Frustrating user experience.

I was very excited to get this Tablo. I love the idea of recording live tv from my antenna. I have a roof mounted antenna, and I get whole house local tv. This Tablo would be the perfect solution for me.
Out of the box I was very impressed with the overall quality of the device. A simple white disc with only a power cable and optional Ethernet cable. I connected the device and then downloaded the app. The app immediately recognized my device and it let me connect to my local WiFi. It then prompted me to install a firmware update, in which everything froze. This was an indicator of things to come. I force closed the app, then reopened to discover the update installed fine. The app downloaded my local tv lineup and I was stoked to get started. I found one program to record and set it to record that same day. Later I went to watch it and turns out it failed to record. I set another program to record and it worked perfectly. It played back in hd with no streaming issues. I was stoked yet again. Note I am using a galaxy s22 phone.
Now it was time to test on other devices. I have 2 firesticks in which the app simply does not work. It downloads the channels and looks good, but then closes every time. I made sure my device was updated with the latest software, but it did not work. I have a fire tv box 4k, and the app did actually work great. I suppose the beefier hardware makes a difference. I then installed the app on my older LG tablet running android 6.0 and the app does not work yet again. The minimum app requirements is android 5.0 and higher. The Tablo legacy does not work either. I then installed the app on my iPad, 7th Gen, and it worked perfect.
So I decided I would be limited to using just my phone. I started streaming live tv, which is one of the main features I wanted to use, only to find out the video pauses and skips to the point of being unwatchable. I tried several channels, so I know it was not the antenna signal.
I should also note that you cannot use the app when you are not connected to your home Wi-Fi. Not even to watch recorded shows. This was also disappointing.
Another note is that you cannot access Tablo from a Windows computer. So you cannot stream from a laptop or connect your laptop to your tv to stream.
I was more disappointed in this DVR than I was impressed. Hopefully Tablo improves on their app and allows access away from home. Then this world be the perfect device. Until then, I would hard pass.

The Hyperice attachment you didn't know you needed

I already love my Hyperice Hypervolt 2 massage gun and thought that it could not get any better. So far I have purchased the official carrying case, as I love to accessorize. When I saw a heated attachment to my massage gun, I had to have it.
Upon removing it out of the package, I noticed that it had an extremely well built feel to it. It just feels like a nice quality product. I used the included USB type C charging cable and let it charge completely. Once it was done, I went ahead and inserted it into my Hypervolt 2 and held the on button. It is very easy to figure out, but a quick start guide is also included. You hold the power button for like 2 seconds, then press it again to adjust the heat levels. There are three total heat levels. I started it out with level one. It gets very warm at level one. I then selected level two and it got nice and hot. I then selected level three and it got very hot. I could not believe how hot this little attachment got. I was very impressed.
I then selected level two and used the first level of my percussion massager. I loved the way it felt on my back. I just ran it up and down my back and it felt amazing. I used it by my neck as well and it made me feel much relief of my tension. The massage attachment feels so nice, I want to remove it and just use it by itself!
Overall, I feel that if you own a Hyperice massager, this attachment is a must have. I have used this several times already and will continue to use it as much as I can. You will not regret it!

Great solution for smaller device protection.

In my house i normally use full sized surge protectors for all of my larger electronics. However, in my bedroom i do not have one for my television and phone chargers that are plugged into one outlet. I feel that this outlet surge protector is the perfect solution.
This outlet is very easy to install as it is the same as any other standard outlet. You shut off your breaker that feeds the existing outlet, then replace it. The only thing i don't like is that the face plate has the 2 exposed screws on it. I prefer the outlets that have the hidden screws and snap on face plate. Not sure why they skipped this detail.
Once installed you can flip your breaker back on and check to make sure the outlet is working. The outlet has a small LED light that indicates the outlet is currently protecting your devices plugged into it. The LED light then changes color if it has detected a surge. There is also a different color if the outlet is not working correctly. I assume this is if the wiring was installed incorrectly.
Overall i think this surge protector outlet is a great solution to protect your smaller devices. I have it installed in my bedroom and it is absolutely perfect!

Perfect for a small TV mount project.

I honestly loved this outlet relocation kit and it worked perfectly for my exact situation. I have hung multiple TVs on walls (both for myself and for friends) and have hid wires behind walls a few times. It is usually labor intesive as I kind of just crash and bashed my way through it. This kit allows you to do it all without actually having to move your recepticle box. My bedroom has a TV mounted on the wall but the cables are everywhere on the wall. It is only my bedroom and we did not care for a few years, but I felt that this kit was the perfect solution as I did not want to get into the electrical here.
The kit makes this very simple and contains everything you need to do this. It even has the drill bit needed to perfectly make your hole in the wall for the entry points. It has covers for the entry points both behind the TV and down near the recepticle. It also comes with the power cable that will be run through the wall and with the power cable that will connect the wall cable and be plugged into the outlet. The most valuable tool is also included, and that is the metal "tape" that is used to fish your cables through the wall. This is what I never had in my previous installations and it makes the task super easy.
You drill a hole in the wall above the outlet, then a hole in the wall near where your TV is going to be. You need to have a stud finder to make sure you are staying in between two studs. You then fish the power cable and any other cables you need to run behind the wall using the metal tape. I needed to run my ethernet cable since my TV is a smart TV. I also ran a long HDMI cable for my 4k Blue-Ray player. You then attach the hole covers and connect the power cables. This is essentially all you really need to do. The instructions are super easy to follow. I had my entire project done in only a few hours, and that was with several breaks as I was in no rush.
I highly recommend this kit if you are looking to hide cables and mount a TV in a room that is not your primary. I just feel that your main TV should have a proper outlet setup. However, anyone can use this kit for any application if they feel fit. I highly recommend!

Super fun with great battery life.

So far, I have been loving cruising around on my new e-bike! I have been zipping around all over town. I must start by saying that I really love this e-bike.
The bike comes in a large and heavy box. I needed help carrying the box to my back yard so that I could build it. I did not even use the instructions because the product page on Best Buy's website features a full length video on unpacking, building, and setting up the bike. So i started the video and got to work. It is not hard to remove the bike out of the box and remove the packing material. Then you mount the front tire, which is a pretty standard process compared to most normal bikes. Then you install the handle bars, then the pedals. The bike comes with a tool bag with all of the wrenches you need and even a screwdriver. It was actually very easy. I then installed the two batteries and turned on the bike. I quickly shot out of my backyard and took it for a spin around the block. I was super impressed with the speed and ease of getting going. The next day I filled the tires correctly with air and mounted a cell phone holder. I turned on my favorite playlist and away I went. I cruised for almost an hour testing all of the capabilities of the bike. If you pedal in one of the gears it will accelerate with the pedal assist. You can also simply push the lever and it will go without pedaling. The bike also has a headlight and brake light. The digital display is very nice and easy to read and use. The bike also has two batteries which gives it a very long run time. I have truly enjoyed running around town with it.
The only downside I have noticed with the bike is that it has a rigid fork and no suspension features at all. This makes the ride very stiff at times. I am told that you can replace the fork with a suspension fork, but for the price I would figure a suspension fork would be included.
Overall I really love this bike and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a nice ride around town without having to worry about a low battery.

Works, but not worth the time and effort.

Technically this home whitening kit does work. However, i feel that the work you have to do to use it does not pay off with worth while results. I did notice a few shades whiter results after 21 days of consecutive use, but i honestly don't think it was with the hassle.
Using the kit is pretty straight forward. First you must wash your teeth. This is important because if not you will get particles all over the gel brush. You then take the gel stick and twist the base until gel gets onto the bristles. The gel is clear and the bristles are white, so you can hardly tell when there is enough gel on the brush. You then apply gel onto your teeth all over. You then have the UV mouth guard which is powered by USB, lightning connector, or USB type C. I have a galaxy S21 plus and the type C connector would not power the mouth guard. I checked every setting on my phone and could not get the phone to output to the mouth guard. This might be user error on my part but i didn't have all day to try to figure it out. So i just grabbed a portable power brick and plugged in the regular USB. So i let the mouth guard in for 10-15 minutes each day. The instructions stated that the longer you leave it in the better. You then take the mouth guard out, rinse it, then rinse your mouth.
Overall the kit did whiten my teeth a few shades, but i don't think it was enough to make me want to use this regularly.

Wonderful device, poor app connectivity.

I have heard so much about sous vide precision cookers and could not wait to try this Anova. The day it arrived I ran out to the local grocery store and purchased 2 sirloin steaks and 2 filet mignon steaks. I brought them home and immediately slathered them in olive oil and some salt and pepper. I then placed them in my vacuum seal bags and sealed them with my food saver vaccum sealer. I now had 4 perfectly packaged steaks ready for my large pot and my new precision cooker. I used my 5 quart stock pot filled with water. I placed the Anova in the pot and made sure the water level was not past the max fill line. Filled with excitement, I was ready to cook! I downloaded the app, created an account, then followed the instructions to pair a new device. Everything was running pretty smooth as it discovered my new 3.0 cooker and began to pair. The app states that it could take a few minutes, but after over 5 minutes I began to worry. After several more minutes it did not look like it would successfully pair. So I had to force close the app and relaunch. The app now showed that my new Anova was registered or paired, but not connected. So I restarted the actual precision cooker to see if it would connect to the app. It never did. So I decided to to add another new device in an attempt to pair my new cooker. It found the cooker, connected to my network and showed that the pairing was successful, I was relieved. Then the app stated that a firmware update was required, so I launched the update. The update screen stated that it would take a few minutes, but this also ran for over ten minutes! I had to force close the app again. I was now over a half hour into trying to start the cooking process and my steaks were beginning to look sad. When I restarted the app I chose not to run the update. The app showed my cooker as being connected, but after trying to look at the device settings, the cooker kept disconnecting. The precision cooker continued to connect and disconnect intermittently. I was very frustrated. I browsed the app and found a steak recipe I liked and you can select "cook this recipe" in which it sets up and runs the precision cooker for that recipe. Luckily my Anova was connected at the time and it actually started cooking. I breathed a sigh of relief and continued with my day until the hour had passed. When the steaks were done cooking I took them outside to my grill, which had been preheated at high heat. I seared the steaks with the high heat and got them some beautiful grill marks. After a few minutes of resting I served up the steaks for my wife and I. The first few bites made me quickly forget the awful experience of setting up the device. I was taken to a wonderful place of perfectly cooked steaks that was better than the best steak house I could ever remember going to. The outer char/grill marks gave the steaks a wonderful texture, while the interior was extremely tender and perfectly seasoned throughout. We both agreed that these were the best steaks we had ever prepared at home. I have made steaks in almost every other way imaginable, with my go to being in a cast iron, basting with garlic butter and seasoning. This new method will be our new go to, and cannot ever imagine going back to any other way.
Overall, I really love how the steaks came out. So much so that I forgot to to take a photo of the finished product because we ate them so fast. The setup was painful, but the app is actually very intuitive and useful. The cooking times are very long, at least an hour for steaks, so be prepared for that. I feel that once you start cooking some food with this, you will never go back.

First and foremost, you can see and feel that this dryer is extremely high quality. The instructions are very straight forward and are easy to use. There is a very small learning curve. Your hair has to be very wet for best results. It is best to use right out of the shower, simply dampening your hair is not enough to get the intended results. You are to then use the dryer in three inch sections. I also recommend you start at the back of your head and move forward. I really liked the results. You can see the results in my photos.
If you want very straight hair, better results can be had with a good straightener. However, this dryer gives you a very good result while you dry your hair. You must also ensure you find the right strength level as if it is too low you can end up with frizzy results. I also found that the dryer is heavier than most hair dryers. This will take some getting used to and I found myself having to hold the wand with both hands due to fatigue.
The unit itself is extremely well made and works as advertised. It does take up a lot of space. You will need to create a large spot for it on your dresser, if not it may be a hassle to setup and put away each time you use it. Overall I am very pleased with this hair dryer!

Super high quality replacement blade.

The Phillips Norelco OneBlade 360 blade replacement is the perfect replacement for your OneBlade 360 trimmer. The replacement head is extremely easy to attach and detach when replacing. The replacement blade features a swivel head that pivots. This allows for the blade to move with the contours of your skin. The movement is very precise and feels very natural.
The build quality is very high as well. You can see and feel how the replacement blade is expertly designed and has a great durable feel to it. Philips spared no expense.
The blade itself is very sharp and allows you to have an effortless shave. When you are using the blade with no skin guard, the results are similar to that of an actual razor blade. This electric blade gets very close. I can honestly say that it is hard to believe that an electric shaving blade can get such a close shave.

The build quality is very high as well. You can see and feel how the replacement blade is expertly designed and has a great durable feel to it. Philips spared no expense.
The blade itself is very sharp and allows you to have an effortless shave. When you are using the blade with no skin guard, the results are similar to that of an actual razor blade. This electric blade gets very close. I can honestly say that it is hard to believe that an electric shaving blade can get such a close shave.

Very close shave with great precision.

At first I was skeptical regarding how well the small rectangular blade would trim my facial hair. The very first time that I used it I decided to use it without any guards and try to get a close shave and line up my beard. The blade allows you to use the utmost precision and get all the way up to your beard line. I lined up all of the outline of my beard and it looked great! The shave was also very close and looked as if I had shaved using a razor blade. I could not believe the results!
The next thing I did was attached the blade guard to do some trimming. I was able to trim my beard and clean it up. It took longer than my traditional shaver since the blade is physically smaller, but it still got the job done. Personally I prefer to use a larger shaver or trimmer to trim my beard.
This blade includes a nice stand with a charging cable. It also comes with attachments in order to shave, trim, and align all of your hair. It can be used for the face and body. I also love the battery life, I have used it for about two weeks so far without having to recharge. I use it almost every other day. The blade also runs extremely quiet compared to any other razor or shaver I have.
Overall I cannot recommend this shaver enough for getting a close shave and perfecting your look.

Does any plastic on this kettle come in contact with the water?
Yes, the sealed lid is plastic with slots that make contact with the water as you pour it out. Even if you remove the lid, the mouth is also plastic that makes contact when you pour out the water. Hope this helps!

I'm a runner in the market for new buds. Will these stay in during a rigorous workout?
I would not risk running with these buds. They are a little bulky and have a rubber "band" that is supposed to help seal in the ear, but can also push the bud out a little. I would recommend the Plantronics Backbeat Fit ear buds.

Your question sort of contradicts itself as using an app to control something is essentially a "smart" home function. You can use the lock without connecting to the internet and use as a simple push code lock. But for that then spend less money and buy one without the internet accessibility. Once this lock is setup you can connect it to your home network and control it using the August app if you wish. You can also integrate it into an even "smarter" home by adding the Connect bridge and using it with Google Home, Alexa, etc. Hope this answers your question.
