Warner receives high marks for the transfer on this DVD of Blood Work. Presented in its original aspect ratio of 2.35:1 (this is another title that has a separate chopped pan & scan transfer), the image is top notch. Colors are natural, while the blacks are solid and show no sign of break down. Detail is nearly perfect, giving the picture a realistic edge. The sound is also quite good, though not outstanding. The 5.1 English and French tracks don't utilize the back surrounds in any truly effective way, but the front speakers do show nice separation, while dialogue is clear up front. It's a nice mix that certainly won't impress, but also won't disappoint. Not up to those standards are the supplements offered here. They're rather weak. All that is included are two featurettes, one on making the film, while the other is a conversation (partly in Spanish, with subtitles) about characters with actors Wanda De Jesus, Paul Rodriguez, and Clint Eastwood. Be careful to watch the film first, as the brief "making of" featurette gives the ending away. Along with that is a teaser and theatrical trailer and some filmographies for a few cast and crew members.

For me, this is the most memorable James Bond film ever. Every scene is incredible, the cinematography is incredible. The acting is excellent, and the plot is a classic. I've probably watched this film over 100 times.

Loved this movie!

I absolutely loved this movie, it's such a great story about how a self-indulgent hollywood actor reflects on his life and returns home.
Maybe a fair warning I guess? for some people anyway, there is alot of nudity in this movie.
What's great about it: Great Story

Clint Eastwood stars in the 1980s action hit Firefox. Presented in s nice looking anamorphic widescreen, this transfer appears to be in excellent shape with solid colors and dark black levels throughout. While a small amount of edge enhancement pops up from time to time, overall this is a fine looking transfer which should please any Eastwood fanatics. The soundtrack is presented in a newly remixed Dolby Digital 5.1 track which features a few well placed directional effects. With some zooming surround sounds and a great music score throughout, Warner has done an excellent job which will please any view in possession of a home theater system. Also included on this disc are English and French subtitles. There is little in the way of extra features on this disc, save for a quick featurette titled "Clint Eastwood: Director." This very short peek behind-the-scenes only serves to whet the palates of Eastwood fans everywhere. Also included on this disc are some film highlights for Eastwood as well as a theatrical trailer for the film.

Possibly my favorite Clint Eastwood movie!

I think this could be my all time favorite Clint Eastwood flick, it's so memorable! Great acting in this one, and the strange part is there is none of Clint Eastwood's usual cast. Perhaps the story is a little dated now that the Cold War is over, but it's still great. The fighter jet sequence at the end of the film was cutting edge at it's time, but don't expect to be thrilled nowadays. Must see for all Clint fans!
What's great about it: Great Story, Memorable Scenes, Awesome Action
What's not so great: I suppose the story is a little dated now that it isn't the cold war

The familiar theme for The Good, the Bad and the Ugly springs nicely from this mono transfer, but technological limitations keep everything very centralized. The sounds are basically clear and the dialogue is understandable, but this track lacks the complexity of two- and five-channel presentations. This DVD utilizes an adequate 2.35:1 widescreen transfer that includes some defects brought by age. Dirt and grain also appears intermittently, but they never detract too much from the overall experience. The most significant bonus with this release is the inclusion of seven deleted scenes that were removed from the original 1966 Italian release when it appeared overseas. They cover approximately 16 minutes and use a strong widescreen transfer. The additional extras include the original theatrical trailer and some production notes. The preview appears in a mediocre 2.35:1 widescreen transfer and includes some basic narration. The notes offer a page of minor behind-the-scenes details and two screens concerning spaghetti Westerns and Sergio Leone's trilogy. It's also impressive to note the 64 chapter cues, which give very specific access to the film.

Another Excellent Movie by Clint Eastwood

A Fantastic Eastwood film, the story of war, and (to me) how it's not all it's cracked up to be, and how the enemy is just as scared as you are. Don't forget, this has a sister movie, "Letters from Iwo Jima" Absolutely a must see together, the two movies tell both sides of the story.
What's great about it: DVD has some great special features
What's not so great: zilch

What is the difference between plasma and flat screen

It's not that there is a difference, but that plasma's are flat screen tv's.
for example, when I was recently shopping for a Flat Panel tv, my choices were Plasma or LCD, because those are the two types of flat panels.
I suppose being a car guy, an analogy might be "What's the difference between Chevy and Malibu?"
Hope my answer helps!
