A Great Classic

I remember my parents taking my brother and I to see this movie at a drive-in and it really peaked my intrests. When I recieved it in the mail, I watched it and it took me back to that drive in. Its well done for its time, the color is good and the storyline is good also. I watched the whole thing straight thru. I would reccomend this to everyone. Worth buying.

A Really Great Camera
on December 29, 2010

I bought this camera as a gift to myself and I am glad I did. I also purchased recharable batteries as the salesman said they will last longer. The picture quality is very clear and the camera itself is easy to use. I first read the instructions and tried each setting before I used it at Christmas. I am glad I did as I have some really good pictures. I like the fact it has many manual settings and the LCD screen is very clear. Overall, this camera is well worth buying. I don't use this type of camera for movies, I always use my camcorder as that is what they are made for.
What's great about it: Ease of use, picture quality, LCD screen is easy to see
What's not so great: None

Classic Movie

I enjoy this movie because it has all the old casinos that are no longer there and brings back memories of when I would go there. Has lots of nice older cars and some good stars in it. I am not a big Elvis fan but I do like him in this movie and of course Ann Margaret.
What's great about it: music, all the old casinos
What's not so great: nothing

TV At Its Best
on March 10, 2010

This show brings back many memories. Back then the writers of TV shows had good ideas and each story was well written. They had talent that is no longer found in writers. Nowadays, TV shows are stupid except for a few of them. The writers are of the beer drinking crowd who think stupid one liners are funny. NOT! Writers back then had imagination and knew how to keep a person interested in watching their shows. Well worth buying.
What's great about it: Sound, picture clearity, good acting
What's not so great: Nothing

Revisit the "me" decade with Warner Bros.' release of the first two seasons of the classic late-'70s prime-time drama Dallas. Episodes are presented in 1.33:1 full-frame as originally aired, with audio rendered in closed-captioned English Dolby Digital Mono and optional English, Spanish, and French subtitles. For those so inclined to dig a bit deeper, Warner Bros. has also included a commentary track with Larry Hagman, Charlene Tilton, and creator David Jacobs and the "Soaptalk Dallas Reunion Special" featuring Larry Hagman, Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray, and Charlene Tilton.

Good ole J R Ewing

This is the show that set the standards for prime time soaps. I have tried to watch the shows on nowadays but they don't compare. To see my favorite actors again is really nice. The quality of the recording is good and picture is clear. The programs on TV today just don't have what it takes to stay on the iar as long and the actors nowadays are wimps and just don't know how to act without a green screen behind them. These are people who acted without special effects. Worth buying.
What's great about it: Brings back memories of good TV shows

Excellent Blue Ray Movie
on July 1, 2009

These are great movies for Blue Ray. I have the Pioneer BDP-320 and the Pioneer VSX-918 surround reciever and it really sounds great. The quality of the picture is excellent and I found the extras to be interesting. I for one have no problems because of the equipment I have and I don't buy something just to complain about it later. If you enjoy Star Trek, you will enjoy this set. I did wait for it to be on sale as the prices of Blue Ray are still high but in time they will come down just as DVD's did.
What's great about it: Picture quality, sound, extras,

Reall A Great Vacuum

My mom is 76 and no longer has the strength for her Hoover Wind Tunnel. Its very heavy for her so I bought this one because its much liter and rolls very easy. The suction on both of them is really good and the upright lifts the nap of the carpeting really nice. You can tell the difference after you go over the carpets. Its pretty quiet and has a bright lite for darker areas. The idea of a full bag reminder is a nice touch also. The cord is so long< I never had to unplug it. The instruction book is very simple to read. This is by far an excellent machine. Definately buy this one. Hoover has done it again.
What's great about it: Lightweight, cleans great, easy to change bags
What's not so great: Nothing

The Bridge on the River Kwai, one of the greatest films ever made, is given the appropriate reverential treatment by Columbia TriStar on the two-disc DVD of director David Lean's World War II prisoner of war epic that netted seven Oscars. For a film nearly half a century old, the transfer on the first disc is absolutely gorgeous. The jungle colors pop out so vividly it seems like the film was shot yesterday. The movie is presented in a special widescreen version that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1. As for the soundtrack, the jungle never sounded so good; the soundtrack has been remastered in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound. Disc one also contains an isolated musical score and special DVD-ROM components. The second disc is nothing but special features, including a making-of documentary, a period feature about the making of the film, and a short film narrated by star William Holden that compares and contrasts movies with novels. A photo gallery, talent files, and an homage by filmmaker John Milius completes disc two. A collectible booklet accompanies the double-disc set.

Classi Movie

This movie is about real lfe events during WW 2 and if all you care about is computer special effects, don't buy it. But if you like a movie where actors really acted instead of standing in front of a green screen, then get it. This movie is about the men and women who weren't afraid to be in a war and had the courage that is rarely seen. Has great color, sound quality is good and well acted.
What's great about it: Acting, color, based on true facts

John Sturges' nail-biting POW classic The Great Escape arrives on DVD with a widescreen transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1. English and French soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital Stereo. English, Spanish, and French subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include a half-hour documentary, production notes, trivia, and the original theatrical trailer. This fine package will please fans of the film and may draw some interest from people unfamiliar with it.

I cant get the disk out player will not open
Either take it in and have a professional get it out or unplug the machine and take the screws out holding the outer case on carefully take out the disc. Be careful not to touch anything else inside of it and make sure you are grounded before attempting to do this.

What are some good computer speakers?

I have an HP computer that I would like to buy speakers for with nice deep bass. I'm looking for something under $200. I would like to be able to connect the speakers to my mp3 player as well.
I have listened to a few and the Bose system has the better sound than the others. Not sure of the price but if you are into sound quality, then the Bose is worth it.
