This review reflects the horrible experiences I had with lg's customer service - just thought you might like to know. Apparently I bought a suicidal tv from LG. I have the 2015 version of this tv that just decided to quit working. LG set me up with a certified repair tech who just happened to be 1.5-2.0 hrs from where I live (a factor that weighs in to my nightmare with customer service [CS] - because he stated that it really was not worth to him to drive that far to repair 1 tv). I told him what the symptoms were, he asked for some pix and without ever coming to my home stated that the tv was damaged beyond repair and that he was going to tell LG that the screen had physical damage! There is not even a hint of a scratch anywhere on my tv - and, yes, it is under warranty until 12/28. LG took him at his word and told me that they would NOT be covering my tv. They did offer up at that time several other certified techs much closer to my home, but that it would be at my expense to have anything done to my tv. I talked to 4 supervisors and none of them would listen to reason - just kept referring back to a tech's unreliable assessment to keep from honoring the warranty. I had had a great deal of respect for the LG brand until this incident which has cost me $900 tv. We had all our family over for Thanksgiving and I asked my two grown sons to remove the useless tv from the room (I was unable due to 2 recent major knee surgeries). Both of my sons concurred that they could not find a single scratch on it - they both stated that issues like mine are why they do not buy LG products. I am going to tell all who will listen about what has happened to me ... including the members of the church where I serve. Issue with tv? As I was hooking a new cable box to my A/V system, the person from the cable company sent an activate signal. The picture came on, the listings began to populate and then the tv slowly started to phase out from a picture to a bunch of lines that looked like they had been drawn with a crayon! Screen went black ... tv is dead. One supervisor tried to tell me that it was an internal crack on the screen - but I wanted her to explain how that could happen without any physical damage to the tv?? I had been having audio trouble with my system (hence, the new cable box - turned out not to be the problem) - the tech did tell me that a new motherboard for the tv would have corrected my audio issues. Whatever counclusion you may draw from my review - please note that this was a very convenient way for LG NOT to honor the warranty on my tv. Huge loss for me at a very bad time in my life. Hope this hasn't/doesn't happen(ed) to you.
