I saw the Foo Fighters twice in 2008, and in a nutshell, they are simply amazing. I also got to meet the band before one of the shows. Some of the nicest, if the not the nicest musicians in the world. Anyways, i have tons of these dvd live performances of many bands, and I would have to say this is up there with the best of them. The only microscopic knock is that there is no behind the scenes, or interviews with the band. Other than that, awesome dvd. The amount of people at the concert, and the size of the stadium in mind blowing. One of the few bands now days that is actually getting better as they produce more albums. This dvd is a must own.
What's great about it: The place and stadium the concert took place, the whole performance
If you are a true fan of Kanye West and everything that made him the Kanye West we have come to know, you will not like this album at all. First of all, the auto-tune vocals was a very, very bad idea. The whole time listening to the album, it feels like someone is holding a pillow over Kanye's mouth while he is singing. Not Good. Second of all, there is maybe one or two songs that are actually upbeat and high energy. Most of the album is a ballad. Some of the beats are ok, but most definitely not comparable to Graduation. Kanye does not rap or go off AT ALL in this album, and the Kanye I know performs his art like he is having a spasm attack. Nope, not here.
Up to this point, all the other reviews I have read say this album is "amazing", and "Kanye has done it again", or "another award winning album in the making". I understand these people may like the album, but i bet they are huge fans of Tpain and all the horrible sell out stuff on the radio.
Overall, i will still remain a huge Kanye West fan and will buy a ticket to his concert when he tours again, but i am extremely let down by this album. I want the old Kanye West back and hope his next album brings that.
