Best fast charger for my Galaxy S6. Full charge 3 - 100 in less than 90 minutes. I threw my ' discount ' belkin charger away that took much longer. No regrets other than asking myself, "Why did I wait so long to get this?"

Waited until my Best Buy sold out of Season 8. I was shopping for other box sets on sale and found Season 8 blue ray back in stock. Took the chance and made the purchase (it was reduced on sale from initial release price). I've watched the first 8 episodes of the season and the brightness and the colors look fine. Glad I waited.

Read all the reviews that I could find on my upcoming 4k tv purchase including the bad ones and decided I needed coverage. Lemons are possible with any purchase. As with any other insurance hopefully I'll never need it but its great peace of mind at an affordable price.

Did weeks of research (rting.com had the most comprehensive review) and bugging Best Buy sales people for answers led me to this that was the best I could afford. Gave up on HDR since deciding I didn't need blinding whites for viewing enjoyment. Sony came through with a great picture at a fantastic price. Best Buy also honored the $100 price drop that occurred within days of my initial purchase. Glad I immediately connected this tv to the internet. The firmware update improved remote response time and added features to the already wide selection of apps available. Found streaming 4k content on plutotv.. I connected the internet directly to the back of the tv for best speed. Works for me.

First Impressions: Inexpensive Workhorse

Bought this unit to replace an old Sony that wouldn't recognize 16X DVD's. (A problem that just developed, but is pretty common once I started reading up on it.) I tried a new Sony DVD burner first, but it had problems recording off network TV and premium services with copyguard issues. No problems at all with this Toshiba unit. The new Sony also failed to finalize DVD's if there were too many titles on the disk. I did a test recording 22 10 minute titles at the 4 hour speed and the DVD finalized without any problems with this Toshiba. The menu after finalizing the disk is plain white text on a blue background. Nothing special, but gets the job done. I thought I would have issues with the title entering method. Yes, it is like a cell phone without a text keypad, but its actually much faster than the Sony layout where you have to click over the entire screen to select individual letters. I've had the unit a week, so I cannot say anything about the durabilty issues. I've recorded many programs successfully on a wide variety of DVD brands and haven't run into any problems so far. I am disappointed that there isn't a 3 hour recording speed. This was my 'economical' recording speed with the old Sony. The 2 hour SP speed looks fantastic though If this unit only last a year before dying, I've gotten my money's worth at this great price of $119.
What's great about it: Great price - Great picture - No problems compared to a new Sony.
What's not so great: Doesn't have a 3 hour recording speed

Connecting the tv to the internet!

This allows you to get firmware updates direct from Sony. Once I did this, remote response was greatly improved and app features were expanded.

For what it is, it's excellent. The picture has been amazing, the sound is great, and the features(such as built in apps for NETFLIX, VUDU, and other services) are outstanding.
The only issue I can think of is that sometimes there's a noticeable lag in response time when pressing a button. As it's almost never more than a second or two, and not a constant reoccurrence, I'm not going to knock down the rating.

Get the update from Sony

One of the first things I did was plug the internet directly to the back and then select "check for updates'. Found out how to get to that option by doing an internet search on my laptop. I have fairly fast internet and the update still took about 20 minutes to download and install. 1st thing I noticed after the update was a faster response time with the remote. Also apps and features had been expanded.

......that's rtings.com. Also this tv does a great job of upscaling old dvds (480 resolution?) and 720 resolution sources. Big plus for me that old media is still accessible.

I updated the Garmin. It is still occasionally gets left/right backwards, which is not good in heavy traffic. Directions are sometimes not given til last minute causing me to be in wrong lane.

I understand it's all about perspective and the 'director's vision', but I'm not a fan of the fixed letterbox display. I read all the reviews and was familiar with hdr and adjustments that had to be made on my Sony 4k tv prior to purchase. The player does what it's suppose to - play 4k disks well. Best price available for this type of product. Loved the ease of setup. Still no way to eliminate the large letterbox. Good chance I'll be returning this and accept the 1080 blue ray as a more acceptable full screen viewing experience.

The ability to change the zoom is disabled.

Whenever I try to zoom in to eliminate the letterbox, The status message pops up, "This feature is disabled' I have not found a workaround for this. A $99 1080 blu-ray player will allow me to do this. Yes, purists will say I'm cropping the left and right sides of the image. This is my preferred way of watching movies. My Sony tv upscales the image to 4k so I don't see any image degradation by doing this.
