB-C Dual USB-A Charger with 6ft AC Cable (White)
Not a “portable” – this is for your nesting area.
OK this is the one for office, bedside, or other “nesting areas” to keep everything charged without swapping chargers or filling up your surge strip to get everything juiced up. This is “full sized” and is designed to plug in to wall outlet (or surge strip) and stay there… it is rather large to be moving around or putting in a backpack or purse. Wherever you “settle down” with your devices and want to have a full-spectrum charger within easy reach – this is where you put your 140W charger.
There is no lack of power for fast charging of multiple devices from laptops down to fitness watches. Two USB-C ports provide 100W and 30W when used at the same time, and the two USB ports share 15W between them when used at the same time. This is based on having all 4 ports in use at the same time. As with other devices with multiple ports, your output per port increases if you only use one at a time (USB-C combines wattage and USB combines wattage). With all that said, I have no issues charging up a 17” laptop, older Surface Pro, phone, and smartwatch all at the same time and everyone gets charged up in short order.
A nice feature is the ability to plug the charge directly into a wall outlet with fold-out prongs, OR to use a nice sled plug that has a short cord for the wall/strip outlet and allows you to put the charger on a desk, night table, or other. In other words you don’t have to “hang it” on a wall outlet, you have a good bit of flexibility in placing your charger.
There is also a nice “passthrough plug” that provides you with a normal outlet plug to use – so you don’t lose a regular outlet by using this charger.
Like most other folks, I have my collection of small chargers that have accumulated over the years with new devices, and those stay in the backpack or in various locations around the house and office where I can “grab and go” when needed… BUT this 140W charger has found a place in my nest and I don’t have to dig through the little portable chargers to get everything juiced up for the day ahead.

Good full-range response not too heavy on the bass

Good full-range response – not too heavy on the bass.
I love me some Bluetooth earbuds and am always on the lookout for a decent set of buds with a comfortable fit and good battery life. These JVC buds have given me good performance and have the expected features for the price point.
As with any set of buds, I didn’t settle automatically for the ‘default’ tips, but tried the different sizes to be sure I had the best fit for this particular set of buds. Once that settled in, working with the sound settings got me to a point with good full-range response without being too heavy on the bass. For me this is a personal preference, and if you are looking for a very bass-heavy set of buds these may not be for you. Much of my listening is TV or movies, audiobooks, morning/evening news, and podcasts. With that said, my buds are not used for purely music most of the time, so my preferences are for good full-range response that allows speech to be clearly heard without being overshadowed by the music.
The noise cancelling works very well, with a “pass through” function that is easy to activate when walking the dog (in traffic) or joining in on a conversation when needed.
With that said, the touch sensitivity and control has its own feel and seems a little “touchier” than some other buds I have used but not a problem – just takes getting used to this particular pair of buds.
Battery life is fine for quite a few hours, and as usual with these types of buds you have juice in the storage pod to recharge the batteries as needed. I usually re-charge my case every few days, so I have not had any issues with keeping a well-charge set of buds ready to go.
Pairing is easy with BT 5.2 and switching from one device to another is quickly done.
Overall, this is a respectable set of buds at the price point. Comfortable fit, good battery life, full-range and balanced response, and good performance from the ANC.

Great for older geeks who don't need the "sizzle"
Bybanjofrommacon, ga
Actually the "top of the line" G910 gaming keyboard was marked down to a lower price when I got this, but too much "gamer" stuff on the G910 and not for an 'older professional' who wants to appear more mature than his 13-year-old gaming son. IMO the G910 wasn't selling as well as hoped, and the G810 is (to me) the superior model in design, appearance, and performance. This G810 looks professional on the desk, has OUTSTANDING color display (note that the 'special' keys on the number keys are also illuminated -- missing on many of the other illuminated keyboards - aren't these ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) the ones you can never remember when typing in the dark?), no "bottom of the keys" light spillover that takes away from the illumination focus, superior engineering on the Romer-G switches (Check out the tour of the Romer-G factory in Japan on YouTube), and feels like a BRICK in the hand (a GOOD BRICK) with heavy-duty construction. The 3-way adjustable tilt and huge rubber feet on the bottom will keep this from sliding around on any desk, including glass-tops. The only thing that makes this look like a "gamer rig" is the FABULOUS and CRISP color displays... which are easy to see even with the lights on in the room > fully adjustable to get it just the way you want at home or at work. I may be an old-timer, but I don't mind showing off a little bit and this keyboard is an EYE-CATCHER when the lights start doing the 'wave' across the keyboard! I read all the reviews and fiddled with the keyboards on display and there seem to be "Logitech Nay-Sayers" who can't bear the idea of using anything other than the older design "cherry" keys. I have gone from manual touch-typing > to I B M Selectric > to I B M 'clicky' keyboard (still one of my favorites) > to membranes > to whatever-cheapo-keyboard Dell includes in their educational computers > to a Saitek PK17U Cyborg > to this keyboard. This one is the best by FAR! Re: keys... you get a little 'click' so the sound and some tactile/touch reinforcement for keyboarding (typing) is there, but not too loud and for me just enough to let me know I hit the key. Yes it feels different from the cheapo Dell keyboard i just unplugged and replaced, but every keyboard is different and this one feels like driving a luxury car! Speaking of my son, he is now looking over at my new keyboard and looking at his illuminated keyboard and I think I know what he will be asking for come Christmas. Fortunately, the box still had the promotion of free download and activation code for "The Division" so the kid has something to keep him busy until Santa Claus comes. If you are an old crab like me, but like a little 'sizzle' when using your computer and want to treat yourself to a smooth-as-silk keyboard... this is the one I would recommend. Leave the "whoopee" keyboards to the kids. PS - you can hit a quick button on the keyboard and turn off the light display if you want to turn off the light show for a while.
Mentioned that my son was keeping an eye on my G810 from the get-go... first time I let him 'test drive' my G810 he says "ooooh, that feels nice" and decided he wanted to go to mechanical keyboard. He has a 'gamer' RBD keyboard (non-mechanical) with extra bells and whistles he has been using for a year or two, but instantly fell in love with the mechanical feel. Just gave him a "Week before Christmas" present of his own G810. He had his pick of the models available, and after tapping some keys and looking at the different models chose to get the G810. Just goes to show the "fancy schmancy" keyboards might look more-cooler-better but the proof is in the feel of the keys. It's a keyboard, after all.
