Just a flashy Halo 1 and that's not a bad thing.

I do like this remake of Halo: Combat Evolved. It is worth picking up if you're a big Halo fan. The graphics are so tasty, and the sound (like the melee of the needler) are just to die for. The anniversary maps are a lot of fun, it's great to finally play levels like 'Damnation' against people online. All of the online playlists for Halo: Reach aren't available though this games online so dont go trading in your copy of Reach to buy this. Toggle Crouch acts really wierd too. You pretty much can't use it because as soon as you start moving you pop up, but you also go back down when you stop moving. I don't understand what they were going for there. Another really annoying pointless addition: when you select multiplayer at the main menu it plays this cool montage while it (loads?) takes you to a new main menu. It was neat the first time, but you can't skip it until after a minute or so in. It sounds like a small thing, but it's annoying being forced to watch this video. $40 is a high price to ask, I bought it while it was on sale for $30. The game is also manufactured in Puerto Rico.
What's great about it: Multiplayer Maps, Remastered Sounds, Graphics
What's not so great: Made in Puerto Rico, Toggle Crouch, & The videos you cannot skip at startup and before the multiplayer screen

A good, slow paced Sci-Fi film.

I enjoyed the film Solaris quite a bit. The pacing feels a bit like 2001: A Space Odyssey, but Solaris does not have the same experimental film feel. The quality of the Blu-Ray is excellent. Everything looks great and sounds great. The opening scene looks beautiful. Im not a DVD extras person so I can't say much there. I love the packaging and disc art, they are among the best in my Blu-Ray collection. I also appreciate that Criterion manufactures/prints their films in the USA, a small, but nice touch. Be sure to check out the 2003 remake with George Clooney.
What's great about it: The film, Image quality, Packaging, Disc Art
What's not so great: It's not a perfect film, but I have nothing to complain about.

What can I really say? Everyone knows that The Lord of the Rings is an amazing trilogy. The video quality on blu ray is of the best out there. It is so nice to watch in 1080p to see all the details of the characters costumes, delicious. Sound quality is good. I lack a sound system, but I'm sure that is a sensation I'm missing out on. I do think it is worth noting that ALL of the extras and bonus features ARE NOT Blu Ray Discs. They are DVDs. I was really irritated with this since one would assume when purchasing blu ray one gets blu ray. I still recommend picking a copy up. Even if you aren't into it, get it so you can look cool for having it on your shelf.
What's great about it: It's Lord of the Rings
What's not so great: Extras are on DVD discs

Good, but not perfect.

When drawing with this stylus on a tablet (an iPad 2) it was a bit difficult to find the 'center' of the pen. I frequently find myself off of my mark, this could have something to do with being a lefty. Frustration aside, this is a very solid well-built stylus (It's made in Japan not China or Taiwan). The brushed aluminum makes it an absolute pleasure to hold. The rubber tip glides across the screen much smoother than a sponge tipped stylus. However, the down side to the tip is that it's a bit squishy and causes me to stumble on a few quick strokes. I do recommend this stylus to anybody in the market for sketching or writing needs. You should take the time to stop at a store, take one out of the box, and try it out on a display tablet before spending $30. The cheaper Targus and Rocketfish stylus' are comparable and competent products as well, they're just too small for my very large hands. Good luck!
What's great about it: Durability, feels like quality
What's not so great: Tip is a bit too broad and squishy

Immersive driving experience.

Driving cars in this game is very immersive. The sound quality is amazing, it is one of those games that makes you desire a sound system. Hot Pursuit has a driving scheme similar to those of arcade games. Controls are very exaggerated and effective at making you feel like your moving fast. It is far from a simulator like Gran Turismo 5. The customization of your car is limited to choosing the colors of you car, period. While browsing car colors there is an audio narrative about that particular car's history that starts playing. It is not game changing, but was fun to listen to. If you are looking for lots of car customization I strongly recommend Midnight Club LA: Complete Edition.
Having the cops on your tail does add a fun element to the game, but they are not that difficult. Police ramming you and hitting their road blocks does very little to stop you. They should cause much more damage to your car so you think of them as more of a threat than a nuisance. During chases I found myself being concerned about finishing first, not getting busted.
The campaign is fun, you start off driving really nice, expensive cars pretty quick. I unlocked a McLaren F1 after a little more that an hour of play. Hot Pursuit is a very stylized game that is worth a shot whether or not driving games are your thing. I would not recommend it to anybody looking for a real driving experience or vast amounts of car customization.
What's great about it: Sound, Graphics, Gameplay
What's not so great: No split screen multiplayer.
I would recommend this to a friend!

If you thought the nightmare was over, think again. The madness of isolation and the reality at hand are one and the same as engineer Isaac Clarke returns for another blood-curdling adventure in the sequel to the critically acclaimed Dead Space. The terror of being hunted by the government and haunted by a dead lover merge into a single, cohesive paralyzing emotion — but you have to persevere despite the creeping paranoia of dementia and the grotesquery slouching within every shadow. The Necromorphs are ripping the massive city to pieces and if you're going to survive "The Sprawl", you'll have to get desperate in order to last in Dead Space 2.Isaac Clarke isn't free of the terror of his situation, but don't worry — it's about to get worse. You'll have to seize opportunity by the throat if you're going to survive being hunted by the government and withstand visions of a dead girlfriend. Equip yourself with the tools to decimate and eviscerate the horrors surrounding you, like improved telekinesis, trip mines or even hull breaches to suck those things back into the dead of space where they belong. It won't be a walk in the park, though. In fact, you'll experience "The Sprawl" like never before in zero gravity with full 360° movement, destroying creatures in new weightless combat and unique, physics-based puzzles. Don't fret, you can share the loneliness of space — and the Necromorphs — with friends online in skirmishes to see if anyone really can hear you scream in space.

Excellent Game, Better Than the First

Dead Space 2 is a few steps up from the first. Much better level design and layouts, they have a very creepy feel when compared to the lifeless spaceship of the first game. The surreality of the levels sometimes has an eerie feel comparable to Bioshock. Intense scary moments, more gruesome death scenes, more challenging game modes, and WAY more fun than the original. The Multiplayer was a lot of fun too, similar to Left 4 Dead versus mode. My only complaint is that the story did get a bit weak at moments, I found myself forgetting what my goal even was. The dead girlfriend element got boring and was a predictable part of the story. Overall a great game; I agree with IGN's 9/10 rating.
What's great about it: Gameplay, Graphics, Multiplayer
What's not so great: Story gets weak at moments.

Only 10 bucks?

Yes it works on Blu Ray players (the list of compatible device brands is huge, it should work with ANY device of every brand). I bought this for my Sylvania blu-ray player and it took about 2 minutes to start working. The remote is of a pretty solid build as well, it doesn't feel like a million bucks; but you can't tell it only cost ten. Just a heads up, the partially LED backlit keypad is very weak, but I wasn't really concerned about those kinds of gimmicks. If your in need of a remote I strongly recommend this one whether or not you are on a budget.
What's great about it: Value
What's not so great: LED back lighting isnt great, but thats not why i bought this.

Finally on Blu-Ray!!!!

Ive been a fan of this movie since it came out, very happy to see it out on Blu-Ray. The aspect ratio FINALLY fills the screen. I was very happy about this, too many movies have widescreen bars (on a widescreen tv it puzzles me). Monsters Inc. is the best movie Pixar has done since Toy Story 2 and it looks even better in High Def.
What's great about it: ASPECT RATIO!! DVD, Blu-Ray, and Digital Copy! Pixar makes good stuff.
What's not so great: Sometimes a few characters look kinda flat due to lack of detail

Best movie of 2009

I saw this over the summer because nothing else was out. I was shocked that it was Star Trek and fell in love. I am sad with Blu-Ray transfer only because of the Aspect Ratio (Widescreen bars show up so I have to Zoom). Everything sounds and looks great with no big issues. Whether you like Star Trek or not give this movie a shot, it is very good.

One of Pixars best!

Most importantly, I am very happy that the aspect ration that the movie is in fills the screen. I hate when widescreen bars are on a widescreen tv. It aslo come with a DVD and Digital copy, very nice. The movie itself was good, I wasn't sure what to expect from it. Story is solid with very entertaining and surprising characters. All previous Pixars movies have been great, Up is no different.
What's great about it: Very happy Disney FINALLY used a good aspect ration
What's not so great: nothing really
