Good Surround Sound

This Onkyo Receiver is very good. I returned it to Best Buy because I couldn't get satisfactory radio reception where I live. No matter how I arranged the antenna I could not get my usual radio stations. The Onkyo was purchased to replace my Kenwood VR-505 (Which got great radio reception). Would I recommend this unit to a friend? This Onkyo is very complicated and will take sometime to understand all of the many functions. If you are going to use just the speakers as a surround sound it's not too complicated. Now, if you want to use the HDMI and the Bluetooth functions that's another story. Some of the functions (to connect iPad iPhone other Smart technology) you have to download an app to the device and then set it up. Most of my friends and family always call me when they have computer problems and on a couple of occasions I've had to set up surround systems. So, NO I wouldn't recommend this to my friends or family even though it is a Very Good Unit!

Acer - Aspire TC i5 Surprise

I just recently purchased the Acer Aspire TC i5. There was a mix up with an order I had placed with HP for an HP Envy. It got lost in shipping. The sales associate at best buy informed me that the Acer Aspire i5 was a good computer. I had already purchased the Acer 23" Touch Screen Monitor (Great Monitor). For fear of not getting my HP Envy in a reasonable time, I cancelled the order and purchased the Acer Aspire TC. The only complaint I have with the computer was my lack of knowledge with Windows 8.1 and all of the downloads. Anyway, got the computer up and running and I give it 5 Stars.
Oh! At the time I purchased the Acer 23" Monitor it was over $ 400. Best Buy Price Matched a Sold By Amazon Prime for $ 299. Just checked the price of the monitor today and guess what? It's $ 299...LOL
What's great about it: Very Quick and Reliable
What's not so great: Windows Update Downloads
I would recommend this to a friend!

First Home 3D Movie

This was the first 3D movie I purchased. I have a 51" Samsung Plasma TV. The movie was great and the 3D was outstanding! At the very end the Caterpillar becomes a butterfly and flies. It looked as if the butterfly flew right out of the TV into my room!!!
What's great about it: Great charaters great 3D
What's not so great: Cost!! LOL
I would recommend this to a friend!

#1 Disc Repair System fixes scratches that cause a disc to skip, freeze, and fail to play. Manual repair process smoothes surface scratches to renew the disc's protective layer, leaving disc data unaffected.

Great Product

I have a collectors CD which cost me a few bucks!! I didn't notice it at first but, there was a serious scratch on track two of the CD. After I purchased dvdDr I was skeptical that it would really work. I put the dvdDr together and followed the instructions. The instructions said to turn the CD Disc through the dvdDr twice. I did it twice as instructed, cleaned off the excess cleaner. When I tried to play the CD, it still skipped! After I cleaned the CD I could really see the scratch and it was worse then I thought it was at first. I figured I had nothing to loss so, I used the dvdDr again but, this time I turned it about four times using the cleaning fluid which came with the dvdDR. I wiped off the excess fluid and played the CD again. IT DIDN'T SKIP ANYMORE!! It really worked. I have to say for the price this machine really did the job. I was going to buy the more expensive machine but, I'm glad I didn't spend the extra money. I recommend this machine highly!!
What's great about it: Easy To Use and Really Works
What's not so great: Could Use Better Assembly Instructions

Auto Gain?
Does this (any) receiver control the volume level of the tv. Would like a solution to commercial spikes. Would like output level to stay the same no matter what the input level is.

No this Onkyo will not control the volume level on the TV. The TV volume control is a function that is built into the TV.
