I love this game

I just broke down and finally got a WIi. I'm a huge XBox 360 gamer and I wanted a system that I could play with the wife. I bought a few games for "us" but I had to get Zelda for myself due to all the great reviews I've read about it. I was not at all disappointed. This game brings out the kid in me and at the same time is one of the best games on any platform I have played in a long while. The controls are flawless and the graphics, although not even comparable to the 360 or PS3, are good enough. After a while of having fun with this game, you won't even be bothered by the graphics anymore. This is a must own for Wii gamers and if you have contemplated buying a Wii, this should be one of your first purchases. You will get addicted to this game.
What's great about it: Controls are flawless

Great Mob Movie
on April 2, 2009

This is one of the best movies of the new millenium. With so many lackluster movies that have been released in the 2000s, this movie stands out as one of the best mob movies ever. Martin Scorsese did an amazing job directing and won his first Oscar for Best Director (He should have won for Goodfellas as well). DiCaprio, Wahlberg, Damon, and Nicholson are fantastic. If you complain about the bad language in this movie like the previous reviewer did, then you are watching the wrong genre of movie. Like all of Scorsese's films, expect a lot of violence and bad language. This is a must see movie.

Continents erupt in flames and hails of gunfire as war breaks out on an unprecedented scale. This is World War II, where a massive conflict rages on two fronts: Europe and the South Pacific. Answer your nation's call and travel to distant lands where you'll take part in devastating battles that gripped a generation and laid the foundation for the world as we know it today. Do you have the courage, the cunning and the commitment to fulfill your duties and see the war through to its harrowing end?Prepare for global conflict presented in all its terrible grit and immediacy. In Call of Duty: World at War, you assume the role of a U.S. Marine or a Russian soldier in the waning days of the Second World War. Travel to the far reaches of the conflict, from war-plagued Berlin to the dense jungles of the Pacific theater, as you confront enemies who refuse to contemplate surrender or retreat and who fight all the more desperately — and more dangerously — knowing the end is near. Employ the weapons at your disposal, including a flamethrower and other new infantry and vehicle-based weapons, and fight to complete your mission as battles explode around you with all the terrible chaos of real war.

Not COD4..But still a great game

First thing first. This game is not Call of Duty 4:Modern Warfare. It is however, a superb shooter with a decent campaign and the multi-player is just as fun as COD4. I play this more than COD4 now because I do think the multiplayer maps are better. The guns are decent, but people do use a lot of cheap tactics (ex. MP40 and juggernaut). But as you get better you realize there are many ways to counter the lesser skilled players. COD4 is definitely a better game. That doesnt take anything away from World at War though. WaW is still a great game with amazing visuals, voice work, and controls. I will continue to play this until Modern Warfare 2 is released at the end of this year.
What's great about it: Controls and Graphics
What's not so great: WW2 games are a dime a dozen

Classic cinema

I love the first two Godfather films. I could watch them both over and over. The third one..eh not so much. Its not bad, just awkward and not very compatible with the first two. Probably because it was made about 15 years after the second Godfather. Nonetheless, the first two films are enough for me to score this a five. The blu-ray transfer is ok. Its a huge improvement over the previous dvd releases, and as one of the reviews before me stated, it is meant to have that vintage look to it. I would recommend this to all, even though I kind of wish I would have waited until they released the films seperately so I could avoid the third installment; which I myself like to pretend never happened.

Funny..yet disturbing

This movie, although hilarious at some times, is pretty disturbing. I love John C. Reilly and Will Ferrell is good in most of his movies. However, this movie just went a little overboard. Are they just childish 40 year olds that still live with their parents...or is there some sort of mental problem with them. Dont get me wrong, I get the comedy in it..It just strikes me as a little strange. I wont be watching this movie again. I recommend Talladega Nights if you want to see a better movie with these two actors.
What's great about it: Will Ferrell & John C. Reilly
What's not so great: Pretty weird plot

Best movie...ever

This is not just my favorite gangster movie of all time. This is my favorite movie of all time. Period. Goodfellas is art. Everything from the music, the acting, how the story is told, is simply excellent. This has been my favorite movie since I first saw it in 1994 when I was old enough to watch rated R movies. I havent since seen a movie that is better directed or as well put together. If you havent seen this movie, then you have to to appreciate what great cinema is all about. As a matter of fact, I think ill go watch it right now.

Superb acting

This is one of Tom Hanks best performances. More than half the movie, his co-star was a volleyball. That is great acting. The blu-ray transfer is pretty good, however, it is grainy in some scenes still. I would definitely recommend this movie. It has a lot of heart and shows how great the human spirit can be. I don't know how any of the previous reviewers gave this movie 2s or 3s. Its one of the great movies of our generation and deserves a better score than "twilight" or some of the other garbage that is out today.
What's great about it: Tom Hanks
What's not so great: Certain parts look grainy on transfer

If you like RPGs, then this is must own. The world of the DC wasteland is awesome. It envelops you and the game is extremely hard to put down. I've played through twice as both an evil character and as a good character. I have to say being evil is a little more fun. The only downfall is that I couldn't level up past level 20 and then after that the whole RPG element is kind of lost. Overall, though, Fallout 3 is a great game.
What's great about it: Fun and enveloping
What's not so great: couldn't level up past 20

Must see Mini-series
on December 27, 2008

I am a huge WWII buff. I loved Saving Private Ryan but this is so much more in depth. The reality of it is amazing. Great acting, cinematography, and story. The book "Band of Brothers" is amazing and the mini-series does not disappoint either. If you don't completely become enveloped in this, then you are not a fan of great cinema. I owned the DVD edition and recently bought the blu-ray. Its a must-own for any fan of the genre. What a moving epic.
What's great about it: Best WWII piece ever
What's not so great: I had to stop watching it

Is it true that Blu-ray won't work on any screen less than 40"?

No. Not at all. That is completely false. I have a blu-ray on a 32" and a 46" in my home. My brother in law has his 19" in his kitchen hooked up to a blu-ray.
