Great upgrade from AC-1900

I've used the Netgear Nighthawk R7000 AC-1900 for a couple of years now and was looking to upgrade. I had tried the Netgear Nighthawk R7500 AC-2350 and the Nighthawk X6 along with the ASUS RT-AC2400 but didn't see enough of a performance upgrade to warranty the purchase. This ASUS RT-AC3100 however just might. I've had if for about a week and this router has been rock solid. Setup is just as simple as Netgear. Plug it in and wait for the boot up. From there a quick firmware update and you're rolling. The web interface is, as I feel, slightly more user friendly than Netgear but also doesn't sacrifice on the more nuance customization. It's also very helpful as everything you can do has a simple yet informative explanation as to what it does. As a gamer, it has a DMZ, basically a firewall pass through, that I put my Xbox One on so that my NAT stays open. It also has a much better Adaptive QoS, Quality of Service, than Netgear from what I have experienced so far. So if you're a gamer, this is a very good router. As for performance, I've been running firmware version:3.0.0.4.378_8596 and haven't had a drop in speed or range and have had zero issues with the router itself. On the 2.4GHz band range has increased by at least 60 feet. My old AC-1900 could only reach to the end of the patio while providing about 10mbps. Now I get a stable connection at the top of my driveway which is a good 60 feet long. Not only do I get a connection, it was also strong. I was able to pull 20mbps on my iPhone 6 at the top of my driveway which is about 150 feet away from my router which is in the center of my house mid level. Every where else in my house I'm still able to get 50mbps in the far most corners on the 2.4GHz band. On the 5GHz band I'd say the range increase is good enough, about an additional 30 feet. I now have 5GHz throughout the house and am able to pull 130mbps while close and 90-100 mbps while in the corners. My old AC-1900 could only push about 50 while in the corners on a somewhat weak signal. I live in a 2600 sqaure foot house and have a strong stable connection all around. Even when my whole family is over and we have around 8 phones, 3 tablets, a computer, a Wii and Xbox One running never have I seen a droppage in speed or performance. Also know this is an investment for the future as there aren't clients that can accept the advertised speeds unless it's a PC with an adapter. This router however has increased my network speeds and range.
